The paper presents the results of the foliar feeding application in the technology of spring barley cultivation for fodder purposes. The effectiveness of foliar nitrogen fertilizer application and treatment with humic fertilizer «Stimulife» is also discussed in the paper. The use of foliar top dressing in a rate of 30 kg N/ha on an unfertilized background contributed to a 28%-increase in the productivity of spring barley. Subsequent treatment of the crop with «Stimulife» resulted in an additional 12%-increase in productivity. Application of a lower nitrogen rate (20 kg N/ha) on the N75P50K50 background contributed to 11%-increase in barley productivity, while with subsequent treatment with «Stimulife» – to 19%. Foliar fertilizer application at a rate of 10 kg/ha on the most fertilized background (N100P75K75) resulted in an increase in barley productivity of 15%, and with subsequent treatment with «Stimulife» – of 30%. The energy yield of the crop and grain chemical composition was estimated. Differences in the experiment treatments resulted in a change in the chemical composition of barley grain. The combined use of foliar nitrogen fertilizer (30 kg N/ha) with «Stimulife» stimulated an increase in the nitrogen content in barley grain of 50%. Reducing the nitrogen rate to 20 kg N/ha led to an increase in nitrogen in the grain of 44%. The minimum rate of nitrogen in top dressing (10 kg N/ha) allowed to increase the nitrogen content in grain by 16%. Thus, foliar differentiated nitrogen fertilization together with «Stimulife» treatment on an increasing background of mineral fertilizers contributed to an increase in the protein content of barley grain from 9 to 17%.

The article presents the results of spring barley crops and the effect of foliar fertilization on them. Prospects and effectiveness of biological products as a basic fertilizer for cereals. Spring barley is a valuable food, fodder and technical crop. Pearl barley and barley groats are made from vitreous and coarse-grained two-row barley grain. Most barley is used for feed purposes. In 1 kg. grain contains 1.2 feed units and 100 g of digestible protein. Spring barley contains a lot of protein (9-12%), carbohydrates (70-75%), pentazoles (7-11%), sucrose (1.7-2%), fiber (3.8-5.5%), fat (1.6-2%), ash (2-3%). Spring barley grain is characterized by high nutritional value and is widely used in feed production, confectionery, brewing. However, in the dynamics of its yield there are significant fluctuations, which is associated with both agro-climatic conditions and organizational and economic. Having a short growing season, underdeveloped root system, the culture is quite demanding on the provision of basic factors of plant life, including nutrients. The system of fertilization of spring barley is determined primarily by predecessors. It has a valuable ability to make the best use of the aftereffects of organic and mineral fertilizers applied to the previous crop. If spring barley is sown after well-fertilized row crops (sugar beet, potatoes), under which 40-50 t / ha of manure and mineral fertilizers are applied within N80P80K80 - N120P120K120, then fertilizers are not applied directly under barley at all. Against this background, barley with proper care can form 40-50 kg / ha of grain. It is clear that in case of incomplete supply of sugar beets or potatoes with fertilizers, barley will require additional application of macronutrients. Barley responds very well to fertilizer application, especially in conditions of sufficient moisture. The increase in yield from mineral fertilizers can reach 15-20 kg / ha. To prevent lodging of plants, it is necessary to ensure the correct ratio of nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Given the condition of the soil cover and low volumes of fertilizer application, we consider the issues of optimization of mineral nutrition of spring barley to be relevant and in need of refinement. An important component of the plant nutrition system is the use of microfertilizers. Therefore, the purpose of our research is to establish the reaction of spring barley to the complex use of microfertilizers, crop formation and grain quality in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine [3] Key words: spring barley, foliar feeding, biological products.

Little attention has been paid to the effect of long-term fertilizer application on concentrations of elements in grain of barley produced on the metal non-contaminated agricultural soil. In 2010, we analyzed yield and concentrations of elements in grain of spring barley in unfertilized control, mineral fertilizer application (N<sub>4</sub>P<sub>2</sub>K<sub>2</sub> &ndash; 70, 60 and<br />100 kg N, P and K per ha) and combinations of farmyard manure or poultry litter with mineral fertilizer (FMN<sub>4</sub>P<sub>2</sub>K<sub>2</sub> and PLN<sub>4</sub>P<sub>2</sub>K<sub>2</sub>) treatments in the Ruzyně Fertilizer Experiment established on Luvisol in 1955 in Prague (Czech Republic). The yield of grain ranged from 4.03 to 9.74 t/ha in the control and FMN<sub>4</sub>P<sub>2</sub>K<sub>2</sub> treatment. There was a positive effect of fertilizer application on concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorusand potassium, but no effect on concentrations of calcium and magnesium. With the exception of iron, concentrations of micro (copper and zinc) and risk elements (arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, manganese and nickel) were not significantly affected by the fertilizer treatments. Long-term use of organic and mineral fertilizers with appropriate application rates does not represent any risk for contamination of barley grain by risk elements on mineral rich and metal non-contaminated agricultural soils.

SUMMARYField experiments at Askov and Lundgaard Experimental Stations, Denmark, were carried out in 1987–91. Winter and spring applications of pig slurry at two application rates and an unfertilized treatment were combined with three rates of mineral nitrogen fertilizer; 15 treatment in all. Grain and straw yield, nitrogen content and nitrogen uptake of spring barley were measured at harvest. All main effects were significant, resulting in increasing yield and nitrogen uptake both when increasing the rate of mineral nitrogen fertilizer and slurry, and when slurry was applied in spring rather than in winter. The nitrogen content of the barley was affected by mineral nitrogen fertilizer application, and by the rate of slurry. The nitrogen efficiency of applied ammonia-N in the pig slurry was estimated by a quadratic polynomial yield response function and expressed relative to a reference function based on the application of mineral nitrogen fertilizer. The efficiency was estimated at 10 for spring-applied pig slurry. The value for winter-applied pig slurry was lower (0·6) and more variable. The efficiency of ammonia-N in spring-applied pig slurry decreased by 0·4/100 kg N/ha when supplementary mineral nitrogen fertilizer was applied at the same time.

The effectiveness of herbicides in spring barley crops on different nutrition backgrounds was studied in field experiments on dark gray forest soil of medium loamy particle size distribution in the conditions of Volga-Vyatka region. It is revealed that on both backgrounds of fertilizer application the barley formed a maximum yield, when applying the herbicide Bomba. When using this herbicide in making mineral fertilizers N54P54K54 the productivity was 2.71 tons per hectare and a dose N70P70K70 – it was 2.83 tons per hectare. On average for three years, the maximum (11.35%) protein content was appeared in the preparation by Sekator turbo herbicide on the background of fertilizer application of N70P70K70.

The purpose of the study is to identify the effectiveness of various types of fertilizers and biologics Bisolbifit on the yield and quality indicators of spring barley grain. Experiments were conducted in 2015-2017 in Ulyanovsk region. The soil of the experimental site is represented by leached Chernozem, heavy loam. The scheme of experience included two factors. Factor A-control; pre-sowing seed treatment with Bisolbifit; NPK in pure form at a dose of 15 kg of active substance per hectare; modified NPK (NPKm) at a dose of 15 kg of active substance per hectare; modified NPK (1/2 NPKm) at a dose of 7.5 kg of active substance per hectare. Factor B (background): zero-without fertilizers; pure ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) at a dose of 40 kg of active substance per hectare; modified ammonium nitrate (1/2 NH4NO3m) at a dose of 20 kg of active substance per hectare. Inoculation of seeds with a biological preparation was performed by semi-dry etching 1...2 days before sowing at a dose of 400...600 g per hectare of seeds. For the preparation of modified NPK and ammonium nitrate, the biological preparation Bisolbifit was used in a dose of 4 kg per 1 ton of fertilizers. The drug was applied to mineral fertilizer granules on the day of sowing. All types of fertilizers and biologics studied led to an increase in yield. The use of mineral fertilizers in pure form (untreated with biologics) increased the yield by 0.26...0.41 t/ha, modified – by 0.38...0.54 t/ha, biologics – by 0.06...0.19 t/ha, compared with the control (2.67 t/ha). The use of fertilizers and biologics increased the weight of 1000 grains – the best options were with modified NPK at a dose of 15 kg d. V./ha-49.4...53.0 g. the quality indicators of the studied agricultural practices did not have a significant impact. The highest payback of fertilizers by increasing the yield was recorded in the variant with pre-sowing treatment of seeds with Bisolbifit biologics and amounted to 7.7...11.4 kg/kg

The results of studying the influence of various biological and mineral fertilizers: Phytop 8.67, Agrofit-humate-B (BKG «AFG-B”) – on the growth and development of plants, as well as the yield and quality of kiwano fruits of the Green Dragon variety are presented. During the study, phenological and morphological observations, accounting and evaluation of the quality of the obtained fruits, analysis of the chemical composition of the fruits were carried out. The obtained data confirmed the positive effect of the use of biological preparations on the structure and quality of the resulting crop of kiwano, which will allow us to recommend this crop for cultivation in the territory of the Novosibirsk region, using experimentally proven methods and norms of fertilizer application during the growing season of plants.

In small-plot experiments established in 2001–2004 we studied the effect of the chemical composition of the plant dry matter of spring barley, varieties Kompakt and Jersey, on grain yields. A re­la­ti­ve­ly strong correlation was confirmed between the chemical composition of the plant dry matter and yields. The correlation was most intensive in the case of nitrogen (r = 0.536), phosphorus (r = 0.503), magnesium (r = 0.464) and sulphur (r = 0.431) at the beginning of shooting (DC 30); in the case of potassium (r = 0.557) at the beginning of tillering (DC 23) and calcium (r = 0.530) during ear formation (DC 55). A relatively strong correlation remained from the beginning of tillering to the beginning of ear formation and later decreased. The weather conditions of the year and variety significantly affected grain yields and also the previous crop was important. Grain yields of the variety Kompakt were statistically significantly lower than of the variety Jersey (6.02 t . ha−1 and 6.45 t . ha−1, respectively). The yields of barley grown after sugar-beet were the highest (6.30–6.79 t . ha−1); the grain yields of barley after maize decreased by 9.1–9.7 %. Higher grain yields of the Jersey variety resulted in levels of ­N-substances (11.35 %) lower than in the Kompakt variety (11.35 % and 11.60 %, resp.). No correlation was discovered between the nitrogen level in the plant dry matter during vegetation and the content of ­N-substances in barley grain.

<p>The paper describes the influence of long term (more than 30 years) fertilizer application to the changes of soil properties and identifies the influence of different fertilization rates to phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium accumulation in soil.</p><p>The research has been carried out at the Research Institute of Agriculture of Latvian University of Agriculture in the long-term subsurface drainage field established in Skrīveri in 1981 under the guidance of professor J. Štikāns.  The long-term drainage field was established in the uncultivated gleyic sod-podzolic <em>Hypostagnic</em> <em>Endogleyic Albeluvisol (Hypereutric), stw-ng-AB(he) </em>loam that had not been used in agriculture for 20 years before. The experimental field was established with four rates of mineral fertilizers: without fertilizers, N45P30K45; N90P60K90 N135P90K135 calculated in form of P<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub> and K<sub>2</sub>O. Since 1994 a seven-year crop rotation has been organized: 1) winter triticale, 2) potatoes, 3) spring wheat, 4) spring oilseed rape, 5) spring barley + perennial grasses (red clover, timothy), 6) perennial grasses, 1st year of using, and 7) perennial grasses 2nd year of using. Mineral fertilizers were applied according to the anticipated rates of plant nutrient elements annually during the cultivation of soil before sowing. For winter cultivars the phosphorus as superphosphate and potassium as potassium chloride fertilizers were cultivated before the sowing in autumn and nitrogen in form of ammonium nitrate was applied the next spring at the beginning of vegetation and at the stage of tillering. During the vegetation period all the required common agro-technical measures were taken – treatment with herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.</p><p>After 32 years of trial similar soil parameters showed significantly different content of nutrients related to the different level of fertilizer application. On a low background of fertilizers (N45P30K45) a small increase of mobile phosphorus in soil has only been observed in recent years. At the fertilizer rate N90P60K90 the content of available phosphorus and potassium in soil gradually begins to grow. Fertilization norm N135P90K135 caused a constant accumulation of nutrients in soil. In 30 years’ time the content of exchangeable phosphorus (calcium lactate – extractable) has increased more than 20 times (from 9 till 184 mg P<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub> kg<sup>-1</sup>) and exchangeable potassium (calcium lactate – extractable) has increased more than 4 times (from 64 till 223 mg K<sub>2</sub>O kg<sup>-1</sup>). There were no relation between different fertilizing rates and calcium and magnesium content in soil observed.</p><p> </p>


Two-factor field experiment was carried out at the research and training station of Ivanovo State Agricultural Academy in 2015-2017. The aim of the research was to establish cooperation effect of various biological products and modified mineral fertilizers on the productivity of spring barley with additional sowing of perennial grasses. As a result of the studies, it was found that the highest average yield of barley grain - 2.13 t / ha, was revealed in the conditions of timothy grass additional sowing as a sub-cover crop. At the same time, the combination of biological preparations Mizorin + Rizoagrin proved to be most effective; on average, the yield of grain and straw with this combination was 2.33 t / ha and 3.42 t / ha, respectively. When choosing meadow clover as a sub-cover crop, the maximum data on grain and barley straw yields of 2.92 t / ha and 4.26 t / ha, respectively, were obtained from the use of combination of biological products Mycorrhiza + Rizoagrin on the background of modified fertilizers. Under conditions of sowing a mixture of clover and timothy, the highest yields of grain and barley straw were 2.94 t / ha and 4.29 t / ha, respectively, obtained from the use of the biological product Rizoagrin on the background of modified fertilizers. In the course of the field experiment, positive data on additional income and profitability were obtained on most options, which were maximal in the conditions of replanting a mixture of herbs. Moreover, the largest value of the additional conditionally net income is 21.2 thousand rubles obtained from the use ofpreparation Rizoagrin on the background of modified fertilizers. And the highest profitability is 91.8 % in the absence of presowing treatment of seeds.
