An employee is the most important element in the success of a company. In order to achieve the optimum productivity of goods or services, the underlying factors of employee performance are very crucial to be identified. Employers should provide a conducive working environment to ensure that the employees can perform well and satisfactorily towards the success of the company. This paper, therefore, was conducted to determine the most influencing factor of employee’s productivity. The aim is also to investigate the relationship between employee’s productivity and three identified factors which are motivation, working environment and job satisfaction. Besides, the study also aims to examine the strategies to improve the productivity of employees. The respondents were 80 staff of Elektro Serve (M) Sdn. Bhd. (ESMSB) which is based in Paka, Terengganu. In ensuring the stability of information generated, cross-sectional data was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire. Correlation and regression analysis were conducted in analysing the data gathered. The finding shows that motivation is the most influencing factor of employee productivity followed by job satisfaction. Thus, it can be concluded that motivation and job satisfaction are the most dominant factors that contribute to the employee’s productivity.

A positive working environment is vital in ensuring employee productivity to avoid unnecessary stress to the employees thus affecting their work performances. There are several working environment factors that contributed towards job satisfaction. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between the working environment and employee performance based on five dimensions of the working environment. The quantitative survey design was utilized in this study and data were collected by using questionnaires. The respondents of this study were administrators from different departments in a local municipality located in Kuching. The data were analysed by using Pearson’s Correlation Analysis to measure the relationship between the variables. The finding shows there is a significant relationship between the working environment and employee performance. Support from supervisor was found to be the dominant variables in ensuring a positive working environment.         Keywords: Working environment; Employee performance; Municipality; Human resource; Health

ObjectivesThis study had three objectives: (1) describe the prevalence of occupational exposure among Chinese medical personnel in detail, (2) verify the partial mediating role of work environment satisfaction in the relationship between occupational exposure and job satisfaction, and (3) examine if stress symptoms moderate the relationship between occupational exposure and job satisfaction.DesignA large cross-sectional online survey was conducted in July 2018 in China.SettingA survey was conducted in 54 cities across 14 provinces of China.ParticipantsA total of 12 784 questionnaires were distributed, and 9924 healthcare workers (HCWs) completed valid questionnaires. The response rate was 77.63%.Outcome measuresA confidential questionnaire was distributed to HCWs. The relationships among and the mechanisms of the variables were explored using descriptive statistical analyses, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis.ResultsThe most common occupational exposures among HCWs in the past 12 months were psychosocial and organisational hazards (85.93%). Overall, physicians (93.7%) and nurses (89.2%) were the main victims of occupational exposure. Occupational exposure correlated negatively with work environment satisfaction and job satisfaction, and positively with stress symptoms. Moreover, work environment satisfaction fully mediated the relationship between occupational exposure and job satisfaction, and stress symptoms moderated the relationship between occupational exposure and job satisfaction.ConclusionThe incidence of occupational exposure among HCWs is generally high. The high frequency of psychosocial and organisational hazards among physicians and nurses should be taken seriously and dealt with in a timely manner by hospital managers. The negative impact of occupational exposure on job satisfaction must be buffered by measures to reduce stress symptoms and enhance working environment satisfaction, ultimately improving the overall quality of life of HCWs and promoting comprehensive development of the medical team.

A healthy working environment is important for the performance of workers to prevent undue burden on employees, thus impacting their job efficiency. Numerous working environment factors contributed to job satisfaction. The goal of this analysis was, therefore, to explore the correlation between working environment and the employee performance on the basis of five working environment dimensions. This study utilized the quantitative approach and collected data through questionnaires. The respondents of this study were employees of all positions, which include the manager, senior to junior executives in selected construction firms of Karachi city. By using Pearson's Correlation Analysis, the data were analyzed to measure the relationship among variables. The results indicate that the workplace environment and employee performance have a significant relationship. The support of supervisors was thus identified as the main element in maintaining a positive workplace environment.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to test the relationship between job workload and academic performance among university academic staff in Malaysia. The paper also attempts to discuss and then seek empirical evidence to the two mediational paths (namely, career commitment and job satisfaction) that explain the focal relationship between job workload and academic performance. To test the three proposed hypotheses, the study used cross-sectional data collected from academic staff serving in Malaysian Research Universities (MRUs). The final sample of 191 valid and complete responses was analysed using SmartPLS 3.3.3 to test the hypotheses. Results showed that workload is negatively related to academic staff performance. In addition, job satisfaction mediates workload and academic staff performance linkage. These findings reinforce the importance of job satisfaction as an influencing factor against the deleterious effect of job workload and academic staff performance. The study has shown that, contrary to our expectations, career commitment does not mediate the relation between job workload and academic staff performance.  Going forward, this study provides new insights about the effect of job workload on the performance of university academic staff through intervening variables.    Keywords: Career commitment, Job satisfaction, Job workload, Academic staff performance, Malaysian Research University

In addition to suitable organizational working environment effective management of human psychological capital has become very important for any organizational success in today’s complex business world. This study aims to investigate the relationship between organizational work environment, psychological capital and job satisfaction by using a sample of 176 employees from four departments of civil secretariat government of Balochistan. According to correlation and regression analysis there was significant statistical relationship between organizational work environment, psychological capital and job satisfaction. Employees with positive psychological capital are more satisfied from jobs if working in even less conducive environment.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between workload and job satisfaction of nurses in the Young Inpatient Installation available for surgery at the Aceh Tamiang Regional General Hospital.This research is a cross sectional analytic survey type where the independent variable and the dependent variable are examined simultaneously. The population in this study were 30 nurses in the Young Inpatient Installation available for surgery at the Aceh Tamiang Regional General Hospital. The results of the bivariate analysis with the chi-square statistical test showed that there was a relationship between qualitative workload and job satisfaction of nurses with a p-value of 0.005 (p <0.05), there was a relationship between quantitative workload and job satisfaction of nurses with a p-value of 0.019 ( p <0.05) after the chi-square statistical test was performed. It is recommended to the Aceh Tamiang Regional Hospital for the placement of the need for nurses to be adjusted in quantity and quality to increase job satisfaction of the nurses in charge, to conduct surveys and analysis of job satisfaction periodically for evaluation as a basis for improving and improving employee performance from the aspect of job satisfaction of nurses, and for other researchers. It is hoped that they can carry out more specific research with other factors that can lead to job satisfaction of nurses related to different methods and data analysis.

The study was conducted with 02 objectives to describe and analyze some factors affecting the motivation of office and support staffs working at Dong Thap General Hospital in 2017. The research design is cross-sectional, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Research results show that, the motivation average score of office and support staffs with the general motivation; burnout; job satisfaction; intrinsic job satisfaction; organizational commitment; conscientiousness; timeliness and attendance oscillate from 2.91 to 3.5. The motivation average score of office and support staffs with burnout is lowest and the motivation average score of office and support staffs with conscientiousness is highest. Some factors affecting the motivation of office and support staffs are income policies; training opportunities; satisfaction of colleagues and managers; working environment; equipment and facilities. The research results provide evidence to help the Board of Directors to develop solutions to improve the motivation of office and support staffs in the future. PurposeThe purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between officer perceptions of fit in their organization and stress (organizational and operational), overall job satisfaction and turnover contemplation (within the last 6 months).Design/methodology/approachThe authors used cross-sectional survey data from a sample of 832 officers from two Midwest police departments to examine the relationships between fit, stress and work-related attitudes.FindingsPerceived stress and organizational fit were strong predictors of overall job satisfaction and turnover contemplation; organizational fit accounted for the most variation in stress, satisfaction and turnover contemplation. Organizational stress partially mediated the relationship between organizational fit and job satisfaction and organizational fit and turnover contemplation.Research ImplicationsMore research is needed to identify predictors of organizational fit perceptions among police officers.Practical implicationsFindings indicate that agencies should pay close attention to the organizational culture and structure when trying to address issues of officer well-being and retention. Further, the person−environment framework can be a useful tool in examining police occupational outcomes.Originality/valueThe authors findings contribute to research on officer stress by exploring perceptions of organizational fit as a predictor of stress and unpacking how officer stress matters to important work outcomes, including job satisfaction and thoughts of turnover, by considering stress as a mediator between organizational fit and these work outcomes.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the quality of the relationship between a supervisor and their subordinate, conceptualised as leader member exchange (LMX), and the mediating influence of subordinate’s job embeddedness on job satisfaction. The LMX model considered the four-gender dominant leadership style facets, female – affect and loyalty (communal), and male – contribution and professional respect (agentic). Social role theory was applied to explain societies influence on leadership style. The moderating influence of supervisor gender on the relationship of LMX facets and subordinate embeddedness is investigated. Design/methodology/approach This cross-sectional survey study of 213 self-selected employed participants investigated the mediation of job embeddedness LMX and job embeddedness and the moderation impact of supervisor gender on this mediation. Findings Job embeddedness mediated the relationship between all four facets of LMX and job satisfaction. Supervisor gender did not moderate the relationships of the four LMX facets and job embeddedness. These findings highlight the potential impact of a homogeniuos sample in relation to industry type and culture as this may impact on the findings. That is, participants in this study were predominantly females working in female dominant industries. Originality/value This study builds on the work of Collins et al. (2014) who examined the moderating impact of subordinate gender on the mediating relationship of job embeddedness on the relationship between LMX facets and job satisfaction. Previously, the gender role of supervisors on this relationship was not explored.

Objective - This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of Occupational Health and Safety, and the Working Environment on Employee Performance with Job Satisfaction as a mediating variable in PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) with sample on DAOP I Jakarta. Methodology/Technique - The study population numbered 292 employees and 75 respondents be adopted as a sample of the study. Techniques of analysis using a statistical test structural equation model-based variance (SmartPLS). Findings – The results showed that, (1) Occupational Health and Safety had no effect on Job Satisfaction and Employee Performance, (2) the Work Environment had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction and Employee Performance (3) Job Satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, (4) Occupational Health and Safety has no effect on Employee Performance even though through Job Satisfaction mediation, (5) the Work Environment has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance through mediation of Job Satisfaction, (6) Occupational Health and Safety, and the Work Environment simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction with the coefficient of determination, which is equal to 0,533, (7) Occupational Health and Safety, Work Environment, and Job Satisfaction simultaneously have a positive effect and significant to Employee Performance with coefficient of determination, which is equal to 0,890. Novelty - The company is expected to provide adequate rest periods, maintain the nutritional intake of its employees by providing healthy food, provide educational scholarships for further levels for employees, safeguard the work environment from chemical hazards and other hazards, and give positive motivation to the employees.
