Experimental work is totally focused on the inclusive work material Incoloy 800 because of its low cost and effective thermal properties The aim of this proposed work is to find out the optimum condition using RSM technique under the influence of effective parameters which includes MRR, TWR, Surface Roughness so that process parameters such as pulse on time, current, voltage can be optimized while working with Incoloy 800 as a work material. Incoloy 800 has inevitable properties in heat application and machining because of its nickel, chromium and iron content. It also comes under the category of super alloy having various important application in aerospace industries. Chromium present in the alloy helps in heat resistance. Internal oxidation during machining is resisted by iron present in the alloy. The nickel content present in Incoloy 800 maintains ductile and austenitic structure. Therefore, alloy 800 can be machined easily as per desired shape. Because of its moderate strength, low cost and good resistance to oxidation and carburization at elevated temperatures, alloy 800 and its grades are center of attraction for alloy manufacturing companies

Inconel 718 is a high nickel content super alloy having high strength at elevated temperatures and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. EDM process has many advantages over traditional manufacturing process during the machining of inconel 718. In this study experiments were conducted based on the L16 orthogonal array on inconel 718 material using tungsten-carbide (W-C) electrode tool material with kerosene as a dielectric fluid to determine the optimum EDM parameters along with circle(C), square(S), rectangle(R) and triangle (T) tool geometry which contribute to material removal rate (MRR), tool wear rate (TWR) &surface roughness (SR) in machining of inconel 718. Data were optimized using Desirability approach technique. Experimental results show that the current and pulse on time are most influencing parameters that are directly proportional to MRR and inversely proportional to TWR, SR. The rectangle tool geometry gave better results compared to other geometry

A new experimental inorganic fibre currently under development at the Du Pont Company is a continuous filament, polycrystalline a-alumina yarn designated Fibre FP. This fibre is suitable for reinforcing a variety of materials, especially non-ferrous metal castings because of a combination of properties such as high strength and modulus, stability at elevated temperatures, composite castability and potentially low cost. Fibre FP, essentially > 99 % a-Al 2 O 3 , is made by a novel continuous ceramic fibre process utilizing low cost textile fibre spinning technology and is produced as a yarn containing 210 filaments. The modulus of Fibre FP is 379 GPa (55 x 10 6 lbf in -2 ) with a tensile strength of 1380 MPa (200000 lbf in -2 ). The room temperature strength and modulus of the fibre are retained to about 1000 °C. Recently, higher strength FP fibres with a tensile strength of 2070 MPa (300000 lbf in -2 ) have been demonstrated on a laboratory scale.

Replication of metallic high-aspect-ratio microscale structures (HARMS) by compression molding has been demonstrated recently. Molding replication of metallic HARMS can potentially lead to low-cost fabrication of a wide variety of metal-based microdevices. Understanding the mechanics of metal micromolding is critical for assessing the capabilities and limitations of this replication technique. This paper presents results of instrumented micromolding of Al. Measured molding response was rationalized with companion high-temperature tensile testing of Al using a simple mechanics model of the micromolding process. The present results suggest that resisting pressure on the mold insert during micromolding is governed primarily by the yield stress of the molded metal at the molding temperature and a frictional traction on the sides of the insert. The influence of strain rate is also considered.

In this study epoxy phenol novalac resin which consists of silica nanoparticles and unsaturated poly ester resin linked to the Silane and cross linking to that structure and also parameters affecting the processes involved have been evaluated. Cross linking in phenol novalac epoxy resins effects on many properties such as thermal, electrical, mechanical and chemical attributes especially in elevated temperatures. Silane cross-linking’s in phenol novalac epoxy resin with respect to other methods like proxiding, irradiation and utilization of Azo compounds, looks to be a very simple and low cost route, which makes it very encouraging for various industries. Unsaturated poly ester resin is compatible with phenol novalac epoxy resin and also creates some cross-linking and as far as tri methoxy Silane is added to the mentioned resin, its thermal, physical and mechanical properties are optimized. In this literature impact, tension, glass transition temperature, humidity absorption, FTIR and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests were done and the results revealed that as the cross-linking occurs, tension in rupture region increases. This increase is more common at elevated temperatures. The growth in content of silica nanoparticles leads to a drop in water permeability of phenol novalac epoxy resin nanocomposite which contains unsaturated poly ester resin.

STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF COMPOSITION AND VARIATION OF Sn/Zn COOLING MEDIA ON NICKEL ALLOY STEEL THROUGH HOT FORGING AND AUSTEMPERING. Laterite steel with nickel content is expected to be a solution to overcome the lack of domestic steel availability and dependence on imports. This research was conducted to develop Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel used Grinding ball for cement industrial applications. Grinding ball is the one of imported steel products needed to be crushing and size reduction the ores or cement. In addition to import issues, grinding balls have a significant problem: their mechanical properties that do not meet SNI 1049 require the material to have a minimum hardness value of 45 HRC. In this study, the characteristics of Nickel alloy steel were investigated further through heat treatment of forgings heated at the austenitizing temperature of 950 °C and austempering with variations in the cooling medium of Sn/Zn solution. The cooling medium was chosen because it has a melting temperature in the phase diagram area to form the bainite microstructure with complex and challenging characteristics, both of which are required in material for grinding ball applications. In particular, the hardness value that passed the SNI 1069 standard was the use of samples with a Cr-Mo alloy of 1%-wt with a hardness value of 45.92 HRC for Sn Austemper and 48.07 HRC for Zn austemper.
