The article discusses some aspects to be taken into account when preparing polygraph examiners in order to form skills for conducting polygraph tests using search tests related to the method of revealing hidden information. Search tests have their own characteristics and differ from other tests, both in the degree of complexity and the composition of the methodological techniques used, and in the degree of accuracy and reliability of the results obtained. The use of search tests assumes that the polygraph examiner has not only knowledge, but also practical skills to perform a certain sequence of actions for their use, as well as the interpretation of the results obtained. Special attention is paid to the consideration of a number of difficulties that arise when using search tests, directly related to the interpretation of the information received and the development of techniques for the formation of skills for solving them. The authors put the main emphasis on the fact that in the process of training polygraph examiners, self-conducting polygraph tests when solving problems modeled on the basis of situations from practical activities, as well as a detailed consideration of the causes of psychophysiological reactions, will contribute to improving the level of professional competence in decision-making in nonstandard situations. In addition, conducting a detailed analysis of the results obtained, taking into account the interpretation of the recorded reactions when using search tests, will help to reduce the likelihood of making errors of various types in the real conditions of the future polygraph examiner’s professional activity.

The human factor problem should be solved by identifying, qualifying and preventing the erroneous actions of the air traffic controllers. It is presented two schemes explaining the structure of human qualimetry factor and the interaction of the components of the ICAO safety concept, where the main emphasis is on an aviation personnel’ attitude to dangerous actions or conditions, which is revealed by the qualimetry of the decision-making processes’ characteristics: the attitude towards risk (the main dominants and fuzzy assessments), levels of claims, dangerous qualities and preferences systems. The preferences systems are considered as ordered characteristics and indicators of professional activity, which are subjectively compared with the positions of influence on flight safety. The spectrum of n = 21 characteristic errors was formed considering the recommendations of ICAO, EUROCONTROL and accident statistics. It is determined that procedures of collecting the information of errors danger contribute their recognition, memorization, and avoidance: controllers who passed the test according to the proposed method before training made by one third fewer errors in its process. Two criteria for assessing group preferences are realized: the level of consensus (known as Kendall’s coefficient of concordance) and the severity of the ranking, determined by the presence of "related" ranks, for which a special indicator is introduced. It is defined that this indicator should be determined both for the sample of respondents and for the preferences group systems of developed with the chosen method of individual opinions’ aggregation. It was performed the comparative analysis of complex decision-making strategies of effectiveness in the construction of a preferences group systems m = 65 controllers: sum and averaging of ranks, classical criteria (Wald's, Savage's and Laplace's criterion), optimal prediction, applying the non-parametric optimization of the preferences group systems. The non-parametric optimization of the group system of pre-readings was carried out by Kemeny median and it was proved that it was the closest to all the results obtained by other methods and strategies

The Republic of Belarus in series implements an elaborate model of socially oriented market economy. The analysis of the educational level of the Belarusian population revealed that the high rate of state development is provided by specialists with specialized secondary education. The analysis of teaching situation in specialized secondary schools in respect to accountants’ training allowed to discover contradictions in the formulated aims and planned results of vocational education. Although the Republic of Belarus has not joined the Bologna process yet, it does not reject the key approaches of European education used to ensure the organizational and pedagogical conditions of the teaching process. The competency-based approach to choosing of the contents of teaching is not only widely researched, but is being introduced into the educational standards of different specialties. But the system of competences of a graduate proving its competence remains sometimes ill-conceived. The system analysis of concepts of the competency-based approach in Pedagogics and Management let us formulate the essence of competences of a specialist working in the real economy. In this research the professional competence is determined as willingness and ability of specialists to implement their knowledge, skills and experience in the real conditions of professional activity. The peculiarities of forming of professional competence are reflected by the example of accountants’ training. In the context outlined above professional competence of an accountant can be defined as an integrative personality characteristic of a specialist formed on the basis of and in the process of learning theory as well as getting expertise in economics, finance and accounting, acquiring professional skills and experience. It reflects the readiness of a specialist to solve professional problems in the dynamics of their development. The analysis of the peculiarities of accountants’ work that are important in terms of innovative development of economy and the synthesis of theoretical approaches to the concept of professional competence allowed us to substantiate and formulate the methodology of determining the professional component of specialists’ competence. The essence of the methodology lies in the fact that during the development of the model of professional component of a specialist’s competence consisting of a system of competences, the following conditions should be taken into account: • Competencies pertaining to knowledge and skills which pass down from generation to generation, the ability to use them in professional activities as well as professional consciousness. These competences are generalized and systematized in the educational standard of the specialty; • Competencies that define the essence of the process and the results of professional activities described by Human Resource Management and dependant on the current state and development of the society. The proposed algorithm was tested among the students of the specialty 2-25 01 35 Accounting, analysis and control at the level of specialized secondary education in the Republic of Belarus. Key words: professional competence, specialized secondary education, professional activities, competency-based approach.

Franchising has long been a method by which organizations seek to expand and facilitate local market development. However, franchising as a growth strategy can often be hampered by lack of suitable franchisees. To mitigate this shortage, some franchisors have engaged in recruiting franchisees internally from the ranks of their employees in addition to the traditional approach of recruiting franchisees externally. Predominantly franchisees are individuals rather than corporations and thus purchasing a franchise should most commonly be characterized as a consumer acquisition. To explore the relationship between subjective knowledge, perceived risk, and information search behaviors when purchasing a franchise qualitative interviews were conducted with franchisees from the restaurant industry. Half of these respondents were externally recruited having never worked for the franchisor and half were internally recruited having previously been employees of the franchisor. The external recruits expressed a strong desire to own their own business and engaged in extensive decision-making processes with significant information search when purchasing their franchises. Contrastingly, the internal recruits expressed a strong desire to be their own boss and engaged in limited, bordering on habitual decision-making processes with negligible information search when acquiring their franchises. The results reveal that differences in subjective knowledge and perceived risk appear to significantly impact the extent of information search between these two groups. A model of the relationship between subjective knowledge, perceived risk and information search in the purchasing of a franchise is developed that reconciles these findings. The findings also have practical implications for franchisors’ franchisee recruiting efforts which are integral to their capacity to develop local markets.

Among the new trends in technology that have emerged through the Industry 4.0, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT) are crucial for the real-time data acquisition. This data acquisition, together with its transformation in valuable information, are indispensable for the development of real-time indicators. Moreover, real-time indicators provide companies with a competitive advantage over the competition since they enhance the calculus and speed up the decision-making and failure detection. Our research highlights the advantages of real-time data acquisition for supply chains, developing indicators that would be impossible to achieve with traditional systems, improving the accuracy of the existing ones and enhancing the real-time decision-making. Moreover, it brings out the importance of integrating technologies 4.0 in industry, in this case, CPS and IoT, and establishes the main points for a future research agenda of this topic.

The accurate and frequent measurement of the drilling fluid’s rheological properties is essential for proper hydraulic management. It is also important for intelligent drilling, providing drilling fluid data to establish the optimization model of the rate of penetration. Appropriate drilling fluid properties can improve drilling efficiency and prevent accidents. However, the drilling fluid properties are mainly measured in the laboratory. This hinders the real-time optimization of drilling fluid performance and the decision-making process. If the drilling fluid’s properties cannot be detected and the decision-making process does not respond in time, the rate of penetration will slow, potentially causing accidents and serious economic losses. Therefore, it is important to measure the drilling fluid’s properties for drilling engineering in real time. This paper summarizes the real-time measurement methods for rheological properties. The main methods include the following four types: an online rotational Couette viscometer, pipe viscometer, mathematical and physical model or artificial intelligence model based on a Marsh funnel, and acoustic technology. This paper elaborates on the principle, advantages, limitations, and usage of each method. It prospects the real-time measurement of drilling fluid rheological properties and promotes the development of the real-time measurement of drilling rheological properties.

AbstractStudent dropout can be conceptualized as a decision-making process, consisting of different phases. Based on previous literature on student dropout, decision-making, and action-phases, we proposed that the process of developing dropout intentions includes the following phases: non-fit perception, thoughts of quitting/changing, deliberation, information search, and a final decision. In the present cross-sectional study, we empirically investigated if the assumed phases can be distinguished from each other, if the phases follow the presumed order, and whether each phase is associated with certain characteristics. Furthermore, we considered a strict separation between quitting studies completely and changing a major. For this purpose, we analyzed data of N = 1005 students (average age of 23.0 years; 53% female; 47% male) from a German University. By using confirmatory factor analyses, we found the supposed factor structure for the different phases concerning both kinds of dropout, quitting studies, and changing majors. In each process, structural equation modelling indicated positive relations between adjoining phases. The factor values correlated to a substantial amount with an assortment of variables associated with student dropout. On a theoretical level, the conception of different phases of student dropout helps to get a better understanding of regulatory processes in the context of student dropout.
