The purpose of this study was conducted to determine: (1) how is the description of critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence and learning independence of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. (2) whether there is an influence on the ability to think critically, emotional intelligence and independent learning together on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. (3) whether there is a positive influence on the ability to think critically on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. (4) whether there is a positive effect of emotional intelligence on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. (5) whether there is a positive effect of independent learning on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. This type of research is an ex-post facto research which is causality with a research sample of 57 students from class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa in the 2019/2020 school year using the sampling technique using cluster random sampling method. Data collection techniques using tests, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that: (1) critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence and learning independence of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa were in the good category while the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa were in very high criteria. (2) the ability to think critically, emotional intelligence and independent learning together have an effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sunggguminasa. (3) the ability to think critically has a positive effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. (4) emotional intelligence has a positive effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. (5) independent learning has a positive effect on mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa.

This study aims to improve critical thinking skills and mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Tingkir Tengah 02 Salatiga in the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Critical thinking and learning outcomes are low because the teacher uses the lecture method. The author chooses the Open-Ended model assisted by powerpoint media as a solution. Research procedures include planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed an increase from the initial condition with 9 students or 25.71% completed and 29 students or 74.29% not complete. The implementation of the first cycle results obtained 29 students or 82.86% completed and 6 students or 17.14% did not complete. Cycle II as a follow-up and improvement of the first cycle with the acquisition of achieving attainment of 35 students or 100%. The results obtained by the conclusion of the application of Open-Ended learning assisted by powerpoint media can improve critical thinking skills and mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Tingkir Tengah 02 Salatiga second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year.

This study aims to improve critical thinking skills and mathematics learning outcomes of grade 5 students of SDN Pledokan District. Semarang through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research is a classroom action research with 2 learning cycles. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire critical thinking instruments and test questions for student learning outcomes in mathematics. The data analysis technique used is comparative descriptive analysis pre cycle, cycle I and cycle II. The results of the research resulted: (1) there was an increase in the ability of students from pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. In the pre-cycle condition of students' critical thinking skills in the high category 18.75%, the medium category 37.5%, and the low low category 43.75%, in the first cycle increased in the high category 31.25%, the medium category 56, 25% and in the low category 18.75%, in the second cycle again increased to the high category 43.75%, the moderate category 50% and the low category 6.25%. Mastery learning outcomes of students in mathematics in pre-cycle reach KKM only 37%, then in the first cycle increased to 43.75% and in the second cycle again increased to 75%.

This study aims to describe the effect of student confidence in mathematics on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. This research is a quasi-experimental study, the sample in this study is X class students majoring in hotel accommodation as many as 30 students. Retrieval of data using questionnaire and test instruments. The results of this study indicate that the average student confidence in mathematics is 58.06 with a standard deviation of 3.65. While the ability to think critically and student learning outcomes obtained an average of 56.94 with a standard deviation of 9.63. The influence of students' trust in mathematics on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes have a positive effect shown by F arithmetic (4,485) ≥ F table (4.18) or the significance number in ANOVA 0.043 ≤ 0.05. The magnitude of the effect of students' trust in mathematics on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes of 13.4%. The regression equation obtained by Y ̂ = 0.866 + 0.966X + ϵ. This means that if the value of students' trust in mathematics is 1 unit, the value of the predicted variable will increase by 0.966. The higher the student's confidence in mathematics, the ability to think critically and student learning outcomes will also increase.

The study aims to improve the learning outcomes in the field of knowledge and inquiry skill in class VIII 5 SMP Negeri 14 Kendari on the subject matter of light in atmosphere as the effect of applying the guided inquiry learning model assisted by science KIT. The method of the study used a classroom action research with research design is cycle model. The research subject is the students of class VIII 5 SMP Negeri 14 Kendari in the academic year 2016/2017 which consist of 26 students. The learning data achievements of the learners' realm were obtained through the learning result test (cycle test), the skill data of the learners were obtained through the inquiry sheet, and then was analyzed used the descriptive statistics.  Results of data analysis are: 1) learning outcomes increased from 60,31 in cycle I to 75 in cycle II; 2) the students group inquiry skill increased form average value 2.68 (enough category) in the cycle I to 3.15 (good category) in cycle II; 3) the students mastery learning percentage increase from 42.31% (11 students) in cycle I to 77% (20 students) in cycle II. It could be concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry learning model assisted by science KIT could improve the learning outcomes of knowledge and inquiry skill domain on Class VIII 5 SMP Negeri 14 Kendari in the subject matter of light in atmosphere. The results of observations of class VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang shows, students have low of the critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. Students tend to be passive and less critical. Effort to improve the quality of learning is by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research was conducted with the aim of improving students' critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes IPA in class VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang through the implementation of PBL. This type of research is a Class Action Research (PTK) is a qualitative research. This research data in the form of critical thinking skills, student’s learning, and enforceability of learning by using PBL. Collection technique that is a matter of cognitive tests, tests about critical thinking skills, field notes and documentation conducted by the observer. Based on exposure and research findings, obtained two conclusions. First, the critical thinking skills of students in the second cycle increases than I. Mean thinking skills of first cycle is 1.50 were classified as less critical with a percentage of 23 percent, while in the second cycle mean of critical thinking skills 2.36 is classified as critical percentage of 76 percent . From these data indicate that the critical thinking skills increased by 53 percent. Second, in classical mastery learning outcomes of students has increased from the first cycle to the second cycle. The results of classical learning in the first cycle of 67.6 percent, while in the second cycle by 80 percent. This shows an increase in cycle I and II of 30.3 percent. Hasil observasi pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang menunjukkan, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar rendah. Siswa cenderung pasif dan kurang kritis. Salah satu usaha meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran adalah dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL).Tujuan penelitian ini meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang dengan model pembelajaran PBL. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindak Kelas (PTK) merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data keterampilan berpikir kritis, hasil belajar siswa, dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran PBL. Teknik pengumpulan yaitu soal tes kognitif, soal tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi oleh observer. Berdasarkan paparan dan temuan penelitian, diperoleh dua simpulan. Pertama, keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada siklus II mengalami kenaikan dibanding siklus I. Rerata keterampilan berpikir siklus 1 sebesar 1,50 yang tergolong kurang kritis dengan persentase sebesar 23 persen sedangkan pada siklus II rerata keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 2,36 yang tergolong kritis dengan persentase sebesar 76 persen. Dari data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis meningkat sebesar 53 persen. Kedua, secara klasikal ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Hasil belajar klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 67,6 persen sedangkan pada siklus II sebesar 80 persen. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pada siklus I dan II sebesar 30,3 persen.

Critical thinking is one of the skills students must have in mathematics learning so that students can make the right decisions when solving mathematical problems. This study aims to analyze the effects of the POGIL on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. This research is an quasy experimental study, with a post test only control design research design. The population in this study were all students of grade VIII SMP N 2 Kemangkon in the academic year of 2018/2019. The sampling was done by cluster random sampling techniques and it obtained two sample classes namely class VIII C as an experimental class using learning with the POGIL model and class VIII B as control class using conventional learning models. The instrument used in this study was post-test mathematical critical thinking skill. Based on the result of hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test with a 95% confidence level, it shows that POGIL has an effect on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills.

This study aims to determine the effect of the experimental method using PhET simulation on the ability of critical thinking and learning outcomes in review from the initial knowledge of students of class VIII MTsN Maguwoharjo Sleman. The population used is class VIII which is divided into 4 classes of parallel namely class VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D. Sampling is done randomly, so that obtained class VIII B as control class and class VIII C as experimental class treated with experimental method using PhET simulation. Technique of data retrieval is done by giving pretest to know early knowledge of student. Then do different learning, then students are given a post to know the ability of critical thinking and learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing was done by Mancova test using SPSS 17.0 program. based on the Mancova test that has been done, obtained the significance of the critical thinking ability 0,00 and the learning result is also 0.00. Since all of the significance below 0.05 means there is an influence of the application of experimental methods using PhET simulations to critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes</p><p class="AbstractEnglish"> </p><p class="AbstrakIndonesia"><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapkan metode eksperimen menggunakan simulasi PhET terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar di tinjau dari pengetahuan awal siswa kelas VIII MTsN Maguwoharjo Sleman. Populasi yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII yang terbagi dalam 4 kelas parallel yaitu kelas VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII B sebagai kelas control dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan simulasi PhET. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pretest untuk mengetahui pengetahuan awal siswa. Kemudian dilakukan pembelajaran yang berbeda, selanjutnya siswa diberi postest untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajarnya. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji Mancova dengan menggunakan program SPSS 17.0. berdasarkan uji Mancova yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai signifikansi kemampuan berpikir kritis 0,00 dan hasil belajar juga 0,00. Karena semua signifikansinya di bawah 0,05 berarti terdapat pengaruh penerapan metode eksperimen menggunakan simulasi PhET terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa.</p>

This research was conducted with problems in class VIII students, amounting to 20 students at the Satya Wacana Christian Middle School in Salatiga regarding critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. Therefore researchers want to take action to improve learning by using the Think Talk and Write (TTW) model. This type of research is the study of class action using Kurt Lewin's research design. The instrument of data collection uses test instruments, observation sheets, and questionnaires. Analysis of the data used is descriptive comparative. The indicator of the success of critical thinking skills and learning outcomes is 75%. The results obtained from this study are that there is an increase in critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of class VIII Satya Wacana Christian Middle School Salatiga. In the first cycle the results of critical thinking skills are 55% of students who have high critical thinking skills, while in the second cycle there is an increase of 85% of students who have high critical thinking skills. Then in the pre-cycle learning outcomes there were 25% of students whose grades reached KKM, the first cycle there were 70% of students completed KKM, and in the second cycle there was an increase of 90% of students who completed KKM. So the conclusion in this study that the use of Think Talk and Write (TTW) learning model can improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in social studies subjects of class VIII Satya Wacana Christian Middle School Salatiga.

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of critical thinking skills and students self concept on student learning outcomes by applying the inquiry model to class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Bakauheni, South Lampung. This research method is a quantitative research with the type of survey research. The population in this study amounted to 93 students. The sample used in this study amounted to 90 students. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. This study uses data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, documentation, literature study. The results of this study indicate that; 1) The effect of critical thinking skills on student learning outcomes can be shown by the value of R square = 0.556 or the contribution of critical thinking skills to student learning outcomes of 55.6%. 2) the influence of self concept on learning outcomes can be indicated by the value of R square = 0.564 or it means that the contribution of self concept to learning outcomes is 56.4%. 3) The effect of critical thinking skills and self concept variables on learning outcomes is 0.565. This means that the influence of critical thinking skills and self concept variables on the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Bakauheni is 56.5%. These results indicate that critical thinking skills and self concept have an influence on learning outcomes by 56.5%.
