Advertising plays an important role in narrating the social side of a company which is often referred to as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Corporate social campaigns are often seen as dubious, however, audiences as individuals interpret advertisements based on their values and experiences. TBSI (The Body Shop Indonesia) advertisements were conceptualized and analyzed using narrative transportation. Interviews are conducted with nine informants from various backgrounds. The results of the study are described in themes, namely (1) insight, (2) the relationship between CSR messages and the participant's value system, and (3) narrative responses to CSR advertisements. The result of the study states that advertising does not necessarily make the value from a social issue to be embedded or instilled in someone. Narrative and commitment to these values depend on the individual, person by person.

This study aims to see the effect of Green Image on Customer Perceptions of CSR Activities: Ethical CSR, The Effect of CSR Capability on Customer Perceptions of CSR Activities: Ethical CSR and the influence of Customer Perceptions on CSR Activities: Ethical CSR on Customer Loyalty. The population in this study were students and students of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University who had used or are still using products from The Body Shop, with a sample of 105 respondents. The sampling technique in this study used a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling.The results showed that there was a positive effect of green image on customer perception of CSR activities: ethical CSR, there was a positive influence on perceived CSR capability on customer perception of CSR activities: ethical CSR and there was a positive effect on Customer Perception Of CSR Activities: Ethical CSR on Customer Loyalty.

This study aims to determine the effect of Green Marketing and Green Brand Image on users attitudes of The Body Shop Indonesia products empirically, either partially or simultaneously. The population in this study are followers of the Instagram account @thebodyshopindo who have purchased The Body Shop products and used them. This study used a sample of 100 respondents where the questionnaire was distributed using google form through social media Instagram. Sampling using purposive sampling method. The data analysis method used multiple linear regression, with partial and simultaneous hypothesis testing and processed using SPSS version 25 for Windows. The results showed that the two independent variables, namely Green Marketing and Green Brand Image, had a positive and significant effect either partially or simultaneously on the dependent variable of user attitudes. In addition, this study explains that user attitudes are influenced by 68.5% by Green Marketing and Green Brand Image, the remaining 31.5% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract-This research was conducted to determine the relationship between interpersonal influence, altruism, environmental knowledge and green purchasing behaviour mediated by environmental attitudes towards consumers of The Body Shop in the Jakarta, Tangerang, Depok, Bekasi and Bogor areas. This research will focus on consumers of The Body Shop where the researchers conducted this research because the awareness of young consumers towards environmentally friendly products is still low. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. The data used in this study were collected through an instrument in the form of an electronic questionnaire, namely Google Form that was spread on social media. The findings of this research show that interpersonal influence has a positive and significant effect on environment attitude; altruism has a positive effect on environment attitude; environment knowledge has no positive effect on environment attitude; and environment attitude has a positive effect on green purchasing behaviour. The managerial implication that can be given from this research is that marketers can increase consumer knowledge of the environment so that it can encourage consumers to pay attention to their attitudes towards the environment and can lead to consumer buying behaviour for environmentally friendly products. Body Shop is a well-known cruelty-free cosmetics brand company. This research paper explores how Body Shop is running the campaign 'forever against animal testing' and raising its voice for banning animal testing in cosmetics. The Body Shop has been advocating for animal rights since 1989. Qualitative analysis techniques have been used in this research paper and information is obtained through a questioner focused on convenient sampling. We have discovered in our research that most consumers do not want to purchase goods which are created by harming animals. In manufacturing cosmetics, we say companies must use alternative artificial testing like Body Shop.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, celebrity expertise, and celebrity motive on brand attitude and how attitude towards the endorsement mediates the effects of attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, celebrity expertise, and celebrity motive on brand attitude. The population of this study is consumers of The Body Shop in Jakarta who acknowledge Jerinx. This research uses a descriptive approach. Sampling was done using a purposive sampling method. In total there were 100 respondents who participated. Data were collected using an online questionnaire, Google Form. The analysis used is structural equation modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS as a tool for analyzing data. The result of this study indicate that celebrity motive has a positive and significant effect towards brand attitude, while attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, and celebrity expertise have positive and not significant effects towards brand attitude. Attitude towards the endorsement is a positive and significant mediator of attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, celebrity expertise, and celebrity motive towards brand attitude. Furthermore, this research can be used as new insights for brands on advertising their products using celebrity endorsement, how and what to consider for choosing the right celebrity endorser.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, celebrity expertise, dan celebrity motive terhadap brand attitude dan attitude towards the endorsement memediasi pengaruh attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, celebrity expertise, and celebrity motive terhadap brand attitude. Populasi penelitian ini adalah konsumen The Body Shop di Jakarta yang mengetahui sosok Jerinx. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik pendekatan purposive sampling. Secara total terdapat 100 responden yang berpartisipasi. Data dikoleksi menggunakan kuisioner online, Google Form. Analisis yang digunakan adalah structural equation modeling (SEM) dengan menggunakan SmartPLS sebagai alat untuk menganalisis data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa celebrity motive memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap brand attitude, sementara attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, dan celebrity expertise memiliki pengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap brand attitude. Attitude towards the endorsement merupakan mediator positif dan signifikan dari attitude towards the celebrity, celebrity—brand fit, celebrity expertise, and celebrity motive pada brand attitude. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai wawasan bagi perusahaan dalam periklanan dengan menggunakan strategi celebrity endorsement, bagaimana dan apa yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam memilih celebrity endorser.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the effect of green promotion, environmental consciousness, information credibility on purchase decisions mediated by brand image on environmentally-friendly cosmetic products The Body Shop in Yogyakarta. The variables used in this study are green promotion (X1), environmental consciousness (X2), information credibility (X3) purchase decision (Y), and brand image (Z). The population in this study are consumers who use The Body Shop products in Yogyakarta. The total sample in this study was 100 respondents using the convenience sampling technique or also known as accidental sampling and the data collection method using a questionnaire. The data analysis used was SEM (Structural Equation Model) analysis with the SMART PLS 3.2.7 program. By testing the hypothesis, the results of the analysis show that green promotion, environmental consciousness, information credibility has a positive effect on purchase decisions on The Body Shop products in Yogyakarta, and brand image can mediate the variables of green promotion, environmental consciousness, information credibility on purchase decisions. The suggestions for further researchers are because in this study there are still limitations so that further researchers are expected to be able to research with other variables and need to use a wider and more diverse range of respondents to obtain more varied results that can affect purchasing decisions. Beauty consumers are currently promised to satisfy their needs by interpolating capitalist ideology in The Body Shop's advertising discourse on digital media, which can eliminate Reason in fulfilling requirements. This research was conducted to examine the interpellation of capitalist ideology in exploiting consumers' beauty needs, consumers to process the interpellation of capitalist ideologies to fulfill apparent beauty needs, and the emancipation process to free these consumers. The research found that the interpellation of capitalist ideology in The Body Shop's advertising discourse on digital media to exploit consumers through preconditions of pleasure, exploitation of instincts, alienation, and sublimation of concern, sublimation for transformation, separation, and discrimination of real needs; in the way of shaking logic, manipulative messages, promising the pleasures of beauty necessities. Each consumer responds to the interpellation of capitalist ideology in different dimensions: 1) Two-dimensional consumers maintain rational and irrational reasoning to meet their real needs, 2) One-dimensional consumers only use illogical reasoning to fulfill apparent needs, 3) Consumers with metamorphosis dimensions with superficial needs. For this reason, a new size is needed in the digital communication era, namely "Three Dimensional Consumers: Combine rational reasoning, irrational reasoning, humanist communication media, so that consumers meet their true humanist and transcendent needs.

Sebelum sebuah produk kosmetik siap dipasarkan, produk tersebut harus mengalami pengujian terlebih dahulu. Pengujian ini biasanya dilakukan terhadap binatang, khususnya kelinci putih. Tidak jarang binatang-binatang tersebut teracuni, buta, bahkan mati akibat pengujian ini. Pengujian terhadap binatang atau animal testing adalah salah satu bentuk dari penyiksaan terhadap binatang atau animal abuse. Hal ini lah yang ditentang oleh The Body Shop sejak pertama berdiri pada 1976, merek ini berkomitmen untuk menjadi merek kosmetik�cruelty-free, merek yang tidak melakukan pengujian terhadap binatang. Di pasar Indonesia, The Body Shop sudah hadir sejak tahun 1992 dan baru pada tahun 2017 memiliki seorang Brand Ambassador, yaitu Cinta Laura. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu bagaimana komunikasi retorika Cinta Laura sebagai Brand Ambassador kosmetik cruelty- free. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme, serta menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam dengan tiga jenis informan, yaitu informan kunci, informan ahli, dan juga informan pendukung. Dari penelitian ini dapat diperoleh hasil bahwa komunikasi retorika yang dilakukan oleh Cinta Laura sebagai brand ambassador dari The Body Shop Indonesia yang mengampanyekan kosmetik�cruelty-free sudah sesuai arahan yang diberikan oleh pihak perusahaan. Namun, audience melihat komunikasi retorika yang ia lakukan lebih fokus pada agenda untuk meningkatkan penjualan saja, dan kurang meyakinkan�audience dalam hal kampanye yang dibawakan.
