The effective functioning of logistics infrastructure is a prerequisite for themodernization of a regional and national economy. It is also a prerequisite for the transition to an innovative development path; to include the amelioration of a population’s living standards. The study of historical patterns and characteristics of the development of logistics will allow us to determine the main directions for improving the activities of logistics infrastructure, whilst making recourse to appropriate management tools. The most important element of regional infrastructure is traditionally road and rail transport networks, which can both enhance and facilitate a region’s local and international linkages.

Effective operation of the logistics infrastructure is an indispensable condition for the modernization of the regional and, as a consequence, the national economy, the transition to an innovative development path, as well as the improvement of the living standards of the population. The most important elements of the regional infrastructure are traditionally referred to as road and rail transport, which ensure republican and international ties of the region's territories.

The study addresses the research component used to provide infrastructure facilities for enhancing innovative development in Ukraine. More specifically, the article considers the main infrastructure facilities, which accelerate innovative development. The paper also evaluates preconditions for building research capacity in the country and its funding by structuring expenditures on research and development by sources of funding. The issues of creating intellectual capital are put forward and examined. The article introduces a number of factors, which hinder providing investment support for the infrastructural development of the economy. Finally, the paper formulates a set of measure to be taken in order to integrate the innovative infrastructure of the national economy into the world economic system.

With the development of Industry 4.0, the transformation processes are taking place at the level of the national economy. The needs for energy supply, renewal of fixed assets, expansion of production, and ensuring innovative development are growing. These transformations require the introduction of additional mechanisms to ensure environmental safety. The article investigates the principles of development and functioning of the environmental component of securing the innovative development of the national economy in Industry 4.0. The system of environmental indicators of innovative support of the economy’s industrial and technological development is monitored, namely capital investments in environmental protection, the share of publications in ecology and environment, the share of renewable energy consumption, emissions of pollutants and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A relatively high emission rate of 0.57 tons of CO2 per $ 1,000 of GDP is set and this figure is graphically visualized in Ukraine and other countries. The distribution of administrative territories according to the level of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere from stationary sources is presented. The highest values of pollutant emissions from stationary sources are observed in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions - 31.4% and 23.4%, respectively. The positive dynamics of the growth of renewable energy capacities is determined. The positive preconditions for the introduction of ecological innovations are identified, namely a new procedure for establishing and distributing the ecological tax, a new state environmental policy, bringing Ukrainian environmental policy in line with the standards of leading countries. Ukraine’s position on the Environmental Efficiency Index is determined. The main measures for the development of the environmental component of the economy in the leading countries are analyzed. Recommendations for improving the state policy of industrial and technological development in the framework of activating the environmental component are provided.

The purpose of this study is to develop a methodology for the formation of an innovative business environment as an essential condition for the implementation of effective innovations that ensure the transition of the domestic economy to an innovative development path. The article explores modern approaches to the formation of an innovation environment and the definition of its place in the implementation of effective innovations, identifies the problems of implementing effective innovations and identifies potential solutions to them, analyzes the factors determining the formation of an innovation environment and ensures the implementation of effective innovations, identifies ways to improve the innovation climate in real sector of the economy. As a result of the research, a model for the formation of an innovation environment has been developed that ensures the implementation of effective innovations and assumes the creation of favorable conditions for the implementation of innovation activities.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate innovation activity in the countries of the world. Based on the use of statistical, comparative, systemic and logical methods, an analysis of indicators of innovative activity was carried out, as a result of which it was concluded that Russia lags behind other countries in terms of innovative development. Using methods of economic and factor analysis, a factor model was formed in the work, which included groups of global, national, industry and corporate factors, the management of which will ensure a sustainable transition to innovative technologies of the national economy. In the ending of the study the main conclusions and results of the work are presented.
