Statistical analysis offers unprecedented opportunities to identify learning strategies. This fact has been boosted in the COVID-19 pandemic because of the data obtained in distant learning scenarios due to the confinement. This article deals with the identification of students’ strategies in different distant learning scenarios such as working autonomously as a support for face-to-face classes or learning autonomously in COVID-19 confinement. We have measured the influence of parameters such as the time they spent in self-evaluation, the scores obtained through this process and the distribution of time when studying autonomously. We have only detected significant results that guide to a better learning strategy when we include time parameters, such as the time between studying sessions or the time between students’ first session and their final exam. We demonstrate that students that started to study earlier and more dispersed get better success ratio (not necessarily better scores) than those that started later and do it more concentrate. The findings from this study suggest that the same amount of time spent in autonomous learning optimizes its effectiveness when it is extended in time. This learning strategy was found more often in COVID-19 confinement, where students were forced to stay at home.

This study aims to improve student achievement in Aqidah Akhlak subjects, especially KD Understanding Sufism. The assessment of this Sufism material is not only in the realm of knowledge (cognitive) but includes the entire domain of attitude (there is a change in attitude) and skills (application of religious understanding) for each student. That's why researchers formulate strategies that can generate student achievement, where in this learning activity, apart from being able to achieve all the aspects that are expected, students are also able to instill social traits in each of them. The learning strategy offered is cooperative learning (Cooperative Learning Strategy), namely by using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type. Conducted in class XI IPS1 MAN 1 Jombang. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two face-to-face meetings. Before carrying out the research action, the researcher conducted a pre-test in the class being studied (before the implementation of cooperative learning strategies, in this pret test the results obtained by students on this material with an average of 79. Furthermore, after the cooperative learning model through the TGT type (Teams Games Tournaments) then in the second cycle obtained an average learning completeness of 84, and in the third cycle the increase in the average score became 95, very significant. Dilakukan pada kelas XI IPS1 MAN 1 Jombang.

Educational computer games have been widely employed to facilitate students’ learning. Studies have pointed out that these games may improve students’ learning effectiveness when they are equipped with appropriate learning strategies. However, the role of learning strategies in students’ acceptance of educational computer games has received surprisingly little scholarly attention. Hence, this research proposed two learning scenarios to address this question. Students in the first scenario were offered an educational computer game with a learning strategy, while those in the second were offered the same game without the strategy. A quasi-experimental design with a research model was constructed to examine the role of learning strategies in students’ acceptance of the given game. In this study, 65 students participated in the two learning scenarios. Two research findings are presented: (1) the adoption of the learning strategy not only affected students’ acceptance of the game, but also made their perceived ease of use significantly influence their perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, and attitude towards using; (2) with or without the learning strategy, perceived enjoyment was the most important factor that affected students’ acceptance of the game, while perceived usefulness, attitude towards using, and perceived control exerted no influence on this issue.

This paper was a subset report of a research project on skill-based English learning strategies by Indonesian EFL learners. It focusses on the attempts to reveal: (1) the differences in the use of strategies of learning speaking skill by male and female learners, and (2) the contribution of strategies of learning speaking skill on the learners' speaking proficiency. The data from 595 second year senior high school students from eleven schools in East Java, Indonesia were collected using a 70 item questionnaire of Oral Communication Learning Strategy (OCLS) and a 10 item self-assessment of speaking proficiency. The statistical analysis revealed that gender provided significant effects on the intensity of use of six types of strategies of learning speaking skill – interactional-maintenance, self-evaluation, fluency-oriented, time gaining, compensation, and interpersonal strategies – with female learners reporting higher intensity of use. A further analysis found that four strategy types – interactional-maintenance, self-improvement, compensation, and memory strategies – greatly contribute to the speaking proficiency. These findings imply that strategies-based instruction, covering the four most influential strategies, needs to be integrated explicitly in the speaking class to help learners, particularly male learners, cope with problems in learning speaking skill.

This study provides the profiles of students and a regression prediction of marks considering data before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a field experiment of 396 students and more than 7400 instances, we have studied the differences in performance considering the temporal distribution of autonomous learning during courses from 2016/2017 to 2020/2021. After applying unsupervised learning, results show 3 profiles of students: continuous students, last-minute students, intense and last-minute students. We have found that the highest success ratio is related to students that work in a continuous basis. However, last minute working is not necessary linked to failure. After applying regression, results show that the mark of the students can be predicted successfully and that the most relevant values are the mean mark in self-evaluation obtained the month before the final exam, the mean mark two months before, the number of attempts two months before and the number of attempts the month before. Results are a little worse but still acceptable if the prediction wants to be made a month before the final exam. This regression is useful to prevent students' wrong learning strategies, and (more effective) to detect malpractices such as copying. We have done all these analysis taking into account the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, including also a discussion about which factors will be extended in time and which ones are transitory and only due to the confinement.

This research is about what learning strategies were used during the Covid-19 pandemic at MTS Muhammadiyah 1 Taman. The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the conventional learning process. With that, this research was conducted to determine the learning strategies carried out at the school. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The purpose of the research was to obtain an overview of the implementation of online learning at MTS Muhammadiyah 1 Taman as an effort to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The data source used is the primary data source. he informant in this is the Principal of Madrasah Mts Muhammadiyah 1 Taman. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the learning strategy during the Covid-19 pandemic uses the Blendid Learning strategy which is carried out face-to-face and online. With this strategy, students can enter school on a predetermined schedule in turn. This strategy is very efficient because in addition to students being able to do face-to-face learning with the teacher in the classroom, they can also access the material provided online wherever they are. When students do not understand the material provided, they can discuss it in person in class or online. Of course, this is very beneficial for both educators and students, because learning will be very comfortable and more effective.

In a pandemic like today, alternative strategies in learning are needed by utilizing technology which for now can be said to be advanced and sophisticated, but we cannot rule out the possibility of learning that is carried out online which causes pros and cons both from teachers, students and parents of students, especially those who have a poor economy, innovation and creativity of teachers as educators are needed, at least with the innovation in learning strategies during Covid-19 this can make it easier for students to understand and get education even though they cannot learn face-to-face with teachers or educators. So the teachers, especially the PAI teachers at Mts. N simuelue Aceh, has tried to make several innovations in learning strategies during the Covid-19 period. If before the Covid-19 pandemic the learning strategy carried out at Mts. N 02 simuelue, is a deductive and inductive strategy. A deductive learning strategy is a strategy that is carried out by studying the concepts first, then looking for conclusions and illustrations from the material learned from abstract things then going to concrete things and commonly called general to specific learning strategies. In contrast, the inductive learning strategy is learning done from understanding concrete things and then being exposed to complex and difficult material and is commonly called a special to general learning strategy. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic the teachers pursued innovation and adopted alternative strategies, namely by applying the cooperative e-learning method, carrying out learning by prioritizing student activity and cooperation with one another to keep students enthusiastic and to maintain solidarity and feeling. mutual respect even when learning is done online. This study aims to make us understand the extent of innovation of the Pai teachers at Mts. N 02 Simuelue on creativity in learning amid the covid-19 outbreak.

Speaking is the most essential skill that must be learned in acquiring a new language. It is important for the students to find the best learning strategies in order help them in learning the materials. However, it is necessary for the students to realize that there are many kinds of learning strategies that they may use during English speaking class. Therefore, this study aimed to elaborate on the kinds of students’ learning strategies in the English speaking class and to identify the factors that caused students to choose that learning strategy. The participants of this research were the students of English Department in the fourth semesters. The data were collected by using questionnaire and interview. The result shows that the students of English Department applied almost the learning strategies which provide on the metacognitive, cognitive, and socio-affective strategies while learning speaking. The most strategy used by students was note taking (51, 4%) and the least strategy was a translation (19, 6%). On the other hand, the strategy used by male students was cooperation (16, 8%) and there were (27, 1) female students who used self-evaluation as their strategy in learning speaking. Those learning strategies may be chosen depending on the students’ occasion and learning objectives.

Arabic Learning Concentration centered on writing skills (kitābah) is the teacher's step to perfect the student’s mastery of mahāratu al-lughawiyyah. Its achievement is in accordance with the 2013 curriculum and the needs of students are able to make sentences and practice of qawāid nahwiyah (imlā'), compile simple paragraphs (insha'), and translate (tarjamah). The teacher is also able to direct students to be confident in their ability to do the kitābah assignment which is considered difficult and monotonous by using learning strategies during the government policy for conducting e-learning at home because of the Covid-19 virus. This study uses questionnaires, interviews, and direct participant observation with a qualitative descriptive approach.  The sample is 10 grade students in their second semester of MANPK-MAN 4 Banjar Indonesia academic year 2019-2020, aiming to determine students' self-efficacy in the implementation of the kitābah learning strategy, so that students are able to maintain their confidence. The results of the study were students' self-efficacy at a high level with an average value of 3.10 and the kitābah learning strategy used was ISSO (Independent Study, suggestopedia with Online). Independent Study makes students actively study and try to be independent. Suggestopedia as a process of generating student motivation uses sound, film and games. Most students (14%) enjoy online learning because they do not have to go to school, references are available on Google and learning can be done while relaxing. Other students (86%) prefer offline or in class learning because they could meet face to face, interact, understand clearly, be focused and effective.
