The nodule bacteria were isolated from the nodules of cowpea. On the basis of phenotypical properties these rhizobia were referred to slow growing bacteria of Bradyrhizobium genus. Interaction features of cowpea with the nodule bacteria of cowpea (Bradyrhizobium sp. (Vigna)) and soybean (Bradyrhizobium japonicum) on nitrogen-free substrate and in soil culture were studied. It was established that the cowpea rhizobia strains possess high specificity to the host plant, promote symbiotic nitrogen fixation activity in 1,8-2,6 times and increase plants aboveground mass yield in 1,4-3,4 times, in comparison with control. The significant positive influence of the active soybean microsymbiont Bradyrhizobium japonicum 46 on the growth and development of cowpea was shown.

This paper reports a study of biological nitrogen fixation in two sand dune regions of New South Wales where planted Acacia spp. had been used in revegetation programmes. At one location (Bridge Hill Ridge), natural regrowth had produced a complex plant community, and native legumes in addition to the planted acacias were present. The other area (Wanda Beach) was a grossly disturbed site which contained only the planted species. Symbiotic fixation in association with Australian legumes occurred at both locations at rates within the range reported by other authors. Distinct seasonal changes were apparent, with higher activities in the cooler months. The legume association seemed the only source of biologically fixed nitrogen at Bridge Hill Ridge, but at Wanda Beach cyanobacteria in an algal mat also made a contribution. Fast and slow-growing bacterial strains were obtained from root nodules of native legumes at both sites and were classed as Rhizobium sp. and Bradyrhizobium sp., respectively. This division was supported by the pattern of serological affinities of the isolates and by differences in their protein profiles demonstrated by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Two atypical types of root-nodule bacteria were found at Bridge Hill Ridge: non-nodulating, fast-growing isolates and an abnormally slow-growing Bradyrhizobium sp.

We conducted 3 laboratory experiments to determine how face consciousness influences consumption of counterfeit luxury goods, along with the moderating roles of usage occasion and brand prominence. The participants in the first study were 138 Chinese undergraduates who were allocated to a 2 × 2 design to evaluate their intention to purchase a counterfeit luxury item that would be used either in public or in private. In Studies 2 and 3, using two 2 × 2 designs we evaluated the purchase intention of the participants (132 and 136, respectively) in order to investigate the moderating role of brand prominence. The results showed that participants' face consciousness had a significant positive influence on intention to purchase counterfeit luxury goods. In addition, the products' usage occasion and brand prominence positively moderated the influence that face consciousness had on counterfeit luxury item purchase intention of our participant groups.

In recent years, the increasingly innovative and diverse mobile devices have significantly promoted the mobile device-based shopping. What factors influence this kind of shopping? Will consumers purchase things with mobile devices? These are two topics that need to be explored. Through the literature analysis and the empirical research, this study aims to analyze the quality of information, system, service and mobile devices on the mobile device-based shopping platform. Moreover, it studies the attitude of consumers towards mobile device-based shopping, their willingness to adopt the shopping method and the behavioral relationship model in the actual mobile device-based shopping as well as compares the groups of different frequencies of the Internet use in terms of the relationship model.
With the convenient sampling, this study made an investigation among some of those who had experienced shopping on such mobile devices as tablets or smart phones. The 765 retrieved valid copies of questionnaire were divided into three groups—“often”, “average” and “seldom” according to the frequency consumers undertook mobile device-based shopping and were then compared. The results showed that there were significant differences among the three groups in four relationship paths, including: 1) the information quality of the mobile device-based shopping platform has more significant positive influence on consumers’ attitude path of mobile device-based shopping in the “average” group than in the other two; 2) the service quality of the mobile device-based shopping platform has more significant positive influence on consumers’ attitude path of mobile device-based shopping in the “seldom” group than in the other two; 3) the preference for mobile device-based shopping has much significant positive influence on the behavior path of mobile device-based shopping in the “often” group. According to the research results, different groups have different behavior models. These results can serve as reference information in the decision-making of those who establish mobile device-based shopping platforms and manufacture mobile devices.

In recent times, an alternative synthesis pathway involving severe plastic deformation for Mg-based materials has been explored involving the generation of turnings according to a set of machining parameters and cold compaction into billets followed by hot extrusion. This is known as the turning induced deformation (TID) method and has shown potential to alter the properties of resulting Mg-based materials for the better, not to mention economic benefits arising from this processing method. This work summarizes exploratory efforts involving this method for synthesis of Mg-based materials. The TID method resulted in overall superior properties compared to conventional processing methods, while two distinct parameters (high depth of cut and low cutting speed) were found to have significant positive influence on the final material properties, and as such are considered to be suitable basis on which further exploratory work in this field may be conducted.

Organic nitrogen plays a significant role in the fermentation performance and production of esters and higher alcohols. This study assessed the use of yeast protein hydrolysate (YPH) as a nitrogen source for grape must fermentation. In this study, we prepared an enzymatic protein hydrolysate using yeasts recovered from a previous fermentation of wine. Three treatments were performed. DAP supplementation was used as a control, while two YPH treatments were used. Low (LDH) and high degrees of hydrolysis (HDH), 3.5% and 10%, respectively, were chosen. Gas chromatography and principal component analysis indicated a significant positive influence of YPH-supplementations on the production of esters and higher alcohols. Significantly high concentrations of 3-methyl-1-penthanol, isoamyl alcohol, isobutanol, and 2-phenylethanol were observed. Significant odorant activity was obtained for 3-methyl-1-pentanol and ethyl-2-hexenoate. The use of YPH as nitrogen supplementation is justified as a recycling yeasts technique by the increase in volatile compounds.
