Abstract:The central question of the discussions held here is: "There are relations between the conceptions of gender, language and mathematics teaching?". Indeed, it is not uncommon encounter in with statements such as "boys are better able to learn mathematics than girls" or "women are very emotional and irrational", among others, that may have implications for the teaching of mathematics to from the moment we face such utterances in the light some concepts in the field of linguistics. Starting from certain assumptions related to the notion that we are beings where discourses estanciam and come alive, the statements cited above, once translated into the classroom, can feed the reaffirmation of inequalities already materialized in the social sphere. It is intended, in this sense, define the distinction between men, women and mathematics as unnatural, but constructed, with the valuable assistance of the language and all that it embraces you.

Relationships among visual signs, society and memory reveal the dominant cultural order in a given context as well as the causes that maintain it (influence and imposition) and the effects on the population where it occurs (alienation and cultural resilience). Therefore, it is possible to identify deeper social processes with a purely visual and symbolic reading. Visual signs (two-dimensional), in addition to configuring the way space is understood (three-dimensional), reflect social and political dynamics (the time factor). To have a more complete vision of the moment and context, it is necessary to interrelate art with sociology and history. In the specific case of al-Andalus, there is a turning point at which there are changes in visuality that are mainly reflected in writing (Arabic and Latin), the use of symbols (the Mudejar, the cross) and the organization of the spaces designated for art (temples, museums, exhibition halls); hence, these changes function as visual indexes of social dynamics that reach to the present day. The visual supports the social and vice versa, configuring and maintaining a certain worldview. If there is visual continuity, there is continuity in the social sphere.

The Pro-Rural project was implemented in Rondônia in 1983 to serve the rural school student. He had specific teaching materials, called booklets, in module format. In this sense, the question arises: what conceptions of teaching science and mathematics were disseminated through the didactic materials of this project? In order to try to answer these and other questions, this article aims to analyze the conceptions of science and mathematics teaching spread in Pró-Rural. For discussion and analysis, some Pro-Rural booklets that had access, notably part of Sciences and Mathematics, as well as the pilot project for this project, were used as sources. The results that the contents of the Pro-Rural Project were allowed by the ideals of the Movement of Modern Mathematics (MMM) in the field of mathematics and by a simulation of sciences aimed at caring for problems related to rural men. As final considerations, there are for the Teaching of Accounting Sciences that discuss the main problems of the region (ex. Malaria), step by step for the Teaching of Mathematics, strong conceptions of the Modern Mathematics Movement.

After the collapse of the USSR and the formation of a completely new state, about 30 years passed. Our country has moved from a socialist planned and centralized system of government to a state-market system. There was a period of transformational crisis, recovery of socio-economic recovery, as well as obvious periods of crises and stagnation in the social sphere. At the moment, there is a public demand for a fairer social policy, for better and more effective management in this area. To meet these requests, it is necessary to analyze the formation of the social system, social structure, and social policy, as well as to identify certain patterns that the current social system of the Russian Federation operates according to

Inspired by the theoretical and methodological contributions of interpretive research and narrative and autobiographical research, focusing on the experiences, the study focuses on the individual elaboration of reports of the master’s degree students, through letters. We emphasize that the letters favored moments to know the individual and also collective paths of formation. A reflexive-critical process that lacks social and individual autonomy. Thus, the scenario of the first discipline of the first group of the Master's Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching was significant to instantiate scenarios in which the relevance is in the social subject focused: teachers/masters at the beginning of the career as a researcher. We also note that the letters for the understanding of formative processes, especially in the individual formation of teachers/researchers, are drawn between experiences of life histories, and for this reason, reveal their singularities. At the end of the study, it was possible to perceive that autobiographical narratives are fruitful both for the reflection-critic of oneself, for the subjects in formation, and also for the researcher who seeks to understand the formative processes from the singular experience of each subject - in our case, each master's degree student. Keywords: Writing. This article deals with an intervention unit which focused on the positive effect of integrating poems, stories and fables (the literary genre) for improving mathematical language, fostering the teaching of mathematics language, increasing satisfaction with the process and strengthening the relationship between use of daily language and mathematics language. The study was conducted amongst pre-service mathematics teachers, specialising in literacy activities designed to foster mathematics language. One of the study outcomes was a ‘bank’ of words with double meanings which can result in misguided perceptions and common errors. Another outcome was a pool of ideas for literacy activities in mathematics which can develop wide, integrative activities. Exposure to and awareness of such a bank of words may help mathematics education practitioners to cope with difficulties in mathematics teaching and learning.

The paper examines and compares how the major sociological theories treat axiological issues. Value-driven topics are analysed in view of their relevance to society in times of crisis, when both societal life and the very structure of society undergo dramatic change. Nowadays, social scientists around the world are also witnessing such a change due to the emergence of alternative schools of sociological thought (non-classical, interpretive, postmodern, etc.) and, subsequently, the necessity to revise the paradigms that have been existed in sociology so far. Since the above-mentioned approaches are often used to address value-related issues, building a solid theoretical framework for these studies takes on considerable significance. Furthermore, the paradigm revision has been prompted by technological advances changing all areas of people’s lives, especially social interactions. The global human community, integral in nature, is being formed, and production of human values now matters more than production of things; hence the “expansion” of value-focused perspectives in contemporary sociology. The authors give special attention to collectivities which are higher-order units of the social system. These units are described as well-organised action systems where each individual performs his/her specific role. Just as the role of an individual is distinct from that of the collectivity (because the individual and the collectivity are different as units), so too a distinction is drawn between the value and the norm — because they represent different levels of social relationships. Values are the main connecting element between the society’s cultural system and the social sphere while norms, for the most part, belong to the social system. Values serve primarily to maintain the pattern according to which the society is functioning at a given time; norms are essential to social integration. Apart from being the means of regulating social processes and relationships, norms embody the “principles” that can be applied beyond a particular social system. The authors underline that it is important for Ukrainian sociology to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of axiology and make good use of those ideas because this is a prerequisite for its successful integration into the global sociological community.

The article deals with A. Bushkovsky’s novel Rymba that goes beyond the topics typical of Russian North prose. Rather than limiting himself to admiring nature and Russian character, the author portrays the northern Russian village of Rymba in the larger context of the country’s mentality, history, mythology, and gender politics. In the novel, myth clashes with reality, history with the present day, and an individual with the state. The critic draws a comparison between the novel and the traditions of village prose and Russian North prose. In particular, Bushkovsky’s Rymba is discussed alongside V. Rasputin’s Farewell to Matyora [ Proshchanie s Matyoroy ] and R. Senchin’s The Flood Zone [ Zona zatopleniya ]. The novel’s central question is: what keeps the Russian world afloat? Depicting the Christian faith as such a bulwark, Bushkovsky links atheism with the social and spiritual roles played by contemporary men and women. The critic argues, however, that the reliance on Christianity in the novel verges on an affectation. The book’s main symbol is a drowning hawk: it perishes despite people’s efforts to save it.
