Internet of Things (IoT) in combination with game based learning offers new possibilities to improve teaching and learning. Thispaper presents an example of using the IoT in education through the creation of an educational interactive game. An educational gamebased on the IoT has been developed. The developed system aims to motivate students to acquire and enhance knowledge in the field of IoT.The system is composed of a mobile application that serves as a controller for students, an administrative tool in the form of a webapplication used by the teachers, a set of assignments implemented within a smart educational environment, and a collection of web servicesused for integration of software components. The system is integrated with Moodle learning management system. The evaluation has beenconducted at the Faculty of organizational sciences, University of Belgrade, during the Summer school in Internet of Things. A group ofseven students played the game, solved the knowledge test, and gave their opinions on usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning andsatisfaction with the developed system. Results show that the game has a positive effect on students’ knowledge and attitudes, and thereforeis suitable for application within a blended learning environment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was (a) to synthesize studies of condom use among South Korean college students, and (b) to appraise the quality of each article using Gough's weight of evidence. Methods: Studies published in English and Korean were searched in electronic databases using the terms "student or college student or university student or undergraduate", "condom", and "Korea*".Results: Twenty studies met the inclusion criteria, showed appropriate quality, and were therefore selected for review. The variables related to condom use were measured in terms of condom-related factors, factors related to non-condom-related knowledge and attitudes, and other factors. Knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy were associated with condom use, and there were differences in condom-related factors among men and women. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it was confirmed that sexual education is needed for both men and women to promote condom use. Education on condom use should not only focus directly on condoms, but should also address other aspects of knowledge and attitudes to influence health beliefs. In addition, developing educational programs targeting adolescents and parents will have a positive effect on college students' condom use.

Studies of online social influence have demonstrated that friends have important effects on many types of behavior in a wide variety of settings. However, we know much less about how influence works among relative strangers in digital public squares, despite important conversations happening in such spaces. We present the results of a study on large public Facebook pages where we randomly used two different methods—most recent and social feedback—to order comments on posts. We find that the social feedback condition results in higher quality viewed comments and response comments. After measuring the average quality of comments written by users before the study, we find that social feedback has a positive effect on response quality for both low and high quality commenters. We draw on a theoretical framework of social norms to explain this empirical result. In order to examine the influence mechanism further, we measure the similarity between comments viewed and written during the study, finding that similarity increases for the highest quality contributors under the social feedback condition. This suggests that, in addition to norms, some individuals may respond with increased relevance to high-quality comments.

AbstractThis paper made an attempt to indicate the findings of the author’s research from the experiences of the implementation of the project ‘Including disabled senior citizens in creative activities in 2013-2015’. The issues of disabled senior citizens have been an object of interest over the recent years though it still has not had a proper place in science and practice. In the situation of a painful lack of initiatives, the Foundation for Propagation of Disability Art and Culture of the in Warsaw, as the only institution for promoting creative activity of the disabled in Poland, undertook a number of activities in order to include this social group in the world of culture and art. It appears that participation in creative initiatives has a very positive effect on the quality of the social functioning of disabled senior citizens in their isolation from their own families.

Much of the social choice literature examines direct voting systems, in which voters submit their ranked preferences over candidates and a voting rule picks a winner. Real-world elections and decision-making processes are often more complex and involve multiple stages. For instance, one popular voting system filters candidates through primaries: first, voters affiliated with each political party vote over candidates of their own party and the voting rule picks a candidate from each party, which then compete in a general election. We present a model to analyze such multi-stage elections, and conduct the first quantitative comparison (to the best of our knowledge) of the direct and primary voting systems with two political parties in terms of the quality of the elected candidate. Our main result is that every voting rule is guaranteed to perform almost as well (i.e., within a constant factor) under the primary system as under the direct system. Surprisingly, the converse does not hold: we show settings in which there exist voting rules that perform significantly better under the primary system than under the direct system.

Efforts to increase the value of the quality of education for students as the next generation of the nation require teachers who have competence in providing education to students. The competence of a teacher can be assessed when a teacher has carried out his duties in accordance with the standard provisions he has. The ranking of potential teachers is used to motivate teachers to be active in carrying out each activity and is expected to have a positive effect on their work to face challenges in this era of globalization. The data that is processed for the ranking of teacher potential is the assessment data of elementary school teachers sourced from the korwildik of the Batang kapas sub-district. This ranking is based on several criteria and weights are determined. Furthermore, this ranking is processed using a system created by the researcher. This ranking uses a method called TOPSIS to assist researchers in ranking. The TOPSIS method is a multi-criteria decision support method with the principle that the chosen alternative must have the closest distance from the positive and negative ideal solutions. The results of ranking with the TOPSIS method are able to support the ranking decisions of potential teachers using predetermined criteria. So that the highest value is found in the 5th alternative with a value of 0.7321 and the lowest value is found in the 1st alternative with a value of 0.2218. The ranking of potential teachers has proven to be able to help the South Coast District Education and Culture Office, especially the korwildik of the Batang kapas sub-district in determining prospective school principal

When interacting on a learning task, which is typical of several academic situations, individuals may experience two different motives: Understanding the problem, or showing their competences. When a conflict (confrontation of divergent propositions) emerges from this interaction, it can be solved either in an epistemic way (focused on the task) or in a relational way (focused on the social comparison of competences). The latter is believed to be detrimental for learning. Moreover, research on cooperative learning shows that when they share identical information, partners are led to compare to each other, and are less encouraged to cooperate than when they share complementary information. An epistemic vs. relational conflict vs. no conflict was provoked in dyads composed by a participant and a confederate, working either on identical or on complementary information (N = 122). Results showed that, if relational and epistemic conflicts both entailed more perceived interactions and divergence than the control group, only relational conflict entailed more perceived comparison activities and a less positive relationship than the control group. Epistemic conflict resulted in a more positive perceived relationship than the control group. As far as performance is concerned, relational conflict led to a worse learning than epistemic conflict, and - after a delay - than the control group. An interaction between the two variables on delayed performance showed that epistemic and relational conflicts were different only when working with complementary information. This study shows the importance of the quality of relationship when sharing information during cooperative learning, a crucial factor to be taken into account when planning educational settings at the university.
