The objectives are to describe the implementation, the advantages, and the disadvantages of teaching writing of recount text by using Comic Strips for the tenth grade students of senior high school. The researcher uses qualitative research as an approach and descriptive research as type of research. The result shows that the stages of implementing Comic Strips media in the classroom are introducing the media, explaining and analyzing the recount text, redistributing the media with other topic, asking the students to read and pay attention to, writing a recount text based on the Comic Strips given, monitoring the students’ difficulties, correcting their mistakes on writing the text, writing the final draft based on the teacher’s suggestion and comment, submitting the final writing, reviewing and giving feedback to the lesson, and closing. The advantages of the implementation of the media are that, firstly, it can stimulate the students’ imagination and creativity so that they can obtain greater ideas in order to make a good composition. Second, it gives students the clue of chronological events which then it helps students to memorize and visualize better. Third, it facilitates the students to develop their own ideas and arrange words into good sentences of recount text by understanding both the story of pictures and the conversations in English illustrated in dialogue balloons. The last the students can easily find new vocabularies from the texts of conversations being conveyed by the characters in the media. Meanwhile, the disadvantages are first, there are some students who still make mistakes especially on their grammar and vocabulary. Second, the students often forget about using right capitalization and punctuation. Based on the result of the study, it is suggested to use Comic Strips to improve the students’ writing on other text types. Keywords: recount text, comic strips,

Writing is one of the skills in English that should be mastered by students.  Writing is means of communication whereby writing transmit idea to the reader.  There are many steps in teaching writing skill. One of the steps is the teaching of punctuation.  Punctuation is an element that has an important role in writing. Punctuation refers to sign on marks used to clarify the writings’ idea and the readers can understand easily the meaning of the sentences. This research used qualitative research, because this research describes about the students’ ability to use punctuation in writing.  The research was conducted at Senior High School in Pamekasan. The result of this research found about to what extent students use the punctuation marks. Firstly, external punctuation. Secondly, internal punctuation. thirdly, pairs punctuation. Fourthly, special punctuation. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that the used punctuation in writing skill in the second semester students of class X state senior high school in Pamekasan couldn’t used punctuation in writing, it showed by the data the average value of student’ couldn’t used punctuation correctly were 73 %. Students’ still confuse or didn’t know used punctuation, and the  meaning of the text listed on the sentence that use at the and of sentence or continue with other sentence, and also between declaration and question.

This research investigated the parents and learners’ perceptions on modular distance learning that they are experiencing during this time of pandemic as part contemporary new normal education setup. The main purpose of this study was to understand parents’ and learners’ perceptions on modular distance learning as contemporary teaching strategy and how they coped with the experiences and challenges of the new normal education settings. The participants of this study where five (5) senior high school learners and five (5) parents/guardians of senior high school learners of Sta. Catalina Integrated National High School. The research was conducted in Majayjay District from School Year 2020-2021. This study used Qualitative Research through Descriptive research where in-depth interviewing and storytelling was done to gather the narratives or accounts of the research participants. Using an interview protocol and with a strong collaboration with the participants, the researcher will manage all the fieldwork and ensured the depth and breadth of the study. Through the analysis of the data from the interview, the Perception of Parents and Learners on Modular Distance learning as contemporary teaching strategy shows effectiveness even facing different challenges and disadvantage

The main problem of this study was "Is it effective to teach writing through the process-genre method to the tenth-grade students of Islamic Senior High School NU Yosowinangun?". The objective of this study is to find out whether the process-genre method was effective to teach writing to the tenth-grade students of Islamic Senior High School NU Yosowinangun, writing ability of descriptive text. This research used a quantitative research method using the pre-experimental method. The population of the study was all the tenth-grade students of Islamic Senior High School NU Yosowinangun in the academic 2019/2020, with 106 students. The sample was 20 students taken by using one-stage cluster random sampling. The data were analyzed through the matched t-test formula to find out the effectiveness of teaching writing through the process-genre method. The technique for collecting data used a written test twice in the pre-test and post-test. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was found that the highest score in the pre-test was 69 and the lowest score was 41, and the average score was 52.8. While in the post-test, the highest score was 85 and the lowest score was 70, where the average score was 79, it was found that the value of t-obt was 18.7, where the value of t-tab was 1.725, at significance level 0.05 or 95% with a degree of freedom. . It can be concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It indicated that teaching writing through the process-genre method to the tenth-grade students of Islamic Senior High School NU Yosowinangun was effective.

This research was instigated by the importance of technology-based learning facilities for students in learning Chemistry. This research aimed at knowing validity and practicality levels of the media designed. It was conducted to the tenth-grade students of MIA 2 of State Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru in the Academic Year of 2019/2020, and they were 12 students.It was Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall modification model. The subjects of this research were who tested the validity (the experts of media and material) and practicality (teachers and students). Interview and questionnaire were used to collect the data. The final product was in the form of a valid learning media. Videoscribe-based learning media on Molecular Shapes lesson developed was tested valid by the experts of media and material with 91.87% mean percentage (very valid) and it was tested practical by 2 Chemistry subject teachers and 12 students with 91.02% mean percentage. Based on these findings, it could be concluded that Videoscribe-based learning media on Molecular Shapes lesson was valid and practical, sothe testcould be done at thefurther stage.

This research aimed to find out Google Classroom effectiveness, which was used to enhance students’ writing recount text for Senior High School and recognize students' writing performance. This research used a pre-experimental research design. The subject of this study is the tenth grade of senior high school at Western Surabaya. It involved 30 students as a sample of this study. In the process of data collection, the researcher used a pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The researcher analyzed the data using Wilcoxon Ranks Test to test the hypothesis. This study found the value of significance (2-tailed) was lower than the significance level (0.022 < 0.05), then the Ha was accepted. It means there was a significant value on students’ achievement of the writing performance of recount text by using Google Classroom. In addition, the result of the questionnaire indicates that the students’ responses are neutral; it means that the students do not feel difficult in the use of Google Classroom. However, it can be concluded that Google Classroom significantly affects students’ writing performance and helps them finish and collect the assignment without any bound by time and space. Further, based on the data obtained, which analyzed through Brown's theory, the students' writing performance is imitative and intensive. It means they are still positioning in the primary category.

Writing is an important skill for students because it helps them in their life but sometime they have difficulties when they start to writing. Therefore, the teacher must be able to find and use the right strategies for teaching writing activity especially choosing teaching media. One of the media that can be used in teaching writing is comic strips. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is an influence of using comic strips media to improve writing skill in the tenth grade students. This research employed pre-experimental design and used test questions as the instrument. The sample was the tenth grade students in one of SMKN in Cianjur, consisting of 36 students. The research compared the mean of the pre-test and post-test to identify the influence of comic strips media in improving writing skill.

This study was conducted aiming at examining: (1) the divergent principles of politeness in students’ directive speech act (2) factors affecting politeness and impoliteness in verbal and non-verbal directive speech act produced by students at grade X in Senior High School 1 Mataram in the learning process. The subject of this study are teachers teaching Bahasa Indonesia, English, Economy, History, Math, Religion, Civic, and Science, and all students at Grade X of Science 1, Science 3 and Social 2 in Senior High School 1 Mataram. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The data source in this study is the number of utterances produced by students and teachers in the learning process. The data were collected through observation. This study revealed that: (1) there were divergent principles of politeness in participants’ directive speech act namely single and multiple divergent principles of politeness affected by speaker intentionally accused addressees, intentionally uttered by neglecting the context, was protective to other arguments, showed emotional feeling, given critiques in impolite words and mocked at other; and (2) there were factors affecting politeness and impoliteness in verbal and non-verbal directive speech act produced by students in learning process namely linguistic factor and non-linguistic factor.

The lack of Biology teaching materials in senior high school in the Kerinci District has promoted this research. The purpose of this development research is to produce e-modules as teaching materials used by students in Biology subjects. The model used in developing this e-module is the 4-D model, which consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Biology e-modules on plantae and animalia material based on the potential of the Kerinci region were validated by media and material experts. The results of the media expert validation obtained the final percentage of 90% (very valid category) and the material expert validation obtained a percentage of 75% (valid category). From the results of the field test, the teacher responded that the e-modules produced were suitable for use in biology class X high school learning with a percentage of 92.5% (very good category). Furthermore, e-module trials on students obtained responses that the products produced were also proper to be used in biology learning in class X of senior high school. The small group test obtained a score of 85% (excellent category) and the large group test obtained score 78.3% (good category). The use of the developed e-modules in learning resulted in a score of 76.3% (successful category).

The aim of this research was to know whether there are significant affection of reduction language error in students essay writing by using peer, teacher and self-feedback and to investigate which the best one of the strategies on reduction language error in students essay writing. The 126 tenth grade students of one senior high school in Tangerang were chosen as the sample which taken by non-random using purposive sampling. This research used experimental method with three experimental groups design. Students’ test for pre-test and post-test were used by the researcher to collect the data. The hypothesis data was tested using formula of t-test. The result showed that there was a significant effect used peer, teacher and self-feedback on reduction language error in students writing essay at the tenth grade of senior high school, but teacher feedback is better strategy than peer and self-feedback. It means that the three feedback strategies in reducing language error are effective on improving students writing skill and the teacher feedback strategy is the most effective one among the other strategies
