The article is devoted to the study of the problem of juvenile delinquency being significant for our society today. The paper presents state juvenile delinquency statistics over the past few years, which remain at a high level and give rise to severe consequences for society. Juvenile delinquency activity testifies to the imperfection of many social aspects of the state policy. The author examines the main criminogenic factors prompting minors to commit criminal acts. The research methodology is presented by analytical methods, methods of analysis, description and interpretation. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that the main criminogenic factors of juvenile delinquency are: a weak system of crime prevention measures, a lack of an educational function in the educational system, as well as conditions and way of life in a teenager’s family. Poor organization of social activities and leisure for adolescents, a lack of an individual approach and psychological support hiding petty hooliganism from the public are likely to lead to an increase of juvenile delinquency activity in the future. Analysis of these factors is a topical issue. In many aspects, the correct identification of the reasons of unlawful behavior of minors precisely contributes to the formation of effective countermeasures.

This article explores the management of relationships by King Juan Carlos I of Spain to legitimate the monarchy as an institution and build a new democracy after Franco’s death in 1975. The high level of public support during most of his reign shows there is a correlation between good relationship management and the loyalty of the subjects. Only when some basic relationship management principles of mutual benefit, such as trust and openness with his subjects, were violated the level of support of Juan Carlos I, and the monarchy as an institution started to decline. Nonetheless, the value of relationship management has proved durable since the new monarch, Felipe VI, was able to recover in a relatively short period of time the public support that Juan Carlos I enjoyed in the past. This fact indicates that even in the case of disruptive monarchies, such as Spain, the power of relationship management has shown effectiveness to legitimate the institution. However, at the same time it also points out that in a public opinion regime monarchies have to show exemplarity and that involves not only to create mutual benefit for the citizenship through good deeds, since Juan Carlos I always behaved professionally as a business and diplomatic representative, but that there is feeling of trust between the monarch and the subjects.

Let Fair Weather Bring Me Home: A Maltese Story (Excerpt from unpublished novel)Life in itself largely depends on one’s personal relationship with nature. Humankind develops as it discovers new modes of relating more efficiently with whatever surrounds it. Thus both the individual and the social aspects of such a condition greatly  depend on each other. Let Fair Weather Bring Me Home is a Maltese novel which strives to portray such a bond in terms of what it entails to live in a traditional village far removed from the center of the country where nature had to succumb to a great extent to the dictates of culture, and mainly to technology. The descriptive element of the novel, as evinced in this excerpt, is meant not only to construct a context within which the villagers live, but also to suggest a sharp contrast with the modern city, impersonal, overcrowded, noisy and inevitably distant from spaces which are considered to be still undeveloped, namely still left in their primeval state. The depiction of such a way of life in such a village, inspired by an environment typical of Southern Europe, may seem to be simply an evocation of the past, as it originally is, but it also recognizes the fact that such a relationship with nature still survives in various parts of various countries. The essential message of the excerpt is that modern ecological considerations are necessarily the expression of  humanity’s need to rediscover nature and to return to where it once belonged.

The capacity to work cooperatively, industry with the various agencies, concerned with milk production and quality control has been demonstrated. Cooperation among the agencies having responsibility in milk control, in a period of looming budget crisis, is more imperative than ever. While all the problem bearing on the public health aspects of milk control have not been solved, there do not appear to be any serious threats beyond the problem to provide maintenance efforts to assure continuance of the gains made. For the maintenance program it seems a very high level of cooperation among regulatory agencies is necessary and continued efforts of industry to work with regulatory bodies must be encouraged. Solving of new problems may have to be under-taken with out added resources, therefore making it necessary to develop better techniques to tackle new tasks without losing control in the older and more traditional areas. Inter-related efforts which were carefully developed in the past will be needed to supplement as well as complement to prevent deficits from affecting the whole coordinated milk control Program.

In the past decade, increasing attainment rates—the percentage of adult workers holding a degree beyond the secondary level—have replaced participation rates as a primary goal of higher education policy in many countries. The following eight strategies may have helped various countries achieve increases in attainment in sustainable ways: increasing degree-completion rates, reducing time-to-degree, expanding sub-bachelor's programs, making a high level of public commitment, relying on the private sector to foster growth, enrolling more students in universities, increasing tuition fees in the public sector, and recruiting abroad.

Abstract The current research investigates the environmental and social impact observed today within the vicinity of the Aposelemis dam in NE Crete, Greece. The areas investigated consist of the two adjacent villages of the reservoir, namely; Potamies and Avdou village, respectively downstream and upstream of the dam structure and lake. The research was based on local stakeholders’ opinion, observation and perception, and was conducted through semi-interviews based on a detailed multiple-choice questionnaire format. The present investigation, as a continuation of our former research (presented at ICED2020), examines the environmental and social impact from a different perspective, and focuses exclusively on narrow dam region, attempting to explore current impacts as well as any observed differences between the upstream and downstream village. Provided the intense objections of local communities in the past, presently expressed local opinion is also investigated. The public acceptance of potential hypothetical scenarios concerning area’s future exploitation is moreover explored. The investigation concluded in groundwater resources quantity differentiation between the upstream and downstream area, and also in evaluation differences concerning opinion about everyday life, landscape and the project itself. Current investigation’s results set the basis for management towards sustainability, with emphasis on the environmental and social aspects of the term.

Due to its low fares, public bus transportation as a means of urban road mobility is a popular choice, particularly among city inhabitants. However, owing to its high level of crowdedness, it poses a greater risk of security and safety, particularly during peak hours. Moreover, passengers have continued to voice their dissatisfaction about the services offered, as well as the criminality that occurs in the station and on the bus. The problem is exacerbated in developing countries due to increased travel demand and a lack of appropriate and integrated solutions. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to evaluate commuters' perceptions of their concerns about using public bus transportation in the city, with an emphasis on security and safety in bus operations. A questionnaire survey was used to obtain data from 500 users in the city for the study. Using the SPSS software, the data was analyzed. To find out what they think, a descriptive analysis was used. Overcrowding of buses, personal insecurity, and infrequent bus service are the three biggest concerns in using public bus transportation in the city, according to the results. Furthermore, most of the respondents were concerned about crime; specifically, pickpockets, inappropriate touching, and disrespectful language of drivers and conductors are the three top types of crime that concern passengers who use public bus transportation in the city. Additionally, most people felt more insecure while riding the bus and getting on/off the bus, particularly in the evening and between 9:00 and 12:00 p.m. local time. Thus, it is advised that the Addis Ababa City Transport Authority, the Public Bus Transport Enterprise, and other interested parties place a strong emphasis on security and safety when providing public transportation in the city. Furthermore, it is critical to perform regular victim surveys of passengers (as well as operators) to establish whether they have been criminally victimized on the bus system and by what type of crime. Equally important, regularly assess the likely usefulness of new crime prevention measures for reducing bus-related offenses and prepare an annual bus crime reduction strategy.

Language is a very large structure that enables people to agree among themselves, responds to the needs of people and reflects their race, history, culture, geography and way of life. The science that studies this great structure is linguistics. Linguistics is a wide field that explores the general and special features of the language, addresses the problems of the language, examines the commonalities and differences between languages, divides into different branches and is in contact with many branches of science and disciplines. One of the most important sub-branches of linguistics is the science of place names. The science of place names has become one of the most studied branches of name science, as it sheds light on the past of Turkish history and geography and examines language with many branches of science. Because, as the place names are examined, information about a society's language, ethnic history, culture, political history, geography, thought and way of life is obtained. It is seen that the concept of place names mostly covers special names given to a particular place in studies; however, in this study, the public naming given to any place in the Compilation Dictionary and not considered in the special name category is included. The determined landforms and the place names related to water have been classified in themselves by evaluating many semantic aspects.

This paper concerns an analysis regarding the performance of X-ray equipment as well as the radiological safety in veterinary facilities. Data were collected from 380 X-ray veterinary facilities countrywide during the on-site regulatory inspections carried out by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission. The analysis of the results shows that the majority of the veterinary radiographic systems perform within the acceptable limits; moreover, the design and shielding of X-ray rooms as well as the applied procedures ensure a high level of radiological safety for the practitioners, operators and the members of the public. An issue that requires specific attention in the optimization process for the proper implementation of veterinary radiology practices in terms of radiological safety is the continuous training of the personnel. The above findings and the regulatory experience gained were valuable decision-making elements regarding the type of the regulatory control of veterinary radiology practices in the new radiation protection framework.

In the completion of my practicum at the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) this summer, I worked to develop a surveillance knowledge product to support the national surveillance of developmental disorders. This project used Statistics Canada’s 2017 Canadian Survey on Disability to investigate the burden of developmental disorders in Canada. Developmental disorders are conditions with onset in the developmental period. They are associated with developmental deficits and impairments of personal, social, academic, and occupational function. The project objectives are to estimate the prevalence of developmental disorders in Canadians 15 years of age or older, overall and by age and sex, as well as report on the age of diagnosis, disability severity, and disability co-occurrence in those with developmental disorders. The majority of the analysis has been completed and preliminary results completed, which cannot be released prior to PHAC publication. Although not highly prevalent, developmental disorders are associated with a high level of disability in young Canadians. Early detection and interventions have been shown to improve health and social outcomes among affected individuals. Understanding the burden of developmental disorders in Canada is essential to the development of public health policies and services.
