The research aims to develop teacher and student handbooks for realistic mathematics lessons for elementary schools. The development of this handbook is based on the reality in the field where the handbook of teachers and students especially the subjects using the 2013 curriculum still do not exist, and in daily learning activities teachers and students still use books that use themes. This research uses development research (Developmental Research). The subjects of this study were grade V students of SD Negeri 163085, H.A Bilal Tebingtinggi City and SD Negeri 106162, Medan Estate District, Deliserdang Regency. In the initial stage, observations were made during the learning process at the two schools and continued with interviews with students and teachers. From the results of these observations and interviews a primary school realistic mathematics teacher and student handbook was prepared. Furthermore, the realistic elementary school mathematics teacher and student handbook is validated by a team that aims to see and assess the quality of the realistic elementary school teacher and student mathematics handbook in order to arrange an effective handbook that will be used by teachers and students in learning. The validation results show that realistic mathematics teacher and student handbooks are developed in both categories and can be used in teaching and learning. The media book test was conducted on grade V students of SD Negeri 163085 Tebingtinggi city and SD Negeri 106162 Medan Estate Deliserdang Regency. The trial results show that the elementary school teacher and student mathematics handbook is effective and can help facilitate understanding of mathematical concepts at the elementary school level. Literacy plays an important role in learning including at the elementary school level. Literate ability is good for students, encouraging the development of other abilities, because literacy is a basic ability to gain abilities in other fields. Especially in providing an understanding of the 2013 thematic integrative curriculum learning. Learning that contains several subject matters integrated into one theme needs to empower literacy culture in its application. Literacy culture in integrative thematic learning can be developed in terms of classroom management, choosing learning methods related to literacy and choosing strategies in applying literacy to integrative thematic learning.

An empirical investigation of elementary school teacher candidates on classification activities dealing with animate and inanimate objects in terms of being living or non-living demonstrates that as the size of the objects increases, subjects are more likely to classify them correctly as either being an animal or having living characteristics. Despite a variety of misconceptions having an impact on the results, size magnitude is shown to play a significant role on proper classification. The subjects’ performance on these activities at an advanced stage of their preparation suggests that their factual and procedural knowledge are deficient due to a lack of opportunities for conceptual development of the items tested. The identification of the role of size on the proper classification of objects in the activities bears significantly on the science curricular structure at the elementary school level. As the results of this study indicate, both pre-service elementary school teachers and by extension their prospective students need longer practice dealing with living and non-living classification activities, particularly in tasks where the microscopic features of matter can be investigated so that the proclivity to regard size as the defining characteristic is effectively addressed.

This study aims to: (1) Reveal how to apply the experimental-based LSQ learning model on microteaching activities for elementary school teacher candidates; (2) Examine the increase in curiosity and understanding the concept of science. The method used is a Quasi-experiment method with purposive sampling technique. The sample are 31 elementary school teacher candidates from Universitas Sains Al Quran, Wonosobo, Indonesia. The data about understanding the concept was collected through a test with 30 questions. The data about curiosity was collected by questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that there is an increase in the understanding of the concept based on the gain test of 0.3. Furthermore, based on the t-test of 4.01 and t-table of 1.99 (tcount t-table = 4.01 1.99), LSQ model is effective in increasing the curiosity. Curiosity through the four main skills found, namely: questioning skills, reinforcement, explanation skills, and classroom management. The average result of the competency percentage on LSQ learning is 72% (medium category). LSQ is strongly recommended to be applied by prospective elementary school teachers.

Setelah mengikuti pelatihan guru mendapatkan pemahaman tentang K13 di tingkat sekolah dasar dan mampu membuat perangkat pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan K13.Kata kunci: pelatihan, kurikulum 2013, guru SDOne of the ways to achieve educational goals is a guideline for implementing learning activities in the form of curriculum. 2013 Curriculum (K13) is a curriculum that officially in 2014 replaced its predecessor, the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP). In 2018 the government proclaims that all schools are required to apply K13 from elementary to advanced levels. In fact there are still schools that have not implemented the 2013 curriculum because there is no socialization and training related to the 2013 curriculum. One of them is Al Fatih Islamic Primary School in Barito Kuala District, South Kalimantan, which has not implemented K13 and still uses KTSP as its curriculum. The problem faced is the lack of knowledge about K13 due to the lack of K13 socialization and training. Moving on from this problem the community service team conducted K13 training activities aimed at introducing and understanding the application of K13. The method used in this study is lecture, discussion, and mentoring. After attending thetraining the teacher gets an understanding of K13 at the elementary school level and is able to make learning devices that are in accordance with K13.Keywords: training, 2013 curriculum, elementary school teacher
