<p><strong>The purpose</strong> – to develop and experimentally substantiate the method of developing the physical qualities of tennis players aged 12–13 years old, using React Balls and stretching.</p><p><strong>Material and methods</strong>. The experiment was attended by 28 tennis players 12-13 years old sport school № 3, Severodonetsk, who were divided into control and experimental group of 14 people. The study was conducted within 8 months from August 2018 to March 2019. Before and after the experiment, tennis players' physical fitness was tested (shuttle run 6x8 m, push-ups 30 s, jumps with skipping-rope, running 6 m, running 30 m, long jump from the spot, throwing ball 1 kg, torso inclination forward from a sitting position, circular rotations in the shoulder joint with a gymnastic stick).</p><p><strong>Results</strong><em>. </em>Complexes of exercises with React Balls and stretch exercises for all muscle groups were developed and introduced into the training process of young tennis players. A significant (p&lt;0.05) increase in the flexibility indicators of athletes from the experimental group, as a result of the use of stretch exercises, was determined. It was revealed that doing exercises with React Balls and tennis balls significantly (p &lt;0.05) increased the level of speed and coordination capabilities in the control and experimental groups. According to the test results «running 30 m», «circular rotations in the shoulder joint with a gymnastic stick», «torso inclination forward from a sitting position» in the experimental group, these figures are significantly higher compared with the athletes of the control group.</p><p><strong>Conclusions.</strong>  It was shown that the use of stretching exercises contributes to the development of greater amplitude of movements, and also forms motor freedom, which affects the development of coordination and speed of movement of a tennis player. It is recommended to use the method of development of physical qualities using React Balls and stretching balls in the training process of young tennis players 12-13 years old.</p>

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of high variability training on “-n” and “-ng” in Mandarin Chinese. 46 Japanese native speakers who study Mandarin Chinese as a second foreign language at a university in Japan were divided into one experimental group and one control group. Participants assigned to the experimental group trained themselves using software, which was developed in our early research. Participants in the control group took Chinese lessons normally. Identification tasks (ITs) were conducted before and after the training. After 12 sessions, the average identification accuracy of nasal codas increased 7.1% (p < .05) in the experimental group, however, decreased 1.2% (p > .05) in the control group. Results of the training process prove that the training was effective for some participants, while had little effect on other participants. From the questionnaires, we found that there is a disagreement between the participants’ subjective ability to identify nasal codas and the actual identification accuracy in ITs. Participants underestimate their ability to identify “-n” and “-ng” before training and overestimate their ability to identify “-n” and “-ng” after training. We made a formula to predict the accuracy of ITs (y) in the last 4 training sessions (x): y = 2.13x2 - 2.35x + 1.23. This formula will help participants to grasp the training process and predict their identification ability.

<p><em>The purpose</em> of the work is to experimentally substantiate the development methodology of special physical and technical preparedness of female basketball players aged 13-14. <em>Material and methods</em>. Basketball players of Sports School №13 (age 13-14 years) took part in the experiment: experimental group (n = 18); control group (n = 18). The experiment was conducted in August 2018 for three months. Before and after the experiment, basketball players were tested for physical fitness (running 6 meters, shuttle running 2x28 meters, flexing their arms in the resting position, jumping rope), technical readiness (speed of defensive movements, throws from different distances, speed ball). To determine the psychophysiological state of the athletes of the experiment, psychophysiological indicators were recorded using the “Psychodiagnostics” computer program (the speed of a simple and complex reaction in various testing modes). To determine the speed of the motor hand was used the test "shifting chips." <em>Results.</em> A method of developing special physical and technical preparedness of basketball players has been developed and introduced into the training process of young basketball players. The technique includes doing exercises with a rubber band, exercises using unstable platforms, and running from non-standard starting positions. Revealed a significant (p&lt;0.05) improvement of indicators in tests: the speed of defensive movements, shuttle run, high-speed ball dribble, throws from different distances of athletes from the experimental group compared to the control group. It was established a significant (p &lt;0.05) difference in performance after conducting the experiment in tests: the speed of a simple and complex reaction and the motility of the hands of the athletes of the experimental group compared to the athletes of the control group. <em>Conclusions</em><em>.</em> The positive effect of the experimental method on the level of physical, technical preparedness and psycho-physiological state of female basketball players aged 13-14 years is shown.</p>

Caring for the persons with first episode psychosis is challenging and demanding. It may lead to the increased burden, expressed emotions among the caregivers. The numerous studies have shown that high burden and negative expressed emotions among caregivers can lead to early relapse in the patients with first episode psychosis. To evaluate the effects of the brief psychoeducation on the caregivers burden and expressed emotions. A quasi experimental - before and after with control group research design was adopted for the study. A total of 60 caregivers have participated in the study, of which 30 caregivers in experimental group and 30 caregivers in the control group. Family Burden Interview Schedule (Pai and Kapoor, 1981) and Attitude Questionnaire (Sethi et al., 1981) was used to assess caregiver's burden and expressed emotions. At end of the psychoeducation intervention, burden among caregivers and negative expressed emotions of the caregivers have significantly reduced. The positive expressed emotions have been increased. Study results demonstrates the importance of psychoeducation intervention in reducing the burden and negative expressed emotions.

AbstractTennis is one of the most popular and widely played sports enjoyed by players of different age groups and genders as a profession as well as a mode of recreation. A novel method, PETTLEP imagery combines both conventional and non-conventional style of training of an athlete and improves one’s performance. This study aimed to analyze the tennis service performance of junior tennis players based on PETTLEP imagery training. Forty-four junior male tennis players (Mage=13.22 years, SD=0.42) were selected for the study. The investigator handed over the MIQ-R questionnaire to all the participants in which they scored 16 and above points as per previous research. The participants were equally divided (n=11) into three experimental groups (E1, E2, and E3) and a control group. The service performance outcomes of all the players were compared before and after a training session. The three experimental groups were assigned with service-specific training, service-specific training combined with PETTLEP imagery training, and PETTLEP imagery training alone, respectively, for three days per week for 12 weeks. They were tested on their service accuracy based on the International tennis number (ITN) manual on-court assessment test. The data were assessed for normality and analyzed using non-parametric methods to reveal main effects (each training method alone) as well as to calculate the combined effect of PETTLEP and service-specific training. Certain significant improvements in tennis service were observed with service-specific training alone. Though it marginally outperformed the PETTLEP imagery method, the most improved services were observed with both PETTLEP and service-specific training utilized together. This implies an additive effect when both methods are used together.

We aimed to investigate the effect of Taekwondo training on physical fitness, mood, sociality, and cognitive function among international students in South Korea. We randomly assigned 24 international students to a control group (CG, n = 12) and experimental group (EG, n = 12). The EG performed Taekwondo training for 16 weeks, while the CG did not train. Each participant underwent a physical fitness test and sociability questionnaire before and after the intervention. We also examined changes in mood state and cognitive function, using the Korean version of the Profile of Mood State-Brief (K-POMS-B), and the Stroop Color and Word test, respectively. Regarding the physical fitness variables, sit-and-reach records in the EG significantly increased after intervention (p < 0.05). In the sub-variable of K-POMS-B, Vigor-Activity scores significantly increased (p < 0.05) after intervention, while the Fatigue-Inertia scores significantly decreased in the EG (p < 0.05). Furthermore, in the EG, peer relationship scores, a sub-variable of sociability, significantly decreased after intervention (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that Taekwondo training can not only improve flexibility among physical fitness factors, but can also be effective in improving the mood state and sociality of international students.
