Now a days, women and children are facing various issues like sexual assaults. Such violence will definitely have huge impact on the lives of victim. It also affects their health and their psychological balance. These kinds of violence keep on increasing day by day. Even school children are kidnapped and sexually abused. We are living in a society where a nine months old girl child doesn’t have security, the child was kidnapped, raped and then murdered. On witnessing those violations against women, its impulses us to do something for women and children safety. So, in this project we have planned to propose a device which will act as a tool to provide security and ensures the safety of the women and the children. Microcontroller, GSM and GPS module are used to send notifications and current location of women to various mobile numbers in their contact. In addition, this project will also act as a safety measure which will stun the opposition for few seconds. This project will help us to rescue many women and children from those fiendish in the society.

Introduction: Basic first aid knowledge helps children to deal with emergency situations. Everyone needs to teach children about being mentally prepared for emergencies. Children should be taught about different first aid measures, both at home and at school, which helps emphasize the importance of child safety. This enables them overcome difficult situations like injuries, burns and outdoor emergencies. First aid is all about using common sense in the hour of need. Objectives of the study: To evaluate the effectiveness of self Instructional module by comparing the pretest and post test knowledge of school children. Method and Material: quantitative pre experimental one group pre test post test research design was used. by using Simple random sampling technique. This study was also done on 120 samples; data was collected by semi structured questionnaire to assess the knowledge regarding First aid and safety measure among Early Adolescent age (10-14 year). Results: The pre test means score was 10.58, standard deviation was 1.71 and the mean % was 52.9. The post test means score was 14.94, standard deviation was 1.39 and the mean % was 74.7. The difference in mean% was 21.8. The calculated ‘t’ value of 22.31 which showed high statistical significance at p<0.001 level. There was no significant association of post test level of knowledge with any of the demographic variables. Regarding First aid and safety measure. Conclusion: The present study assessed the knowledge of school children regarding first aid and safety measures, the school children had inadequate knowledge regarding first aid safety measures. After reading Self Instructional Module, there was a significant improvement in school children knowledge regarding first aid and safety measures.

Nowadays, women and children safety is a prime issue of our society. The count of the victim is increasing day by day. In this paper, we are proposing a model which will develop a self defense system especially for women to ensure the safety and to protect themselves from present day physical harassments. We have used different sensors like the knock sensor, temperature sensor, 3-axis accelerometer. We have also used GPS which will help to detect the location of the device. GSM used in the model is used to send the alert message to predefined number, police station. We have proposed embedded microcontroller based device ARDUINO which will help to continuously monitor values of different sensors and GPS used in the device.

This study investigated the influence of refugee status on the occurrence of enuresis. It was performed among school children aged 6 to 11 years and their parents in the Vukovarsko-srijemska County (eastern Croatia), which had many displaced persons and refugees (mostly women and children) in the 1990s due to the wars in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A specially designed questionnaire (about the child’s age and gender, the child’s enuresis history and that of the parents, and data on parental refugee status in childhood) was completed by one of the parents. Adequate data were collected for 3046 children. The prevalence of enuresis among the studied children was quite low (2.3%) but the prevalence distribution according to gender, the decline by age, and the higher odds ratio for paternal enuresis were in line with the results of other studies. The prevalence of parental enuresis in childhood was higher than their children’s enuresis (mothers: 5.8%, fathers: 3.6%, p < 0.001), and significantly higher among parents who had been refugees (mothers: p = 0.001, fathers: p = 0.04). Parental refugee status had no influence on the children’s enuresis. The results suggest that refugee status is a risk factor for the occurrence of enuresis in childhood.

As far as women safety is concerned. Especially in our country the standards are going on decreasing day by day. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) the incidents of kidnapping and abductions rose to 64 per million to 74 per million which is devastating. If it goes on increasing like this, In the coming years there will be a tremendous rise in crime rate especially against women. It is our responsibility to protect our mothers, sisters, friends and each and every woman in our family. There are many devices in the market for this application that is sending locations and alert messages to the family of the user. But, all the devices need the response from the user when they are in danger to send the alert messages or such to their family or emergency services. But there might be situations where the user has zero chances to respond or send any alert messages to their family. We came up with a solution where the alert messages and current location of the user are sent automatically to their family when they are in danger without any response from the user. We achieved it using the pulse rate sensor PPG (Photoplethysmography sensor) using which we measured the abnormal rise in heart rate when the user is in danger. This paper deals with the functionality and implementation of our idea in Embedded Systems and IoT.

Nowadays Human safety has become a major concern, as crime rates are increasing day by day. Out of which most cases are reported against women. As not only women but many other people also need help when it comes to safety, this may include old age people, children, and anyone who is in danger. We are proposing a human safety device that takes input in the form of a voice command or by pressing the panic button. Once the device gets activated, a message and call is sent to the nearby police stations and preferred contacts with some details of the victim and current location of the victim. with this, the buzzers which are placed on the streets on a particular distance also start buzzing. As these buzzers make some amount of noise the nearby people will come to know about the victim and they can also come for help, till the police reach out to the victim.we will be using raspberry pi in the device, NodeMCU in the buzzer and GPS for the location.

Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a widespread problem against children in India. Data suggest that every hour four children are being sexually abused in the country. In this context, the current qualitative research intends to explore the awareness, beliefs, and perceptions about the CSA among the mothers from the lower economic sections of the society. Using in-depth interviews, 30 females aged 18–54 years were interviewed from five marginalized communities in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), India. The sampling was purposive and convenient, and the data collected were thematically analyzed using the interpretive paradigm. The findings reveal that awareness about CSA is quite high among the research participants. However, the testimonies of the participants reflect limited and narrowed understanding of CSA as most of the participants believed that only penetrative sexual assaults such as rape or sodomy qualified as sexual abuse, thereby underestimating the other non-penetrative sexual abuses such as verbal abuses, voyeurism, contact abuses such as fondling, sharing pornographic materials, or internet-based sexual abuse. The data further reveal that the participants were quite aware of the potential threat of CSA; however, they were uninformed of the preventive measures to prevent and stop the CSA. The results reveal the dire need for intervention in the form of education and awareness for the mothers using suitable Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to accomplish CSA prevention.

This study investigated perceptions of victim culpability in sexual assaults against girls and women according to victim age, perceiver gender, and perceiver parental status. Overall, 420 jury-eligible participants completed an online survey recording their attributions of guilt, responsibility, and blame toward 10-, 15-, and 20-year-old girls and women in relation to sexual assault. Attributions of culpability were affected by whether the victim physically or verbally resisted the abuse, wore sexually revealing clothes, or was described as having acted promiscuously. Fifteen-year-old victims were perceived as more culpable for the abuse than 10-year-old victims. Implications of these findings are discussed.
