The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants of organic food purchase (O-FP). Specifically, how do consumers’ attitudes toward O-FP mediate in the links between health safety norms, perceived self-efficacy and perceived social support, and O-FP? To answer this question, a research framework using the theory of bounded rationality as its basis was formulated. Data were collected from the residents of Dhaka city during the 2019 holiday season. Structural equation modelling was used to analyse the data to answer the questions about the relationships of the aforementioned constructs toward organic food purchase behaviour. Findings suggested that perceived self-efficacy has no association between attitude and O-FP. However, other hypotheses are found to be supported implying attitude has both direct and mediated influence on O-FP.

The importance of innovation (INNO) towards organisational performance (OP) is acknowledged in extant literature. There is substantial evidence about INNO playing the determinant role in OP. However, there are few studies providing empirical evidence of this relationship especially in academic settings. By looking at INNO from administrative and technical perspectives, this paper purposefully explores the impacts of INNO on OP in public higher education institutions (HEIs) of Vietnam. Quantitative research was deployed, and results of the study were produced based on a survey data collected in 30 public universities equally located in three regions of Vietnam during 2018. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to facilitate model testing. We find that each type of innovation exerts its impacts on different aspects of OP in a HEI. Besides enriching the literature on this rapport, this study is also of value in managerial perspective as it helps increase HEIs’ knowledge on how to strengthen their organisational innovativeness, and then enhance performance. A list of measurement scales serving as a checklist for leadership of any HEI desire to embark on INNO journey then boost OP is provided by this study.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify the level of good aquaculture practice (GAqP) among aquaculture farmers; and to analyse the factors influence the level of practice and the importance of GAqP in increasing farmer’s income. Design/methodology/approach – Primary data were obtained through a survey conducted on 216 aquaculture pond fish farmers. The descriptive study was employed to identify the profile of respondents and their level of GAqP practices. The structural equation modelling (SEM) method was applied to analyse the factors influence the level of GAqP practice, and the influence of GAqP on the total income of aquaculture farmers. Findings – The results showed that the pond management by brackish water fish farmers is better than freshwater fish farmer, indicated by 77 per cent of them adopt GAqP at a level of 60 per cent and above, as compared to only 20 per cent by freshwater farmers. Physical and human assets were revealed to be most significant factors influence the practice of GAqP. The results also proved that GAqP was among the significant factor contributes to increasing in farmers’ household income; in addition to their other livelihood assets. Originality/value – To the best of the author’s knowledge, this is the very first study that employs SEM method to analyse the relationship between GAqP with livelihood asset and farmer’s income simultaneously in Malaysia. Furthermore, since the empirical studies related to GAqP is very few, the study will contribute to development of knowledge in the field of aquaculture.

The success of governmental e-transactions in developing countries is due to the effective utilization of information communication technology. The current literature reports that e-transactions can meet with citizen reluctance. Due to its nature as a sociotechnical system, this article investigates the role of sociotechnical factors in the endorsement of e-transactions. Quantitative research was conducted to analyze online data from 663 participants from a population of 80,000 online users. Structural equation modelling was also performed to examine the association between sociotechnical factors and the acceptance of e-transactions. The results suggest that sociotechnical factors influence the usage of e-transactions. Thus, a theoretical sociotechnical model was developed which includes three levels: technical, organizational and social. A number of design and implementation activities, related to the three theorized levels, were suggested to guide governments in increasing the acceptance of e-transactions.

Purpose – This paper aims to present a way to make structural equation modelling (SEM) studies more accessible and impactful. This paper suggests that authors service readers by translating their work into an infographic that clearly and artfully illustrates the essence of a paper’s contribution. Design/methodology/approach – Through the presentation of a worked example, this paper outlines four service components needed to create a visually striking, yet informative, infographic. Findings – This paper contends that authors who follow this approach will improve the marketability of their research without oversimplifying or “dumbing down” its insights. Research limitations/implications – Until a journal editor insists that modellers undertake some translation of their results as a pre-requisite to publication, this paper is unlikely to herald a revolution in how quantitative work is communicated. Practical implications – This fresh thinking can offer a way for practicing managers, and other marketing researchers unfamiliar with SEM’s peculiarities, to comprehend the findings of such studies. Originality/value – This paper contributes to a nascent body of research on how to effectively disseminate research findings to a broader audience through adopting a service arts perspective and presents an interpretive view of quantitative research never seen before in the pages of this journal.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues in developing markets have acquired a lot of attention. Organisations around the globe apply a diversified set of technologies to approaching customer expectations through banking performance. This study examines the impact of CSR on Lebanese banking performance. Primary data from questionnaires were used. A total of 1000 observations were collected using a 5-point Likert scale method adopted to formulate the items. The questionnaire was tested to assess its trustworthiness regarding data collection. Partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypothesis. The overall results demonstrated the significance of CSR in terms of meeting customers’ expectations and maintaining banking performance. All CSR dimensions demonstrated a positive impact on customer expectations and Lebanese banking performance. Moreover, customer expectations proved to be a mediator between CSR and banking performance, although there was partial mediation between CSR and banking performance.
