This research aims to know the impact of covid-19 on the performance of local government in Indonesia. This study uses qualitative approaches — sampling techniques with Stratified Random Sampling, based on the level of worst exposure to COVID-19. The results showed that the COVID-19 outbreak had no significant effect on the financial performance of local governments in Indonesia. The COVID-19 outbreak affects economic activity and people’s lives. The increase in growth was mainly driven by optimism and improvement from the health side. Although economic growth is expected to improve, public activity will not recover due to the limited availability of vaccines. Nevertheless, central and local governments are optimistic about future economic growth after mass and comprehensive vaccination, especially those affected by COVID-19.

Land finance is an important means for local governments to develop a regional economy. Studying the impact of land finance on green economic growth has important practical significance for achieving high-quality economic growth in China. This article uses panel data from 283 prefecture-level cities in China to construct a spatial econometric model to study the impact of land finance on green economic growth. The research results show that land finance has a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of the green economy. The direct, indirect and total effects of land finance on green economic growth are all significantly negative, which indicates that the local government’s method of making up for the financial funding gap through land finance not only inhibited the green economic growth in the region, but also had an impact on neighboring areas. Local government competition has a regulating effect on the impact of land finance and urban green economic growth, and government competition has actually strengthened the inhibitory effect of land finance on green economic growth. The above conclusions can provide useful practical guidance for optimizing the development of land finance, standardizing local government behavior, and promoting green economic growth.

Most recent analysts suggest that many local governments are facing serious fiscal difficulties. This article contains reviews of the experience of nine nations, between 1976 and 1982, in terms of the impact of slow economic growth on local expenditures, particularly in terms of changes in intergovernmental grants, and this is followed by an examination of the kinds of revenue and expenditure adjustments which local authorities have made in the light of these changes. Generally speaking, the results reveal that although national government expenditure patterns vary during the latter part of the review period, in all cases grants were singled out as a target for expenditure reductions, and that there were few distinctions between federal and unitary systems. In most countries, local authorities responded by increasing local tax receipts, and most did not suffer any decline in total revenues in real terms, though revenues increased less rapidly during the latter part of the review period when economic growth was generally slower. Revenues were maintained largely by increases in nontax revenues and then by increases in taxes. However, the most intriguing finding is the variability in the behaviour of local fiscal systems in the nine countries studied. The paper is concluded with some tentative suggestions of explanations for this variability.

Local governments are increasingly developing electronic participation initiatives, expecting citizen involvement in local community affairs. Our objective was to assess e-participation and the extent of its change in local government in Greece. Using content analysis for 325 Greek municipal websites, we assessed e-participation status in 2017 and 2018 and examined the impact of change between these years. The assessment regards two consecutive years since the adoption of digital technologies by municipalities has been rapid. The main findings show that Greek local governments have made significant small- to medium-scale changes, in order to engage citizens and local societies electronically. We conclude that the integration of advanced digital technologies in municipalities remains underdeveloped. We propose that Greek municipalities need to consider incorporating new technologies, such as mobile apps, social media and big data, as well as e-decision making processes, in order to eliminate those obstacles that hinder citizen engagement in local government. Moreover, the COVID-19 outbreak has highlighted the need for enhancing e-participation and policymakers’ coordination through advanced digital technologies.

The research investigated the impact of infrastructure, economic growth and inflation on financial performance of infrastructure support companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange Period 2014-2019 which is proxied by ROA (Return on Assets), Tobin’s Q and PBV (Price to Book Value). The population of this research was the infrastructure support companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2014-2019. Research sampling was conducted using The Purposive Sampling Method. The data analysis was camed out using classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test and determinan (R2) test with SPSS 21. The research finding showed that the model has an effect on the financial performance as proxied by ROA. So the results of the hypothesis test show that: (1) Infrastructure development has a negative and significant effect on ROA. (2) The inflation rate has a positive and significant effect on ROA. (3) Economic growth has no significant effect on ROA. Meanwhile, the model has no effect on financial performance which is proxied in Tobin's Q and PBV.

The realization of the study observation period is the period before the transition budget BPHTB (Year 2010) and after the transition BPHTB (Year 2011). The research data were statistically tested with a different test of two paired samples. The results show that the performance of local government in Java have differences before and after the transition BPHTB from the central government to local governments. Several factors are important determinants of students achievement. Students positive perceptions about these factors contribute to their achievement. Considering importance of students perceptions about themselves, teachers support, and institutional climate in influencing their academic achievement, this study specifically examines students perceptions about themselves as learners, teachers support, and institutional climate for predicting their achievement. This research employed survey and correlational research designs. For this research, 372 students were randomly selected as a sample using cluster and stratified random sampling techniques. For data collection in this study, a questionnaire was adapted from Donahue (1994). For data analysis, both descriptive and inferential statistics were used, with help of SPSS. It was concluded from multiple regression analysis that university students achievement (i.e., dependent variable) can be significantly predicted from their self-perceptions, teachers support and institutional climate (i.e., independent variables).

The problems in this paper belong to the field of migration and economy. The connection between migration and the economy has been proven on a global level, and as far as the Republic of Croatia is concerned, it is especially important to observe it through the City of Zagreb, which is the most important migration and economic center in the Republic of Croatia. Also, the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union emphasized the observation and research of this connection because it created the preconditions for freer movement and employment of the population of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb within the European Union. The aim of this paper is to determine the contribution of migration to the economic growth of the City of Zagreb. The hypothesis presented in the paper is that there is a significant contribution of migration to the economic growth of the City of Zagreb. The disposition of the paper consists of six parts. The introduction explains the relevance of the topic, states the aim of the paper and hypotheses, explains the empirical part, the contribution of the paper and the disposition. The second part of the paper refers to the theoretical framework of the impact of migration on economic growth. The third part of the paper presents the migration processes of the City of Zagreb in the period from 2011 to 2018. The fourth part deals with economic activity in the City of Zagreb in the period from 2011 to 2017. The observed indicators of economic activity in the City of Zagreb are GDP and GDP per capita, and the graph in this part of the paper shows that GDP and GDP per capita in the observed period are higher at the end of the period than at the beginning. The fifth part of the paper refers to the empirical research of the contribution of migration to the economic growth of the City of Zagreb. The empirical part of the paper is based on correlations and regression analyses. This paper proves the hypothesis because the results indicate a significant impact of the variables of total and external migration on the GDP of the City of Zagreb and GDP per capita of the City of Zagreb. Decision-makers in the City of Zagreb can use the results of the research as a basis for maximizing the economic benefits they can get from migration. The conclusion provides an overview of the aim of the work, the results of the research, the limitations, the implications and the recommendations for future research.
