This study was aimed at exploring mentors’ experiences at the College of Distance Education (CoDE), University of Cape Coast. The study adopted qualitative approach to bring out mentors’ insights into the mentoring process. Researchers employed census sampling techniques for the study. In all, 145 participants were used for the study. The main data collection instrument was open-ended questionnaire. The study revealed that mentors face professionalrelated, institutional-related and transportation challenges. Again, it came out that mentors adopted effective communication, guidance and counselling, orientation and sacrificial approach to manage the challenges they faced. The study recommended that the management of CoDE should consider adopting advance payment plan for mentors to reduce their financial burden. Also, College should consider adopting a cluster system where mentees are grouped based on their distribution in a particular location so that mentors would not have to travel far for supervision.

Objetivo: descrever a experiência vivenciada por pacientes submetidos ao cateterismo cardíaco à luz do Intervencionismo Simbólico. Método: estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa. Entrevistas do tipo narrativa foram utilizadas como instrumento de coleta de dados. A amostra foi composta por sete pacientes submetidos ao cateterismo cardíaco de diagnóstico. A análise foi ancorada a partir do Interacionismo Simbólico de Blumer. O trabalho foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética do Hospital Agamenon Magalhães sob o número 01536912.9.0000.5197. Resultados: diante da análise dos depoimentos emergiram as seguintes categorias: o medo como simbologia frente ao cateterismo cardíaco; o coração como símbolo da dualidade entre a vida e a morte; a figura onipotente do médico na decisão sobre a vida do paciente; e expectativas do pós cateterismo. Conclusão: os pacientes que se submetem ao cateterismo enfrentam sentimentos de ansiedade, medo e insegurança, mas também esperança e novas perspectivas para o futuro.ABSTRACTObjective: to describe the experience faced by patients undergoing to cardiac catheterization in a public hospital in Recife. Results: after statements analysis, the following categories emerged: fear as initial symbology of the cardiac catheterization; the heart as a symbol of duality between life and death; the omnipotent figure of the phisycian in the decision on the patient’s life; and expectations of post catheterization. Conclusion: patients undergoing catheterization face feelings of anxiety, fear and insecurity, but also hope and new prospects for the future. RESUMENObjetivo: describir la experiencia que enfrentan los pacientes sometidos a cateterismo cardíaco en un hospital público de Recife. Método: estudio descriptivo, con enfoque cualitativo. Las entrevistas narrativas se usaron como instrumento de recopilación de datos. La muestra consistió en siete pacientes sometidos a cateterismo cardíaco. El análisis de datos se basó en la interacción simbólica de Blumer. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética de Investigación del Hospital Agamenon Magalhães con el número 01536912.9.0000.5197. Resultados: después del análisis de las declaraciones, surgieron las siguientes categorías: miedo como simbología inicial del cateterismo cardíaco; el corazón como símbolo de dualidad entre la vida y la muerte; la figura omnipotente del médico en la decisión sobre la vida del paciente; y las expectativas de post cateterismo. ResumoEste trabalho tem como objetivo proceder um relato de experiência na disciplina de Contabilidade Tributária do Curso de Graduação presencial em Ciências Contábeis, tendo como recurso de apoio metodológico a utilização do Telegram, um aplicativo caracterizado como um serviço de mensagens instantâneas baseado na nuvem, em que é permitido ao usuário troca de mensagens, fotos, vídeos e arquivos de qualquer tipo, possibilitando a comunicação entre professor e aluno no compartilhamento de informações e materiais de aula. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, com o objetivo de retratar as características de utilização do Telegram como suporte de apoio metodológico, levado a campo com abordagem qualitativa e que se ancora nas intersecções entre metodologias ativas e ações didático-pedagógica. O instrumento de coleta de dados foi o registro das interações realizadas no Telegram. Utilizou-se de categorias de análises, sendo essas: descrever, informar, confrontar e reconstruir. O início desta pesquisa ocorreu com a criação de um canal dedicado ao compartilhamento de informações e materiais da disciplina. Os resultados deste estudo indicaram um avanço na socialização e interatividade, promovendo discussões sobre os temas da disciplina, ampliando as capacidades de retorno de informações e reflexões do professor e suas práticas, o que favorece amplamente as mudanças. Conclui-se que, o uso de metodologias ativas de ensino realizadas, por meio deste aplicativo, contribuem no campo de conhecimento, quanto às potencialidades do Telegram, na socialização, na comunicação, na mediação e ao estímulo para a continuidade dos estudos. AbstractThis work aims to provide an experience report in the Tax Accounting discipline of the on-site undergraduate course in Accounting Sciences, using Telegram as a methodological support resource, an application characterized as a cloud-based instant messaging service, where the user is allowed to exchange messages, photos, videos and files of any kind, enabling communication between the professor and the student in the sharing of information and class materials. This is a descriptive study, with the objective of portraying the characteristics of using Telegram as a support for methodological support, carried out in the field with a qualitative approach and anchored in the intersections between active methodologies and didactic-pedagogical actions. The data collection instrument was the recording of interactions carried out on the Telegram. Analysis categories were used, namely: describe, inform, confront and reconstruct. The beginning of this research took place with the creation of a channel dedicated to sharing the discipline's information and materials. The results of this study indicated an advance in socialization and interactivity, promoting discussions on the subjects of the discipline, expanding the professors’ ability to return information and reflections and their practices, which largely favors changes. It is concluded that the use of active teaching methodologies carried out, through this application, contributes to the field of knowledge, regarding the potential of Telegram, in socialization, communication, mediation and encouragement in the continuity of studies. The IFRS for SMEs is an important element for attaining competitive advantage, attracting investors and gaining access to financial assistance in today’s world of competitive business irrespective of their size. The study assessed the adoption and implementation challenges of IFRS for SMEs among SMES in GA East (Madina). To assess the adoption and implementation benefits and challenges, a qualitative research and conceptual and theoretical framework was developed. These guided the design of the data collection instrument to suit the research. The study collected primary data by conducting interviews on 20 respondents. Purposive sampling techniques were used to select the firms. Data collected as transcribed and coded into the Nvivo software. The study revealed that, about 60% of Small and medium entities in Madina do not have knowledge about the IFRS for SMEs. The study further revealed that meeting regulatory requirements and avoiding noncompliance cost were some of the factors that necessitated firms with little knowledge on the standard to adopt it.

The study was conducted to explore the determinants of target victim selection by criminals, mode of operations adopted by criminals and the factors considered in the selection of victims by criminals. The study adopted a qualitative approach where simple random and purposively sampling techniques were used to select a sample size of 50 inmates in the Gambaga prisons. Interview guide was the main tool used for the data collection for this study. The study found that victimization influences criminal intentions and behaviour of an individual. The inmates noted that they like to attack victims in isolation and in dark places, especially at night. The study further found that criminals operated in gangs, in areas with darkness and in the night using caps and tattered dresses that anonymized them. They also used fear to traumatize their victims, monitor their victims, as well as operated with guns and knives and under special requests of other individuals in society.

O presente estudo teve como objetivo conhecer a percepção de trabalhadores do sistema socioeducativo sobre o adolescente em cumprimento da medida de internação, considerando que essa percepção influencia diretamente na maneira como a medida é executada. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório de campo, com abordagem qualitativa, que utilizou como instrumento para a coleta de dados uma entrevista semiestruturada, na qual os resultados foram tratados com a análise de conteúdo na modalidade temática. Como resultados foram elencadas três categorias temáticas: 1) Motivos que levam ao ato infracional e os responsáveis por esses adolescentes; 2) O trabalho nas medidas socioeducativas de internação; 3) Entre a vítima e o vilão: A percepção dos trabalhadores sobre a efetividade das medidas socioeducativas de internação. Os trabalhadores percebem o adolescente sob a ótica do estigma de infrator. Acredita-se que essa percepção, que destacou a família como a grande responsável pelo rompimento social do adolescente, influencia diretamente no curso do cumprimento da medida, inclusive na efetivação.  É necessário ampliar essas discussões sobre os trabalhadores que participam da execução da medida socioeducativa de internação, para contribuição e reflexão sobre o seu processo de trabalho e sua interferência no direcionamento de vidas. AbstractThe present study had as objective to know the perception of workers of the socioeducative system on the adolescent in fulfillment of the hospitalization measure considering that this perception directly influences in the way the measurement is executed. It is an exploratory field study, with a qualitative approach, which used as a data collection instrument a semi-structured interview, in which the results were treated with the content analysis in the thematic modality. As results were listed three thematic categories: 1) Motives that lead to the infraction and those responsible for these adolescents; 2) Work on socio-educational measures of hospitalization; 3) Between the victim and the villain: The workers' perception about the effectiveness of the socio-educational measures of hospitalization. The workers perceive the adolescent from the perspective of the stigma of the offender. It is believed that this perception, which highlighted the family as the major responsible for the social disruption of the adolescent, directly influences the course of compliance of the measure, including its effectiveness. Charity activities are usually implemented in the form of giving and sharing to others for help reduce social problems. In Padang, West Sumatra there is a sharing movement known as Kopi Dindiang (KD). The purpose of this study was to describe social practices in the arena of sharing (charity) type Kopi Dindiang in the Padang city. This Study uses a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive and informants using purposive sampling techniques. In analysing this research the writer uses social practice theory from Pierre Felix Bourdieu which discuss several concepts namely habit, field and capital with the formula (habit x capital) + Field = social practice, and data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results of this study indicate that the habit and capital owned by agents do not always determine the success of a field. The proof is that social practices in the field of type Kopi Dindiang have decreased in existence due to several constraints from donors and outlet owners. such as causes of inactivity of Kopi Dindiang outlets which also relates to the structure that has been determined, as 3 less active and 5 the causes of inactivity of Kopi Dindiang donors. While the authors found 7 of habit from donors and owners of Kopi Dindiang outlets.

The article investigates the strategies used by Distance Education (DE) tutors to mobilize students in carrying out the activities available in the Virtual Learning Environment. To reflect on the mobility of tutors, learning theories outlined for Distance Education were revisited. The methodology consisted of a study applied at a university in southern Brazil. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire was developed and applied to a group of tutor professors who work in DE. The testimonies obtained were analyzed to show the strategies used to mobilize students in the perspective of meaningful learning. The analysis showed that the terms mobilization and motivation are used interchangeably; the dimensions of meaningful learning (active, authentic, cooperation, constructive and intentional) are used to mobilize students, but not all dimensions have been captured in digital reports. This can be indicative of prioritizing one dimension over another. It was concluded that further investigations should be carried out to demystify the tutor's strategies regarding learning theories.

This research has the  aim  to  evaluate aspects of  COVID-19  surveillance  input in Buleleng Health Center  I.   The research  design used  is  descriptive  research  with  qualitative approach.  Data  collection techniques used  are  in-depth  interview  techniques  with research informants  as many as  5 people with purposive sampling  techniques  and data retrieval techniques using structured interviews, documentation studies and observations.   The conclusion of  this  study is that man  is not  in accordance  with the  guidelines; methode in accordance  with  the  guidelines  is the availability of  guidelines for  prevention  and prevention of  COVID-19 Disease Rev.5; the allocation of funds has not been in accordance  with the guidelines  because the amount of  funds  available does not match the  increase in  cases  that occur but the source of  funds  is  appropriate; facilities  and  infrastructure   are only  problems of the internet network  that have  not been  in accordance  with  the guidelines

The purpose of this study is to describe the role of the reading corner in fostering students' interest in reading in elementary school. This type of research is phenomenology with a qualitative approach. The informants of this study were the homeroom teacher 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 primary schools 34/1 Lotus, the data collection instrument used observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are seen that the reading corner has a very important role in fostering students' interest in reading in elementary school, this is evident from the presence of several reading corner roles that can foster interest in reading students in elementary school. This study can be concluded that the reading corner is very helpful in fostering students 'interest in reading in the classroom, the role of the reading corner in growing students' interest in reading is, as a facilitator where to read, as the closest reading material, a comfortable reading place and an interesting reading place, so that of some the role helps foster students' interest in reading in elementary school.

The main problems in this study are (1) To analyze how the stages of ritual procession of public trust in Sande boat making ', (2) To analyze what the symbolic message is contained in the ritual procession of public confidence in the making of Sande' s boat. This research was conducted in Pamboang District, Bonde Village, Majene Regency. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative approach. Primary data obtained through in-depth interviews to the parties that have been determined by using purposive sampling techniques, as well as direct observation in the field. Secondary data is obtained from data collection through documents and literature related to the research topic. The results of this study indicate that the ritual procession that accompanies Sande boat making is seen in three major stages ie before boatbuilding, boat making process and after boatbuilding. The meaning contained in the implementation of the ritual is the hope that always be given salvation by Allah SWT in using the boat. In addition, the ritual also intends to invoke the abundant sustenance of the process of going to sea later.Keywords: Mythology, Sande 'Boat, Society.
