Competence is skills that are closely related to the effectiveness of person’s performance in a particular field. Similarly in education, competence is the key to student success, and also the great competence of the majors chosen by the students will lead to increased quality of majors. Arabic Language Education Department in IAIN Kendari is a department that prepares students to become educators and scientists in Arabic language which has competence in Arabic were nice and had a high competitiveness. This research uses descriptive analysis method with qualitative approach based on case study design. The data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and open questionnaire. The results showed (1) a strategy to increase student competence in Arabic language on Arabic language education department at IAIN Kendari still ineffective that was described by least of activities that support the increased student’s competence in Arabic language and also its lack of consistency in implementing additional programs for students of Arabic language education department (2) the helping and resistoring factors to increase student’s competence contained on lecturer’s performance in the classroom, facilities of language learning, and student’s motivation. lecturer’s performance in the classroom has given many help to increase student’s competence in Arabic, facilities to assist in learning the Arabic language still needs to be cared and activated again or making the new and interesting activities, and student’s motivation in the study of Arabic is still lacking is due to the absence of another place for practicing the Arabic language competencies that they have acquired, and also the lack of student’s interest in attention of learning at the classroom caused by the bored atmosphere of the class (3) the problem solving by formulating a strategy based on suggestions and feedback from lecturers and students in Arabic language education department is a path that can be taken by Arabic language education department in IAIN Kendari to improve student’s competence in Arabic language.

Assessment of the quality of translation is one of the important activities in translation. The translation assessment can be seen from three aspects: accuracy, clarity, and naturalness. This study aims to reveal the accuracy and fatigue of the translation results of students' Arabic-Indonesian official manuscripts, considering that researchers rarely touch the spiciness aspect than the translation's accuracy and reasonableness. This research uses the descriptive analysis method and content analysis model. The research sample is six graduate students in Arabic Language Education at the Indonesia University of Education. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. From the results of this study, the researchers obtained several findings, namely: first, the level of mastery was very high, spread as many as eight data (44.4%), the moderate level of intelligence was spread as many as six data (33.3%), and the level of intelligence lacked as many as four data. (22.2%). Second, the level of fatigue in the translation of the official text for high levels of friction is as many as ten data (55.5%), there are five data (27.7%) for moderate fatigue, and three data (16.6%) is less tired.  So, from the results of this study, it is concluded that fatigue dominates as much as ten data (55.5%) compared to the very high level of mastery where there are only eight data (44.4%).

The purpose of this study is to find the needs of task-based model syllabus for Arabic language learning in Nursing Academy at As-Syafi'yah Islamic University in Jakarta. Currently, most of the specific language syllabus does not fulfil the student needs and its content that is the language used is very general and did not really based on the needs of students. The study analyses the student needs using descriptive analysis method. While the data will be collected from document, questionnaire, and interview. Then, the data analysed will be validated by expert of qualitative technique. There are three steps of process will go through, namely data reduction, data display, and taking conclusion. The result of study shows that task-based model of Arabic nursing sylabus which is refered to Indonesia's national qualification framework is proper and decent to be used as the guidance of Arabic teaching and learning process at Nursing Academy of As-Syafi'yah Islamic University Jakarta.

Characteristic of mahfuzhat is using of high register and contain cultural content and norms. That is bring  own problems into student from memorizing procces, understanding a meaning and practicing. The goals of this study aims to describe and to provide a solution problematic that it has related with mahfuzhat learning. This research uses a case study approach, by observing field phenomena. As for the research subjects, namely students of the 1st semester of the Arabic Language Education Department. The data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation, then the data analysis used was data display, data reduction and triangulation. The research findings show that the problem of competency aspects is due to aspects of vocabulary, rules and differences in several elements and characteristics between Arabic and Indonesian, the lack of time for practice, non-linguistic problems due to internal and external factors of the learners. The solutions include increasing the components and implementing learning as well as strengthening the motivation and self-confidence of learner.

This study aimed to analyze Arabic language learning with a neurolinguistic approach at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Students have not been able to accept the material presented by the teacher. Students have not responded with their brain intelligence, both in understanding mufradât as well as understanding muhâdatsah. This research used a case study approach, involving the principal, the representative of Ismuba (al-Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, and Arabic Language) and the Arabic language teacher. Data were collected by observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the study prove that the neurolinguistic approach can understand students in mastering Arabic learning through brain synchronization, both right brain, and left brain. Optimizing Arabic language skills rests on his brain. This neurolinguistic approach can facilitate students in mastering istimâ', kalâm, qirâ'ah, and kitâbah abilities in Arabic learning.

Recruitment of Arabic Teachers is a very important initial stage in maintaining and improving the quality of Arabic Language Education. This is because the Arabic teacher has a direct effect on the students' Arabic competence. From this background, the researcher aims to reveal how the management of the recruitment of Arabic teachers at Assalaam High School. This type of research is field research. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research. The data collection uses in-depth interviews with school principal, deputy principals, teachers, and Human Resources Development (HRD) and documentation studies. To achieve the degree of validity of the data, the author uses the source triangulation technique. The results of the study began with school planners who needed Arabic language teachers and then sent a request to the HRD. Organizing is carried out by HRD as the main implementer. The recruitment process is handled by the HRD by involving elements of the school and the Director of Assalaam as well as third parties. Controlling is carried out from all parties because all parties involved have a role to be able to evaluate each other. The involvement of the Director of Assalaam, HRD, school principal, deputy principals, teachers, students and third parties is unique in this study. So as to create a comprehensive and holistic system in the recruitment of Arabic teachers. The limitation that occurs is the technical nature of the availability of places.

Language is the main characteristic that distinguishes humans from other creatures, with that language interacting and communicating. One theory of language acquisition and learning regarding language as a human trait is the generative transformative theory Noam Chomsky states that language is the innate potential possessed by humans from birth. Based on the theory, this study aims to analyze the innate potential of human language as a reference in the development of Arabic language learning, taking into account the innate potential of the language that is already possessed by students. It is expected that the potential of the language can be utilized and developed optimally in the process of learning Arabic. his study uses descriptive analysis method, and the conclusions obtained based on this research are curriculum design in Arabic language learning based on Chomsky Innate theory, namely students do not have to be given intensive training, students are given a broad opportunity to create speeches, the rules are given as long as it is needed, students are deployed to real situations in the communication process. Abstrak Bahasa merupakan ciri utama yang membedakan manusia dengan makhluk lainnya, dengan bahasa manusia berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi. Salah satu teori pemerolehan dan pembelajaran bahasa yang berkenaan bahasa sebagai ciri bawaan manusia adalah teori transformatif generatifnya Noam Chomsky yang menyatakan bahwa bahasa merupakan potensi bawaan yang dimiliki manusia sejak lahir. Berdasarkan teori tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis potensi bawaan bahasa manusia sebagai acuan dalam  pengembangan pembelajaran bahasa Arab, dengan memperhatikan potensi bawaan bahasa yang sudah dimiliki oleh peserta didik diharapkan potensi bahasa tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan dan dikembangkan secara optimal dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif, dan kesimpulan yang didapatkan berdasarkan penelitian ini berupa desain kurikulum pembelajaran bahasa Arab berdasarkan teori Innate Chomsky yaitu peserta didik tidak harus selalu diberi latihan (drill) secara intensif, siswa diberi kesempatan yang luas untuk mengkreasikan ujaran, kaidah nahwu diberikan selama hal tersebut diperlukan, siswa diterjunkan kedalam situasi nyata dalam proses komunikasi. Universitas Indonesia memiliki banyak aplikasi sistem informasi manajamen (SIM). Salah satunya ialah media pembelajaran scele.ui.ac.id. Scele.ui.ac.id banyak digunakan para pengampu matakuliah berbasis IT atau pernah mengikuti pelatihan scele.ui.ac.id ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan tentang kualitas informasi output dari scele.ui.ac.id. Ada 3 aspek yang diuji dalam penelitian ini yaitu: Aspek Bentuk, Aspek Isi dan Aspek waktu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, yaitu penelitian yang menggambarkan atau mendeskripsikan kumpulan data atas hasil pengamatan yang telah dilakukan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini ialah mahasiswa Bidang Administrasi Program Vokasi UI tahun 2014-2016. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas dari output scele.ui.ac.id berada ditahap berkualitas.Kata kunci: sistem informasi, kualitas informasi QUALITY INFORMATION REVIEW OF SCELE.UI.AC.ID E-LEARNING LEARNING SYSTEM (CASE STUDY: STUDENTS OF VOCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM OF UI) AbstractUniversitas Indonesia has many applications of management information systems(MIS). One of them is the instructional media scele.ui.ac.id. Scele.ui.ac.id is used by many lectures of IT-based courses or they who attended the scele.ui.ac.id training. This study aims to explain the quality of information output from scele.ui.ac.id. Three aspects that were tested in this study are: Form Aspect, Fill Aspect and Time Aspect. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method with quantitative approach, is research that describes a collection of data on the observations that have been made. The population in this study is students of Administration UI Vocational Program year 2014-2016. Based on these results it can be concluded that the quality output of scele.ui.ac.id is good.Keywords: information systems, quality of information.

مستخلص البحث:ينطلق هذا البحث من مشكلة التي يواجهها طلاب قسم تعليم اللغة العربية بجامعة محمدية تانجرانج، حيث صعوبتهم على ممارسة التعبير الشفهي. ويهدف هذا البحث لكشفها، ولوصف الخطة الاجرائية عما يتعلق بتدريس التعبير الشفهي بالطريقة الاتصالية وأثرها في ترقية كفاءة التعبير الشفهي لطلاب قسم تعليم اللغة العربية في جامعة محمدية تانجرانج. هذا البحث بحث نوعي، ويُخْتَصّ هذا البحث في دراسة حالة لأنها يُقَصّده الباحث لمعرفة المشكلة التي يواجهها الطلاب في التعبير الشفهي ومراحل تدريسه بالطريقة الاتصالية التي تجري في الفصل وأثرها شاملا وعامقا. وتشير نتيجة هذا البحث: الأول، أن المشكلة التي يواجهها الطلاب في تدريس التعبير الشفهي هي: أ). قلة التدريبات اللغوية الشفوهية، ب). قلة حفظ المفردات الموضوعية، ج). قلة التواصل بين الطلاب باللغة العربية، د). قلة اهتمام بالمواد المدروس، هـ) أن التعبير الشفهي الذي يمارسه الطلاب غير منتَظِم. الثاني، أن تدريس التعبير الشفهي بالطريقة الاتصالية على ثلاث مراحل إجرائية، وهي الخطة، والتنفيذ، والتقويم. والثالث، إن استخدام الطريقة الاتصالية فعال في ترقية كفاءة التعبير الشفهي.الكلمات المفتاحية: تدريس، التعبير الشفهي، الطريقة الإتصالية AbstrackThis research departs from the problems faced by the students of the Arabic Language Education Department of Muhammadiyah University in Tangerang in the ta'bir syafahi (verbal expression) practice. The purpose of this study was to reveal the problems faced by students in teaching ta'bir syafahi and also the procedures for using communicative methods in teaching ta'bir syafahi and their effectiveness in improving ta'bir syafahi competencies in Arabic Language Education students at Muhammadiyah University in Tangerang. This study uses a qualitative approach; and including the type of case study because researchers want to know deeply and comprehensively about the problem ta'bir syafahi experienced by students, the stages of teaching, and the impact of the application of communicative methods in ta'bir syafahi learning. The results of this study indicate that: First, the problems faced by students of the University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang in teaching ta'bir syafahi include: a). lack of oral language training, b). treasury of thematic mufradat is still minimal, c). the intensity of Arabic communication is still lacking, d). lack of attention to the material being taught, e). less systematic in conveying ideas. Second, the procedure for applying communicative methods in ta'bir syafahi includes three things, namely: a). Planning, b). Implementation, c). Evaluation. Third, the use of communicative methods is effective in improving the competency of ta'bir syafahi.Keywords: Communicative Method, Teaching, Ta'bir Syafahi

Penelitian  ini dilatarbelakangi dari belum disusunnya tolak ukur penyusunan alat evaluasi mata kuliah berdasarkan uji kelayakan soal-soal ujian di Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Daerah FPBS UPI. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas soal ujian mata kuliah Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Daerah FPBS UPI tahun akademik 2016/2017 di yang dikaji berdasarkan uji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya beda sebagai dasar penentuan kelayakan soal-soal ujian. Penelitian ini didesain menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analisis. Sumber data diabil secara purposive pada soal-soal mata kuliah kategori pembelajaran, kebahasaan, kesastraan, dan kebudayaan yang menggunakan jenis soal pilihan ganda dengan jumlah 160 item soal. Teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu teknik studi dokumentasi. Teknik pengolahan data dilakukan dengan cara kompilasi, tabulasi, skoring, dan interpretasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah, 1) tingkat validitas soal yang diuji sebanyak 59% valid serta 41% sisanya tidak valid; 2) tingkat reliabilitas soal yang diuji berada dalam kategori sedang; 3) tingkat kesukaran soal 58% sedang, 20% mudah, 14% sukar, 7% sangat mudah, dan 2% sisanya sangat sukar; 4) daya pembeda soal 43% cukup baik, 39% buruk, 10% baik, 6% sangat buruk, dan 2 % sisanya sangat baik; serta 5) tingkat kelayakan soal ujian yang dianalisis yakni 67% layak, 12% harus direvisi, dan 21% harus diganti. AbstractThis research was motivated by the fact that the benchmarking for subjects evaluation device has not been compiled based on test item feasibility in the Sundanese Education Department of FPBS UPI. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of test items in the Department of Sundanese Language Education FPBS UPI in 2016/2017 academic year, which were examined based on tests of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and power of the different on the basis for determining the feasibility of exam question items. This study employed a quantitative approach with descriptive-analysis methods. Data sources were chosen purposively on test items of learning, language, literature, and culture subjects’ categories and used multiple-choice question type consisted of 160 exam question items. The technique used in collecting the data was document study technique. Data processing techniques were done by compiling, tabulating, scoring, and interpreting. The results of this study were:1) questions validity is 59% and the remaining 41% is not valid; 2) the questions reliability is mediocre; 3) question level of difficulty are distributed as it follows: 58% is moderate, 20% is easy, 14% is difficult, 7% is very easy, and the remaining 2% is very difficult; 4) the differentiating question 43% is good enough, 39% is poor, 10% is good, 6% is very poor, and the remaining 2% is very good; and 5) the question items feasibility split in 67% is feasible, 12% must be revised, and 21% must be replaced.

The background of the research comes from learners’ difficulties in developing their language competencies especially speaking skill. Therefore, Arabic learning for foreign learner needs a good quality of speaking skill. It is really necessary to develop their speaking skill through good expressions and grammar in speaking especially for advanced learner.In this case, the researcher found that learners of Arabic speaking skill are still poor and uncreative because learners still do not notice the art of Arabic speaking. Through this underlying reason, the researcher composes sample of Arabic learning material for speaking skill inspired from dialogue within Al Quran in Surah Al Kahfi. Hence, it leads to the question about the appropriate example in Surah Al Kahfi which is suitable for learning Arabic speaking skill.This research uses descriptive analysis method consisting of: 1) Data Resource, 2) Data Collection, 3) Data Analysis, 4) Composing Learning Material.The result of this research shows that: 1) the dialogue within Al Quran in Surah Al Kahfi consists of three kinds of dialogue with various forms and models; 2) the dialogue within Al Quran in Surah Al Kahfi has special features which are able to be inspiration as learning model to sharpen Arabic speaking skill; 3) the dialogue within Al Quran in Surah Al Kahfi can be a guidance in composing learning material especially for speaking with artistic Arabic expressions.
