Sustainable development needs to be considered both at the macro and micro level. World history has been developing over an enormous number of years. During this period, the considerable power of the economy and its globalization is shown. The development tendencies of the present world have greatly influenced the original appearance of our planet and its aspects, such as humanity, nature, and the connections of various kinds of systems. All this leads to the understanding that the possibilities of nature to maintain a balance are not unlimited. The economy closely interacts with nature, which what determines the relevance and importance of the sustainability of modern companies and the balance of economic, social and environmental aspects of development for any company. The conditions of functioning of real-time economic entities determine the priority and relevance of the tasks of ensuring their sustainable development, which is due to the constant impact of objective and multidirectional factors of micro and macro level economy. The impact of external and internal factors remains unchanged and can lead to a violation of the stability of the state of the company if it is not prepared for them, and, therefore, is not able to resist them. In turn, the sustainability of a company’s development is characterized by its ability to function effectively and develop when external and internal conditions change. The strategic goal of sustainable development is to ensure the longest and healthiest possible existence for us and our generation, due to the competent combination and interaction between economic, social and environmental aspects that cover our lives, preserve the natural potential and technological capabilities and form certain benefits for humanity as a whole

Economic sanctions as well as geopolitical situation have set new challenges for Russia. They reflect the necessity of creating an economy that is resistant to both the impact of external, often negative factors, and the need to reformat domestic economic policies. The article deals with the features of the interconnection of the industrial region energy sector and the sustainability of its development. It emphasizes the fact that in the context of an economic crisis the adaptation of regions to new economic conditions is actively influenced by internal factors. The fuel and energy complex is becoming one of the leading domestic resources as well as a catalyst for the related industries. It is noted that unsustainable processes of activating internal regional resources (energy, finance, etc.) hinder achieving sustainable development of the economy.

A significant role of the banking system in ensuring the functioning of the entire economy, by means of organizing the movement of borrowed capital between individual industries and the implementation of financial needs is achieved only if this system, and therefore its constituent elements, are stable. In this regard, the stability of the banking system should be considered as a fundamental internal characteristic, which ensures the existence and stable development of the Bank in a market economy under the influence of external and internal factors. In 2020, commercial banks were faced with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Russian economy and the banking system in particular. At the same time, the current situation of banks ' functioning is characterized not only by the presence of a corona crisis, but also by the internal development of the system itself, which, following the uberization of the world economy, dictates to commercial banks the need to develop and implement financial technologies and form ecosystems. In these conditions, the need for commercial banks in financial resources increases, which is reflected in the increasing role of profit in the Bank's activities and development. This article focuses on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the banking system of the Russian Federation and the economy as a whole, and also identifies the features of profit formation and the specifics of the functioning of commercial banks in the coronavirus crisis period.

Natural disasters always affect different aspects of individual life. They affect almost every part of life, such as the emotional, economic, physical, social, and environmental aspects. Children are believed to be very vulnerable to disasters. The increasing frequency of disasters and the intensity of their destruction motivate an analysis of the impacts of disasters, especially on education, for children. This paper uses a micro level survey data set from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) which covers approximately 83% of the Indonesian population within the survey area. The main objective of this paper is to examine the effects of earthquakes on students’ performance, measured by their child test scores. This type of disaster was chosen because of its intensity, as measured by the percentage of people killed, and the percentage of people evacuated. Moreover, we also investigate the children who took the test immediately after the earthquake and compare their scores with those whose tests were a year after the earthquake. Arguably an earthquake is an exogenous event, so we use the exogenous variation of earthquake as a natural experiment design to estimate the effect of earthquakes on child test scores. A Difference in Difference model (DiD) can be used for estimating if a certain group is exposed to the causal variable of interest, such as an earthquake, and other groups are not. The results confirm that child test scores are significantly affected by earthquakes.

This article analyzes the environmental aspects of sustainable regional and macroeconomic development, as well as the impact of environmental factors and national environmental projects. The essence of the concept of sustainable development of economic entities in a broad sense is to ensure stable growth of indicators in the environmental, social and economic spheres in the long term. Based on the analysis of the list of indicators of sustainable development, the increasing role of the environmental component is shown. We have identified particularly acute environmental problems that hinder effective sustainable development both at the micro-level (of the organization) and at the macro-level in the whole country and the global community. Based on the calculation of the nature protection, socio-ecological and industrial-ecological indices, the consolidated environmental rating and the place of the Kirov region is determined in it. The analysis of the results of research and the opinions of the World Economic Forum experts on the problems of global threats showed the timeliness and relevance of the national project “Ecology” being implemented in Russia, as well as measures of environmental support and planned environmental projects in the Kirov region. The implementation of the planned measures will activate the catalysts of sustainable development and reduce the risks of negative impact on the environment.

Innovative processes contribute to positive shifts at all levels of the economy in a globalized environment. The key element of globalization is economic resources, among which significant ones are resources that have tight relationships and the interdependence of the impact of innovation on the level of their objects reconstruction. The study used the classification of economic resources capable of reconstruction according to the types that form the objects of capital assets, intangible assets and the intellectual potential of labor resources. The directions of innovative investments of Ukrainian enterprises in the reconstruction of such objects of economic resources as capital assets, intangible resources (assets) and an increase in the level of intellectual potential of staff are analyzed. Analysis of statistical data, external and internal factors showed that the reconstruction of intellectual, intangible and material resources, as well as the intellectual potential of personnel was carried out by domestic enterprises at a fairly low level. It is proved that innovatively active enterprises financed the process of reconstruction of economic resources objects by an average of 90% at their own expense. It is advisable to direct the national strategy of the state’s economic development in the context of globalization to intensify innovation and strengthen state control over the process of reconstruction of economic resources of business entities. This requires at the micro-level of planning comprehensive measures for the reconstruction of the quality of economic resources, relying on state innovation development programs. The development and implementation of such a strategy at the micro level can ensure the strengthening of the competitive advantages of enterprises and become the basis for the country's economic growth.
