Introduction. The objective of the research is to study the effect of the complex activation of the alumina raw material on the rheological properties of the ceramic mass. In addition, the authors investigate solutions for the application of optimal coagulation structures based on loams and ash together with plastic certificates.Materials and methods. The authors used the local forest like reserves of clay loams at the BashKarasu, ash fields of the Bishkek Central Heating Centre (BTEC) and plasticizer (sodium naphthenate obtained from alkaline chemical production wastes) as fibrous materials. Moreover, the authors defined technological properties of raw materials within standard laboratory methodology in accordance with current GOSTs.Results. The researchers tested plastic durability on variously prepared masses for the choice of optimal structures. The paper demonstrated the plastic durability of complexly activated compounds comparing with non-activated and mechanically activated compounds. The sensitivity coefficient increased the amount of clay loams by mechanically and complexly activated, which predetermined the possibility of intensifying the process of drying samples based on complexly activated masses.Discussion and conclusions. However, mechanical activation of clay material reduces the period of relaxation and increases the elasticity coefficient of ceramic masses by 1.8–3.4 times, meanwhile decreases elasticity, viscosity and the conventional power during molding, which generally worsens the molding properties of the masses. Сomplex activation of ash-clay material decreases the period of relaxation and provides an increase in elasticity, plasticity of ceramic masses by 46–47%, reduction in viscosity by 1.5–2 times, conventional power on molding by 37–122% in comparison with MA clay loams. Ceramic masses based on spacecraft alumina raw materials belong to the SMT with improved rheological properties; products based on them pass through the mouthpiece for 5–7 seconds.

The art of chisel mask is developed in Tumpang Malang area as part of dance costume fairs, puppet show andcultural ritual, although in its development, this mask sculpture is also sold and become a tourism commodity. The potentialsales of mask sculptures is increasing, especially because of the demanders are foreign tourists, cultural enthusiasts andcomponent of tourism activities. That is, Topeng Malangan has the potential to be developed as an export commodity. Thesales system is still limited to cultural events or when there is a visit of education and tourism to the arts-padepokan. Thisprompted some people around the padepokan to start a home industry to meet the availability of the mask. In general, theproblems encountered by the craftsmen are (1) availability of raw materials, especially for suitable wood species, (2)production equipment, especially for pre-carving process and preservation of product, (3) there is no standard marketingscheme, (4) does not have a business management system, and (5) highly skilled craftsmen are still very limited. The solutionsoffered are divided into three stages: (1) technological strengthening, including strengthening production process technologyand increasing the number of craftsmen; (2) establishing business management; and (3) establishing trademarks, copyrightsand product marketing expansions

The clay mineral kaolinite was used as support of gold nanoparticles for heterogeneous catalysis of oxidation reactions, particularly of carbon monoxide oxidation. The application of clay minerals in the preparation of new functional materials provides an alternative approach for the use of these abundant raw materials. To improve the physicochemical properties of kaolinite, as well as to ensure a strong immobilization of the adsorbed species, kaolinite was functionalized by grafting 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol on the internal and external surfaces of the octahedral sheets by reaction with the aluminol groups. Gold nanoparticles were then deposited on the external surfaces of the fine particles of the functionalized kaolinite. The resulting gold kaolinite nanohybrid material was characterized by various physicochemical techniques. X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry confirmed that gold was effectively reduced to the metallic state during adsorption onto the external surfaces of the modified kaolinite. The gold nanoparticles have a narrow size distribution: more than 88% are less than 4 nm in diameter. Gold nanoparticles deposited on kaolinite catalyze the electro-oxidation of carbon monoxide in alkaline solution at room temperature.

This study aims to identify internal factors and external factors of UD Betris, as well as to determine the strategy for developing the business of bamboo batik handicraft industry UD Betris. Betris in Meras Village. This research was conducted from April to June 2018. The data used were primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained through observation and interviews which are divided into two parties, namely internal parties (business owners and labor) and external parties (local government and consumers) with 8 (eight) respondents. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from literature studies. Analysis of the data used is by using a SWOT analysis. The results showed that internal factors include: raw materials, quality of raw materials, price of raw materials, product uniqueness, business spirit and craftsman skills, product prices, product durability and quality, not having financial records, traditional production equipment, product arrangement that has not been arranged neat, promotion is not efficient, does not have a special place of business, and there is no parking space. external factors include: high market opportunities, government support, opportunities for training, opportunities to participate in exhibitions, plastic substitute goods, interest in business successors, and the existence of competitors using modern production tools. Based on the SWOT diagram, the chosen strategy is a combination of SO, namely: 1) Maintaining product quality and continuing to develop products by innovating to create bamboo handicraft products with new designs. 2) Continue to work with the government and related agencies to develop and expand marketing areas so that products are better known to local and foreign communities through training and exhibition events. *jnkd*.

To reconstruct the technological methods and technical achievements of Northern Selkup blacksmiths, the components of the Northern Selkup shaman costume, which is composed of ferrous metal, were studied using metallographic analysis methods. The materials were found in two graves in a Kikki-Akki burial ground from the XVII–XVIII centuries (Western Siberia, Taz river). It was found that the basic raw materials for production were unevenly carbonized steel and soft iron; high-carbon steel was also found in rare instances, which was most likely received by Northern Selkup blacksmiths from Russia. The iron items of the shaman costume were forged by professional blacksmiths who possessed complex technological skills and production equipment.

Upaya pengembangan kerajinan eceng gondok di Gorontalo sebagai sektor unggulan harus dilandasi oleh karakteristik yang meliputi potensi dan permasalahan. Namun, data tentang karakteristik kerajinan belum tersedia secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali unsur-unsur kerajinan eceng gondok Gorontalo untuk mengungkap potensi dan permasalahan yang ada. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif model studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, tes, dan studi pustaka. Data dianalisis secara interaktif melalui seleksi dan pengkodean, kategorisasi, penyajian data dan diskusi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerajinan eceng gondok Gorontalo memiliki karakteristik aspek: pengrajin, teknologi produksi, produk, dan distribusi yang mencerminkan potensi dan permasalahan yang ada. Karakteristik pengrajin adalah ahli dalam keterampilan produksi tetapi lemah dalam inovasi desain. Ciri khas teknologi produksi adalah potensi ketersediaan bahan baku dan cara kerja yang sistematis. Tetap saja, ini bermasalah dalam modernisasi peralatan produksi dan pembagian kerja. Karakteristik dari segi produk adalah potensinya dalam keragaman produk tetapi masalah dalam standarisasi ukuran dan ergonomis. Ciri-ciri dari aspek distribusi meliputi potensi dalam memasarkan produk dengan berbagai cara tetapi terdapat masalah dalam promosi dan peningkatan citra sosial produk. Temuan ini bisa dijadikan acuan untuk merumuskan konsep pengembangan kerajinan eceng gondok Gorontalo secara tepat atau sejenisnya. Characteristics of Gorontalo Water Hyacinth Craft Art  Abstract: Efforts to develop water hyacinth craft in Gorontalo as a leading sector must be based on characteristics that include potential and problems. However, data on the characteristics of crafts are not yet available comprehensively. This study aims to explore the characteristics of Gorontalo water hyacinth craft to uncover the potential and problems. The study used qualitative methods of case study models. The data were collected through observation, interviews, testing, and literature study. Data were analyzed interactively through selection and coding, categorization, data display and discussion, and conclusions. The results showed that Gorontalo water hyacinth craft has characteristics in aspects: crafters, production technology, products, and distribution that reflect the potential and problems. The characteristics of the crafters are experts in production skills but weak in design innovation. The characteristic of production technology is the potential in the availability of raw materials and systematic work methods. However, it is problematic in the modernization of production equipment and the division of labor. A characteristic in terms of products is its potential in product diversity but problems in standardizing size and ergonomics. The characteristics of the distribution aspect include the potential in marketing products in various ways but problems in the promotion and improvement of the social image of the product. This finding can be used as a reference to formulating the concept of developing Gorontalo water hyacinth craft appropriately or other similar crafts.

Abstract Additive manufacturing (AM) is regarded as a technology that has transformative and disruptive potential in nearly all industries. However, AM is not only about new production equipment and processes. Given the decreasing degree of vertical integration in many companies, suppliers add significant value to the finished product. AM might lead to the redesign of production networks, including a scenario in which the buyer uses AM to produce parts with data provided by suppliers. Overall, AM could have a major impact on the ways in which buyers and suppliers collaborate in the future. Nevertheless, research on AM in the field of industrial procurement remains scarce. This is surprising, given that AM is not only changing traditional procurement categories and creating new ones (comprising printers, powder raw materials, data and the associated engineering services) but AM’s widely discussed potential for decentralisation might also restructure the logistical aspects (transport, stocks) of supply chains. In addition, AM may resurrect the old procurement question of ‘make or buy’. Current research focuses on the logistical aspects of AM and concerns such issues of decentralisation (such as the diminishing need for transportation and the design of transport networks). In contrast, this research addresses the question of whether AM demands new answers to strategic sourcing questions. For this purpose, academic journal literature concerning procurement and AM search strings is reviewed. Selected articles are analysed using a fine-grained analytical framework of procurement strategies. The findings show that existing research lacks theoretical approaches and a systematic view of the topic. Specifically, the analysis reveals a number of distinct knowledge gaps, which present several potential directions for future research.

Many processes in the iron and steel making industries emit carbon monoxide, which causes a variety of toxic effects on human health, such as fatigue, impaired memory, headache, and nausea. At elevated exposure, carbon monoxide poisoning may lead to loss of consciousness and death. Therefore, the current study has been carried out to investigate the occupational exposure of randomly selected fifty-eight employees of Pakistan Steel Mills to the carbon monoxide. The selected employees were from 10 different facilities of the Pakistan Steel Mills, who were working in two different shifts viz. nightshift and dayshift, each of twelve hours. Thirty employees from nightshift and twenty-eight employees from dayshift were monitored for their exposure to carbon monoxide. The instrument was logged to measure the employee’s exposure to carbon monoxide with 1-minute interval. The study reveals that the employees, working in the Raw Materials Production Plant during nightshift were exposed to the highest mean concentration of carbon monoxide while those working in Oxygen Plant during nightshift were exposed to the lowest mean concentration of carbon monoxide. According to study, the highest recorded exposure was found near Blast Furnace during dayshift. The employees’ exposure to 98th percentile concentration of carbon monoxide in different facilities of the steel mills has also been analyzed.
