A gestão estratégica tem como objetivo levantar informações sobre a competitividade da empresa, ameaças, recursos disponíveis, oportunidades, entre outros direcionamentos importantes. Baseado nos dados obtidos é possível pensar em ações e tomar decisões seguindo seu plano estratégico. Dizemos que o processo de gestão estratégica engloba análise de decisões antes de colocá-las em prática, pois antes da alta administração tomar uma decisão é preciso verificar indicadores de desempenho e relatórios gerenciais. A partir desses conceitos, a pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar e diagnosticar a gestão estratégica de uma empresa consolidada do setor siderúrgico. Com base em artigos e documentos disponíveis mediantes a livros e websites foi possível caracterizar a empresa, discutir seu posicionamento em relação à concorrência, identificar objetivos estratégicos e indicadores de desempenho. Para isso foram utilizados dois sistemas de medição, as cinco forças de Potter e a análise SWOT, apresentando e pontuando métodos e ações da empresa tanto como causa e efeito para sua estrutura gerencial e processo estratégico.

IT consulting and engineering firms generally develop strategic knowledge for their clients based on their own competences in various business methods and processes. Knowledge and competences can be improved through collaborative research projects and further leveraged for their own strategic development. The aim of this paper is to build and experiment an organizational management tool within a consulting firm. The tool allows the creation of value and differentiation levers on the competitive market of research and innovation consultancy and illustrates how to benefit from internal research activities that can be viewed as intangible resources. In light of competence-based theory this work shows how strategic knowledge developed on an emerging field such as e-health can be rearranged into strategic processes in order to inspire a proactive strategic vision within a consulting firm.

Intensity to produce a quality human capital is not sufficient by having basic skills for certain field only. The need to have a competitive attitude to enhance their level of competency is much concern for many employers nowadays. Hence, this study is conducted to identify the competitiveness factors that influence the level of competency among graduates, especially who employed in the service sector in Malaysia. This study used survey methods by distributing questionnaires for data collection. The study used stratified purposive sampling by distributing a questionnaire to 450 graduates from 13 services sectors based on a statistic from the Ministry of Higher Education 2016. The finding from the exploratory factor analysis found that seven competitiveness factors were consisting of 47 items that form the competitiveness attitude among graduates. However, based on multiple linear regression analysis, only five models of competitiveness factors have a significant relationship with graduates’ competency which are job competitiveness, organizational management competitiveness, dominant competitiveness, goal competitiveness and self-improvement competitiveness. In fact, aggressive competitiveness and general competitiveness does not influence graduates’ competency level significantly. Thus, the more competitive attitude of graduates such as emotional control, innovation, and competitiveness to be the best is vital for their future marketability. In addition, it is hoped that their level of competence can be enhanced through the development of competitive factors for the advancement of the country's higher education talent.

Using methods like linear regression or latent variable models, researchers are often interested in maximizing explained variance and identifying the importance of specific variables within their models. These models are useful for understanding general ideas and trends, but often give limited insight into the individuals within said models. Data envelopment analysis (DEA), is a method with roots in organizational management that make such insights possible. Unlike models mentioned above, DEA does not explain variance. Instead, it explains how efficiently an individual utilizes their inputs to produce outputs, and identifies which input is not being utilized optimally. This paper provides readers with a brief history and past usages of DEA from organizational management, public health, and educational administration fields, while also describing the underlying math and processes behind said model. This paper then extends the usage of this method into the psychology field using two separate studies. First, using data from the Project KIDS dataset, DEA is demonstrated using a simple view of reading framework identifying individual efficiency levels in using reading-based skills to achieve reading comprehension, determining which skills are being underutilized, and classifying and comparing new subsets of readers. Three new subsets of readers were identified using this method, with direct implications leading to more targeted interventions. Second, DEA was used to measure individuals’ efficiency in regulating aggressive behavior given specific personality traits or related skills. This study found that despite comparable levels of component skills and personality traits, significant differences were found in efficiency to regulate aggressive behavior on the basis of gender and feelings of provocation.

This paper is an attempt to study the capital structure of Indian Steel Industry and its major determinants. In this study, almost 50% of companies out of 22 sample size are bearing highly debt driven in their capital structure and it creates financial risk to the debt driven companies. Debt driven companies have obligation to pay interest irrespective of profit made or loss incurred by the firms. Hence we tried to find out which are the various factors significantly explaining the return on capital employed. For which we have considered four independent variables from early studies and employed correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis techniques and ANOVA in this study to test the dependency of the return on capital employed ratio on independent variables. The researcher found three variables such as debt equity ratio, operating profit ratio and interest coverage ratio respectively having significant impact on the return on capital employed to ratio of selected sample size of steel companies.

The limitations of the study wereZarkasyi’s curriculum, empowerment on organizational management, and ethics training in Islamicboarding school. The finding revealed in three main points. First, Zarkasyi’s believed that IslamicEducation curriculum were to cover both religious principles, and modern sciences as well. Thus,the students were expected to master both Arabic and English. Second, organizational and charity(wakaf) management required significant improvement to strengthen Islamic boarding schoolinstitution in accordance to modern principles. Third, Islamic education boarding schools were toemphasize on values of sincerity, simplicity, independence, solidarity, and freedom to raise theawareness of the ethics in Islamic education schools. The author distinguishes two kinds of cognitive processes: automatic processes, which are mostly subconscious, are learned and changed slowly and are not subject to the capacity limitations of working memory, and strategic processes, which are conscious, are subject to capacity limitations, and can easily be adapted to situational circumstances. The perception of advertising and the way it influences brand evaluation involves both processes. Automatic processes govern the recognition of advertising stimuli, the relevance decision that determines further higher-level processing, the retrieval of information, and the provision of a heuristic for brand evaluation. Strategic processes govern learning and inference formation. The relative importance of both types of processes depends on product involvement. The distinction of these two types of processes leads to some conclusions that are at variance with current notions about advertising effects. For example, the attention span problem is relevant only for strategic processes. A certain amount of learning can occur with little conscious effort, and advertising's effect on brand evaluation may be more stable for low- than for high-involvement products.

Within the implementation of the Industry 4.0 paradigm in the steel sector, robots can play a relevant role in improving health and safety conditions at the workplace, by overtaking cumbersome, repetitive and risky operations. However, the implementation of robotics solutions in this particular sector is hampered by harsh operating conditions and by particular features of many procedures, which require a combination of force and sensitivity. Human–robot cooperation is a viable solution to overcome existing barriers, by synergistically combining human and robot abilities in the sense of a human-centered Industry 5.0. In this sense, robotics solution should be designed in a way to integrate and meet the end-users’ demands in a common development process for successfully implementation and widely acceptance. The paper presents the outcomes of the field evaluation of a robotic workstation, which was designed for a complex maintenance operation that is daily performed in the steel shop. The system derives from a co-creation process, where workers were involved since the beginning in the design process, according to the paradigm of social innovation combining technological and social development. Therefore, the evaluation aimed at assessing both system reliability and end-users’ satisfaction. The results show that the human-centered robotic workstations are successful in reducing cumbersome operations and improving workers’ health and safety conditions, and that this fact is clearly perceived by system users and developers.
