The potential of horticultural crops, especially vegetables in the District of Tinggimoncong is quite considerable. Some types of vegetables such as cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrots, leeks and potatoes, besides being marketed in the Regency Area, are also marketed to the provincial capital even inter-island to Kalimantan. The marketing system, however, is still traditional, and that makes the income of the farmers as the producers is not optimal. This study aimed to examine the market structures, distribution channels and marketing margins of the vegetable farming products located in Kanreapia village Tinggimoncong District Gowa Regency South Sulawesi. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, it was carried out from April to June 2019. The results showed that the structure of the vegetable market formed in Kanreapia village led to an oligopsony market. The market structure at the Regency/Municipal level was more likely to lead to a perfect competition and differentiation market. Because the farmers as the producers did not have post-harvest treatment and facilities (standardization through grading), and were weak in terms of market information, the role of the farmers in taking the advantages of market opportunities was very small. The relatively small business scales and non-market-demand farming have caused the farmers’ bargaining position very weak, allowing the presence of intermediary traders who in turn are more dominant in determining the selling prices at the farmer level. For several types of vegetables, the share received by the farmers from the price paid by the consumers is, on average, smaller than that received by the intermediary traders. Hence, the marketing system that occurs is considered less efficient for farmers.

Indonesia has failed to achieve meat self-sufficiency; meanwhile, East Java is among the centers of beef cattle with a relatively high contribution in terms of GDP and employment. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze the market structure of the beef cattle commodity chain by considering the concentration ratio, Gini Index, as well as barriers to exit and entry. The study was conducted in Malang Regency and Sapudi Island, with 164 respondents, which consisted of calf suppliers, farmers, traders, and slaughterhouses. Furthermore, the analytical tools used include descriptive, concentration ratio, Gini Coefficient, and analysis of barriers to entry and exit. Based on the results, the market structures in the beef cattle commodity chain in terms of its input market was perfect competition, while the intermediate and output market was oligopoly. These results were confirmed by the concentration ratios of calf suppliers and farmers, which were lower than the ratios of traders and slaughterhouses. Although the market structures were different, their Gini Coefficients are almost similar because a value of 0.2 showed an equitable distribution. Additionally, the barriers to entry into the market were high investment with a large number of import and market problems. Meanwhile, the barriers to exit the market were a large number of potential demands, high investment, and a source of income.

English
The Arenga pinnata palm trees do not only produce sap but also multipurpose products, such as edible fruits, building materials, fibers, and wax. Palm sugar agribusiness development copes with both technical and non technical constraint, e.g. low-skilled farmers, low yield, and less value added. To improve farmer’s capacity there are some steps to take, namely: (a) technical and management training, (b) provision of improved seed and processing unit equipments, (c) institutional and marketing empowerment, and (d) implementing better aren farming system. Furthermore, to increase farmer’s bargaining position it is essential to strengthen farmers’ groups through collective marketing system with farmers’ groups association, as well as farmers’ skill enhancement.

Perfect competition (PPS) is the most ideal market structure because this market system is considered will ensure the realization of activities producing goods and services with very high efficiency compared to other market structures such as monopoly. Due to its benefits for sellers and buyers, economists often wish for the creation of perfect competition. In the pattern of transactions in everyday life, there are many market transactions commonly encountered, such as decentralized systems (DT), and Double Auction (DA). This paper presents the use of experimental methods to study the characteristics of both systems the transaction is in a "perfect competition” (5 sellers and 5 buyers' and market monopoly (with 1 seller and 5 buyers). Responses observed are Contract Price (CP), market efficiency, CP diversity coefficient on the price balance, buyer surplus and seller surplus. From the experimental results can be seen that the average Contract Price (CP) during 5 experimental periods that the value of CP at Perfect Competition Market is smaller than the monopoly market. From efficiency levels between transactions type it can be seen that the Double Auction type of transaction is more efficient than with the Decentralization type of transaction.

The role of marketing in the allocation of resources within the agricultural sector is an important one. This role consists in translating the market demand for various agricultural crops into profit incentives for the farmers. The marketing system that does not adequately perform the task of transmitting the profit signals from the consumers to the producers results in misallocation of resources and less than optimal application of inputs in the production of agricultural crops. Despite the importance of the marketing system, the analysis of the market structure and the dynamics of agricultural marketing have received little attention in the developing countries. Several recent works have explored the efficiency aspects of contemporary marketing systems [7,9]. A recent case study of the marketing system in Brazil has clarified some of the interrela¬tionships between marketing and development [23]. Literature on marketing in Pakistan is scarce and deals mostly with the description of the institutional system [2, 18,19,20,21]. No attempt is made to test hypotheses regarding efficiency of the agricultural markets. The evolution of the marketing system is not systematically traced.

Cropping pattern systems can affect the level of productivity of land, land use by applying the right cropping system is not only able to increase production but can improve the efficiency of use of space and time. The polyculture (intercropping) system of secondary crops is a potential model to be developed. The needs of secondary crops such as corn and soybeans in Indonesia have increased from year to year, but their production has not been able to meet market demand. This is due to reduced agricultural land for cultivation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency of land use of polyculture systems of secondary crops carried out by highland and lowland farmers. This research was carried out on farmland which carried out the cropping pattern of the polyculture system of secondary crops which was 60 days old. Quantitative descriptive research method through surveys using questionnaires. The results showed that the highest value of land equality (NKL) occurred in corn-peanuts. The soil was 5.7 and the lowest was polyculture systems of green beans (1.5). This study suggests that farmers in both regions, a highland and lowland farmers, are given socialization and training on maximum land use so that they can increase knowledge and increase farmer household income.
