ABSTRACT Wireless technology, better known as Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi (Wirelles Fidelity) is a wireless connection that connects computer networks, such as mobile phones that use radio technology so that users can transfer data quickly and safely. The need for Wi-Fi is clearly visible, both at home, in offices, on campus, and business centers. Wi-Fi user traffic is getting higher, but the installation of Access Points is not right yet, many installed access points do not determine the distance between access points. Causes signal buildup with other access points and areas not covered by the access point or blankspot area. The number of improper access point installations is a problem, namely unstable Wi-Fi connections and many places that are not covered by Wi-Fi or blankspot signals. One of the methods used in determining the installation of an access point is to use the Simulated Annealing and Trilateration method. This study will discuss the optimization of the installation of access points using the trilateration method used to measure the distance between access points and Simulated Aneling is used to measure the strength of Wi-Fi signals. From the results of installing Access Points using the method of trialteration and simulated annealing can reduce the blankspot area and reduce the buildup of signals with other access points. Keywords: access point, Trilateration, Anneling Simulation, Signal, Area.

Rogue Access Points (RAPs) is one of the leading security threats in current network scenario, if not properly handled in time could lead from minor network faults to serious network failure. Most of the current solutions to detect rogue access points are not automated and are dependent on a specific wireless technology. In this paper we propose the integrated solution for detection and eliminate the rogue access points. Rogue detection algorithm is also proposed. This Methodology has the following properties: (1) it doesn’t require any specialized hardware; (2) the proposed algorithm detects and completely eliminates the RAPs from network; Our proposed solution is effective and low cost.

Abstract: The popularity of location based applications is undiminished today. They require accurate location information which is a challenging issue in indoor environments. Wireless technologies can help derive indoor positioning data. Especially, the WiFi technology is a promising candidate due to the existing and almost ubiquitous Wi-Fi infrastructure. The already deployed WiFi devices can also serve as reference points for localization eliminating the cost of setting up a dedicated system. However, the primary purpose of these Wi-Fi systems is data communication and not providing location services. This accuracy can be increased by carefully placing the Wi-Fi access points to cover the given territory properly. This method is based on simulated annealing which finds the optimal number and placement of Wi-Fi access points with regard to indoor positioning and investigate its performance in a real environment scenario via simulations. Keywords: Wi-fi access point (WAP), simulated annealing, router, wireless, placement, locationing.

In many situations, health care professionals need to evaluate the respiration rate (RR) for home patients. Moreover, when cases are more than health care providers’ capacity, it is important to follow up cases at home. In this paper, we present a complete system that enables healthcare providers to follow up with patients with respiratory-related diseases at home. The aim is to evaluate the use of a mobile phone’s accelerometer to capture respiration waveform from different patients using mobile phones. Whereas measurements are performed by patients themselves from home, and not by professional health care personnel, the signals captured by mobile phones are subjected to many unknowns. Therefore, the validity of the signals has to be evaluated first and before any processing. Proper signal processing algorithms can be used to prepare the captured waveform for RR computations. A validity check is considered at different stages using statistical measures and pathophysiological limitations. In this paper, a mobile application is developed to capture the accelerometer signals and send the data to a server at the health care facility. The server has a database of each patient’s signals considering patient privacy and security of information. All the validations and signal processing are performed on the server side. The patient’s condition can be followed up over a few days and an alarm system may be implemented at the server-side in case of respiration deterioration or when there is a risk of a patient’s need for hospitalization. The risk is determined based on respiration signal features extracted from the received respiration signal including RR, and Autoregressive (AR) moving average (ARMA) model parameters of the signal. Results showed that the presented method can be used at a larger scale enabling health care providers to monitor a large number of patients.

The access points (APs) in a coal mine wireless local area network (WLAN) are generally sparsely distributed. It can, with difficulty, satisfy the basic requirements of the fingerprint positioning based on Wi-Fi. Currently, the effectiveness of positioning is ensured by deploying more APs in an underground tunnel, which significantly increases system cost. This problem can be solved by using the Virtual Access Point (VAP) method that introduces virtual access points (VAPs), which can be virtually arranged in any part of the positioning area without installing actual access points. The drawback of the VAP method is that the generated received signal strength (RSS) value of a VAP is calculated based on the mapping of RSS value from only one corresponding access point (AP). This drawback does not consider the correlation between different AP signals and the generated RSS value of a VAP, which makes the modeling of fingerprint samples and real-time RSS collection incomplete. This study proposed a Multi-Association Virtual Access Point (MA-VAP) method takes into account the influence of multi-association. The multi-association coefficient is calculated based on the correlation between the RSS values of a VAP and multiple access points (APs). Then, the RSS value generated by a VAP is calculated using the multi-association function. The real-time collected RSS values from multiple APs related to this VAP are the input of the multi-association function. The influence of the number of VAPs and their arrangement on positioning accuracy is also analyzed. The experimental positioning results show that the proposed MA-VAP method achieves better positioning performance than the VAP method for the same VAP arrangement. Combined with the Weight K-Nearest Neighbors (WKNN) algorithm and Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA) algorithm, the positioning error of the MA-VAP method of the error distance cumulative distribution function (CDF) at 90% is 4.5 m (with WKNN) and 3.5 m (with KPCA) in the environment with non-line-of-sight (NLOS) interference, and the positioning accuracy is improved by 10% (with WKNN) and 22.2% (with KPCA) compared with the VAP method. The MA-VAP method not only effectively solves the fingerprint positioning problem when APs are sparse deployed, but also improves the positioning accuracy.

As satellite communications provide ubiquitous coverage, they play a key role in providing Internet connectivity in remote or marginalized areas, so as to enable the vision of a truly global connectivity of the Internet of Things (IoT). However, these areas often lack reliable electricity supply. Thus, this paper proposes a satellite internet access point powered by solar energy, so that a stable Internet connection can be provided. The access point provides Wi-Fi coverage so that sensors, IoT, and devices can connect to the access point using the Wi-Fi, a common wireless technology. Our design took some cost-saving measures to make it affordable and selected the components that require minimal maintenance operations. The satellite access point costs about USD $500, and can provide four days of Internet connectivity without solar energy.

This study aimed to provide explanation and overview related to the law of tarawih prayers at home in an pandemic situation (Covid-19), the law of performing prayers at home with the intention of participating in congregation in the mosque, and the law of reciting the mushaf or mobile phones while leading tarawih prayer. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis techniques and library research. The results show that if in an area where the potential for outbreaks of the covid-19 outbreak is high and there has been an appeal from the local government and scholars (MUI), then in these state the more important thing is to perform tarawih prayers at home, both congregationally with family members, and this is the preferred, or individually; (2) invalidity of the prayers of a person who follows the congregational prayers outside the mosque building, where the scholars agree that he must go to the mosque; and (3) it is permissible to recite from the mushaf in the sunnah (optional) prayers, such as tarawih prayer for imams who do not memorize the Koran. As for the obligatory prayers, it is disliked because there is no need to do so. This law also applies to someone who wants to recite the Koran with the software of Koran on mobile phones.
