This research was carried out on March to August, 2018, and the experiment on April to June, 2018 at the Fishery Laboratory, Djuanda University Bogor. The objective of research is to know and analyze the survival rate and feed conversion ratio of Giant Gouramy that cultured on biofloc media and different protein levels. The experimental design that used is completely randomized design   with 2 treatments   and 6 replications.  The treatments are  treatment A (feeding of protein level  of 17% + mollase addition  with C,/N  ratio 12) and treatment B (feeding of protein  level  of  30%  without  mollase)  Fish that used is Giant Gouramy fry with length 5-7 cm that maintained cylinder container of diameter 1 m and height 1 m. The results of research that the artificial feeding of protein level of 17% + mollase addition with C/N ratio 12 gives the survival rate which is better, but the feed conversion ratio is bad. The average of the highest survival rate of Giant Gouramy is 89% (treatment A) and the low feed conversion ratio is 1.6 (treatment B). Water  quality during the research are temperature  of  23,6-30,0 °C, dissolved oxygen of 6.4- 8.8 mg/l and  pH of 6,3-8,8.Key words: Giant Gouramy, biofloc, feed conversion ratio, protein level.

The tailing pond of bauxite post-mining in Senggarang, Tanjungpinang City, have been potency of natural feed sources from phytoplankton and zooplankton. Moreover, the water quality of the tailing pond of bauxite post-mining has begun to support fish life. The objective of this study was to determine the survival rate and growth of economical fish in tailings ponds of bauxite post-mining in Senggarang, Tanjungpinang. The research was conducted by field experiment using a completely randomized design. There were different fish varieties as treatment: tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy), and tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum). Every treatment was  carried out 5 replications, with 6 fish in every cage replication. Monitoring the water quality and the fish survival on the 0th, 10th, 20th and 30th days. The survival of economical fishes in tailing ponds of bauxite post-mining from the highest to lowest were tambaqui (97%), tilapia (83%), and gouramy (40%), respectively. The growth of fishes length from the highest to the lowest were gouramy (0,223 cm), tambaqui (0,037 cm), and tilapia (0,018 cm). Meanwhile, all variety of fish tested had a decreased in weigh: gouramy -0,2310 grams, tilapia -0,4281 grams, and tambaqui -1,3498 grams. The management of tailing ponds of bauxite post-mining in Senggarang for fisheries activities can be carried out by tambaqui (C. macropomum) culture cage with several conditions such as measurement of carrying capacity and capacity, management of water quality, feed, and technical aspects of culture. Keywords: bauxite, economical fish, growth, survival rate, tailing ponds

Culture of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with high stocking density and feeding can cause a decrease in water quality due to the accumulation of metabolic waste such as ammonia which is toxic for fish rearing. A zeolite filter is needed which can reduce ammonia levels until it is not harmful to fish survival. This research was conducted in February-April 2020 at the Aquaculture Environmental Quality Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Faculty of Riau University. The purposed of this study was to determine the effect of using zeolite on Ammonia (NH3) and determine the appropriate dose for Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) rearing. The research method was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) one factor with 4 levels of treatment (P0: Control without the use of filters, P1: Use of zeolite 5.68 g/L, P2: Use of zeolite 11.37 g/L, P3: Use of zeolite 17.05 g/L). The appropriate treatment for Tilapia rearing is P3 (Zeolite 17.05 g/L) with TAN value is 0.2616 mg/L, Ammonia 0.0018 mg/L, TAN reduction is 59%, and Survival Rate of fish is 88.88%. The value of water quality during the study were temperature 27-29 oC, pH 6.7-7.0, and DO 6.2-6.9 mg/L.

The use of probiotics is certainly one of the solutions in overcoming the problem of increasing seed in fish farming. One of them is the use of probiotic king catfish, in this study tested on catfish, tilapia and goldfish. This research is an experimental study. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments 3 replications. Data analysis used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 15. The results of the analysis of the highest seed survival rate were obtained on Pangasius pangasius (95%), on Oreochromis niloticus (83,33 %), and Cyprinus carpio (80%). The treatment of Rajalele probiotics has a very significant effect (very significant) Fanalysis (23.01) > Ftable 0.01 (7.59) on the graduation of Pangasius pangasius, Oreochromis niloticus, and Cyprinus carpio. The conclusion of this study shows that the survival rate the highest in Pangasius pangasius

The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of Pacific marine shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), in a polyculture in tanks subjected to different stocking densities and feeding strategies, in comparison with monoculture. Two experiments were performed, at the same time, in a completely randomized design with three treatments and four replicates each. Treatments for experiment I were: monoculture with 10 shrimp per m² (10S:0T); polyculture with 10 shrimp and 0.5 tilapia per m² (10S:0.5T); and polyculture with 10 shrimp and 1 tilapia per m² (10S:1T). Shrimp was the main crop, and feed was provided based on shrimp biomass. Treatments for experiment II were: monoculture with 2 tilapia per m² (2T:0S); polyculture with 2 tilapia and 2.5 shrimp per m² (2T:2.5S); and polyculture with 2 tilapia and 5 shrimp per m² (2T:5S). Tilapia was the main crop, and feed was provided based on fish requirements. In the experiment I, tilapia introduction to shrimp culture resulted in lower shrimp growth and poor feed conversion rate. In experiment II, shrimp introduction to tilapia culture did not interfere with fish performance. Polyculture is more efficient with the combination of 2 tilapia and 2.5 or 5 shrimp per m² and feed based on fish requirements.

The aim of this research is determine of the optimal stocking density for survival rate and growth of tilapia in round container with water current combined with venturi aeration system. Place of research in the Aquaculture Laboratory, Building 4 Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. The research method used is experimentally with using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method which consists of three treatments, there are 15 fish, 22 fish, 30 fish, with five replications. Using water of 15 L per container. The fish used are 3-5 cm tilapia fingerlings. Fish were maintained for 40 days. The feed given is 5% from biomass which is adjusted every 10 days. The parameters observed were survival rate (SR) and observed everyday, daily grow rate (DGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR) and feed efficiency were observed every 10 days. The result was significantly different from the analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the F test at 95% confidence intervals and then using Duncan test to compare the rates between treatments. The results showed that the best treatment was stocking density of 15 fish / 15 L in round container with current combined with venturi aeration system with survival rate of 78.67 ±10.95%, daily grow rate of 3.68 ± 0.12%, feed conversion ratio of 1.19 ± 0.13 and feed efficiency of 85.01 ± 8.97%.
