The article considers the main changes in modern medical terminology related to the occurrence, prevention and treatment of coronavirus infections, analyzes the main lexical and thematic groups of neologisms in terms of their origin and functioning. Among all the changes in modern medical terminology, two main processes attract attention in the first place: the emergence of a large number of new terms and a change in the distinction between active and passive vocabulary. Given the extralinguistic causes of both processes, it can be predicted that similar changes are taking place now in most languages of the world. In addition, even without special research, it is clear that the main number of neologisms borrowed from English has an international character and Latin-Greek etymology. Today we can begin to describe, systematize and classify some processes that occur in the lexical system as the most mobile tier of language, which actively responds to all extralinguistic factors in society. Without being able to focus on all the problems of modern medical terminology related to the pandemic, we will consider the situation with lexical- thematic groups "name of coronavirus infection" and "names of social restrictions associated with the pandemic" as the most striking sections of the general problem. After all, due to the pandemic, almost all languages of the world are undergoing serious lexical changes. Among the main processes are the emergence of a large number of new medical terms and the change in the distinction between active and passive vocabulary, when professional medical vocabulary becomes an active vocabulary of every ordinary person. Consider this assumption on the example of two thematic groups - "covid" and "social isolation". The material for the study was the publication of periodicals, orders and recommendations of various levels from the Ministry of Health to rectors and directors of educational institutions, banners of various types, news sites, etc.

Comprehending English medical terms represents a major obstacle for medical students, especially the none-native English speaking learners that might lead some of them to failure sometimes. This study was intended to examine the usefulness of a “pre-lecture medical terminology guide” in improving those students’ academic achievement and class participation during their study of a physiotherapy course. A two-cycle approach of intervention was followed implementing a written pre-lecture guide in the first cycle, and a written pre-lecture guide with a 5-minute explanatory lecture in the second cycle. The obtained results showed a slight improvement in students’ scoring in the first cycle, but a significant one during the second cycle. In addition, the findings revealed students’ preference of pre-lecture medical terminology guide with a 5-minute explanatory lecture as an effective teaching method for them to understand the medical terms in English. The students also showed a positive feedback towards the pre-lecture guide and felt it helped them understand and memorize difficult medical vocabulary more easily. They also believed that the same technique should be used with other physiotherapy classes.

In 2020, almost all nations face a pandemic of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, including Russia. This virus has affected all spheres of social life, not excluding the field of education, and has required radical changes. The COVID-19 pandemic has given a strong impetus to the transition to a new education format, so students in higher education institutions have moved to a distance-learning format. With the transition to a new format, educational institutions had to face many difficulties, mainly the lack of experience and practice of mass introduction of remote access technologies to provide and receive educational services. At the same time, tremendous work has been carried out in Russia to amend the existing legislation on education, improve methods of regulating and controlling the educational process and the quality of education

The Covid-19 pandemic has plagued almost all parts of the world. The virus is transmitted by droplets, droplets, or in medical terms known as droplets when someone coughs, sneezes, or talks. There are two ways of transmitting the corona virus through droplets, namely directly and indirectly. The use of masks in preventing direct transmission of the virus is an important thing to do. Making waterproof masks made from polyester fabrics that are waterproof, splash or droplet seepage is an alternative for people to get proper masks without having to spend a lot of money. The use of a waterproof mask made from polyester cloth is not only more economical, but also more environmentally friendly because it can be reused. The simple manufacturing process and easy and inexpensive materials allow this business to be accepted by the community. This waterproof mask making training can improve the readiness of the people of Langsa City, especially Lhokbanie Village, to face the Covid-19 pandemic. The mask products produced from this training can also be used repeatedly so that they can protect the environment.
