It aimed to achieve the following objectives, (1) to assess the entrepreneurial intention of final year university students, (2) to investigate the effect of psychological and contextual factors on entrepreneurial intention of final year university students and (3) to examine if there is a gender difference in the effect of psychological and contextual factors on entrepreneurial intention of final year university students. The study examined the effect of psychological and contextual factors on the entrepreneurial intention of final year undergraduate students. The study used the quantitative research method with a descriptive research design. 140 students participated in the survey and data was collected through the use of self-administered questionnaire in a survey. The participants in the study were final year undergraduate business management students. The convenience sampling technique was used in the study. Data analysis included descriptive statistics and the T-test. The results indicated that business students have a high level of entrepreneurial intention. Both psychological and contextual factors positively impact on entrepreneurial intention. There is no significant gender difference. High perceived academic self-efficacy influences both subject performance and emotions of the subject. In turn, dispositional empathy implies a social and emotional adaptability towards the subject itself and those around them. This study aimed to analyze the differences in the mean dispositional empathy factors (i.e., perspective taking, fantasy, empathic concern and personal distress) between future teachers with high and low perceived academic self-efficacy, as well as the predictive capacity of dispositional empathy on high perceived academic self-efficacy, and the correlations between both dimensions. For this, a sample of 805 Spanish students of the Faculties of Education of the Universities of Alicante and Murcia was recruited. The Escala de Autoeficacia Percibida Específica de Situaciones Académicas was used to assess perceived academic self-efficacy and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index was used to analyze the dimensions of dispositional empathy. It was observed that high academic self-efficacy is more likely to present in people with a high level of perspective taking and fantasy (OR = 1.06 and 1.09, respectively) and less for those with personal discomfort (OR = 0.86). The other analyzes provided the same conclusions. In conclusion, it is important to develop perceived academic self-efficacy in undergraduates and future teachers due to the consequences that can lead to their classrooms.

The purposes of this research are 1) to analyze the differences of the effect of gender, years of study, and major on the academic self-efficacy, and 2) to predict academic self-efficacy in determining academic achievement. This is a quantitative research using a survey approach. The location of this study is STKIP Singkawang (School of Teacher Training and Educational Science). The sample used is 223 students, which consisted of 112 males and 111 females. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS with descriptive statistical techniques, correlation, regression, and univariate GLM analysis. The results confirm that; 1) different majors have a significant influence on academic self-efficacy compared to the gender and years of study. The students of social sciences major have higher academic self-efficacy than those in the exact sciences major.; 2) self-efficacy has a positive relationship and is also a predictor in determining academic achievement. This shows that any improvement in academic self-efficacy will be accompanied by an improvement in the academic achievement.

The design applied is a quantitative research. There were 90 students recruited using cluster quota sampling. The data were gathered using scales and reading test. The obtained data were analyzed in two phases: descriptively and inferentially. Whereas inferentially, the data were analyzed using pair-wise correlation and multiple correlation technique. The findings show that: 1) the students’ reading anxiety is at high level while reading self-efficacy and reading competency are at the low levels; 2) the relations pair-wisely are negative and positive significantly correlated; and 3) the simultaneous or multiple relationships of the reading anxiety and reading self-efficacy to the students’ reading competency is proven to be significant (  =0.81; α =0.01).

Nowadays, the concept of performance can be related to almost any field of activity, taking into consideration the fact that setting, achieving and even exceeding goals appear to be of constant interest for individuals involved in working activities. Additionally, research literature is rich in notions related to performance measurement, evaluation and management. The same interest in literature is met for the concept of teachers’ self-efficacy and evidence show these two concepts are strongly related one to the other. Hence, the current study aims to bring a new perspective for these topics by analyzing work performance and self-efficacy in the field of education employees, i.e. high-school teachers, and the extent to which they perceive their self-performance and self-efficacy levels. As the present paper focuses on determining the level of the previously mentioned concepts among high school teachers from Romania, the data were gathered through an online questionnaire, answered by 603 Romanian high-school teachers and later analyzed according to quantitative research methods. The results of this study, consistent with the methodology used and within the limitations, show a high level of both perceived work performance and perceived self-efficacy among the high-school teachers. These facts could be of great interest for educational stakeholders, fellow researchers and policy makers.

Fifty seven public sector schools in Lahore were selected for this research. All nine graders in public sector secondary schools were target population of current study. Eleven hundred and eighty six students were selected through multistage random sampling for present research.  A questionnaire developed by the researcher was used for exploration of gender difference in relation to students’ attitude towards mathematics at secondary level in Pakistan. It was a Lekert Scale with five points on it. The questionnaire was pilot tested and validated by experts. It was found that overall gender difference in attitude towards mathematics did not significantly exists. Therefore, the reason of difficulty in mathematics is needed to be explored for both boys and girls.

Subjective well-being (SWB) has been an intensely studied domain of psychology, predominantly in the field of positive psychology. Due to the nature of teaching as an intellectually, physically and emotionally demanding profession, the last few decades have also witnessed a growing interest in teachers? SWB. The pres?ent study investigated pre-service teachers? (PTs) SWB and explored its relationship to teaching efficacy beliefs and occupational anxiety. A total of 261 PTs enrolled in English Language Teaching departments of five different universities in Turkey participated in the study. Data came from the scales of SWB, teachers? self-efficacy beliefs and occupational anxiety. The findings indicated that PTs had a high level of perceived SWB; female PTs had a significantly higher level of SWB than male ones; PTs? academic year and the type of university they were enrolled in had no signif?icant relationship with their SWB; and both self-efficacy beliefs and occupational anxiety served as significant predictors of PTs? SWB, together explaining 16.2% of the variance in their scores.

<p class="apa">The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of concept mapping on mastery goal orientation and academic self-efficacy in a collaborative learning environment. The current study employed a randomized controlled pretest-posttest group design to examine if learning strategies such as concept mapping can help students with both reading comprehension achievement and intrinsic motivation of wanting to master a task at a high level. A total of 42 5th grade students at Ilshin Elementary School in South Korea participated in this study. The experiment group (<em>n</em>=22) has undergone concept mapping training while the control group (<em>n</em>=20) has not. All students were required to fill out questionnaires based on mastery goals, performance goals and academic self-efficacy. The results indicated that concept-mapping did not increase mastery goals and mastery goals had no effect on test scores. In addition, the interaction effect between academic self-efficacy and condition did not increase mastery goals and had no effect on test scores. In conclusion, the reduced number of samples may have caused a potential source of instability considering the statistical procedure chosen.</p>

This chapter discusses the role of self-efficacy and confidence as foundations for student success and well-being. Based on the work of Albert Bandura and social learning theory, the goal is for individuals to feel that they are able to identify and solve problems on their own. Low self-efficacy can lead to depression because a lack of control causes disappointment and pessimism. Academic self-efficacy is identified as one of the factors that is necessary for a positive college experience. A case of a student with limited social self-efficacy is examined, with suggestions of how parents can help, including how to give accurate and optimistic feedback based on strengths and weaknesses. There is also a section on how bias and stereotyping undercut the feeling of self-efficacy and how parents can encourage their teens to push back and not internalize these prejudices.
