This qualitative research is about material process and technique of translation in Donald Trump’s inauguration speech text. The data source is Donald Trump’s inauguration speech text and the research data are in the form of clauses that contain material processes in inauguration speech of Donald Trump. The researcher used the theory proposed by Spradley (1998) in analyzing the data. The research was conducted by accomodating two theories: the theory of material process proposed by Halliday (2004) and the theory of translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir (2002). The result of this study shows that there were 119 data found in inauguration speech of Donald Trump that are relevant with the research problem. and the researcher found eleven generalization,  particularization, linguistic compression, linguistic amplification, modulation, compensation, reduction, literal translation, and transposition. The use of literal translation technique is dominant than other techniques in this research. The researcher found 94 data that contains literal translation technique in the research findings where type of doing 67 and happening 27.  Besides, the less of translation techniques used are borrowing, reduction, and linguistic amplification with one data. Literal technique is the most frequent because  this technique does not distort meanings in the source language; thus, the meanings can be conveyed into the readers in target language well. The researcher expects the next researchers to do analysis on translation with other object of research.

The data are analyzed qualitatively by using the subtitle translation techniques. The data collection is conducted through reading source language and target language, selecting and comparing the translation techniques done by the translator/dubber, marking, classifying and analyzing them based on the theories of translation technique proposed by Molina and Albir. The result shows that subtitle techniques done by the translator consist of eleven techniques. While the dubber only uses nine techniques in translating the lyrics into the dubbed version. In general, the translator’s technique applied in the subtitled version is mostly literal translation; While the dubbed version’s most common techniques are modulation and reduction.---Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang teknik penerjemahan subtitle dan dubbing dalam OST Frozen: Let It Go sebagai korpusnya.

The current study aimed to find out the translation techniques applied by the translator in creating the Indonesian subtitles for the original lyrics of Shelter – a collaboration project of music video by Porter Robinson and Madeon, A1-Pictures and Crunchyroll uploaded on YouTube in 2016. The data were analyzed based on the audiovisual translation theory, especially the linguistics of subtitling, the translation technical procedures in the compared stylistics, and the choice in song translation. The study also applied qualitative approach which enabled the researchers to emerge data in descriptive way (in the form of words or pictures instead of numbers). Furthermore, the data were also in the forms of an audiovisual content. The study indicated that most of the lyrics were translated based on literal translation that was reflected by the equivalence of the source language and the target language. The audiovisual theory, particularly reduction theory was also applied in creating the subtitles. In addition, the subtitles were created without taking the music into consideration, meaning that the subtitles were devoted as a supplement or no more than another piece of the source text.

The research aims to analyze the translation techniques of subtitling used on Trolls movie. This research use a qualitative research. The content analysis is used as a method to identify and analyze the translation techniques in Trolls movie. Every utterance in five scenes of Trolls movie are the unit of analysis of this research. The source language is English and the target language is Indonesian Language. The result proves that the translation technique that mostly appears on Trolls movie (2016) is reduction with 8 data (26.67%). It seems that this technique is used to compress the information from the source language so that it will not be too long because it will be applied in subtitle; it results the shortest translation version to be applied to movie or film subtitle so that it will be easier for the viewers to catch the information and it will not distract the visual from the film that is being shown; and it can avoid the redundancy of the source language.

Second, it is addition and reduction which make the result of translation more informative, short, and logical. Next thing is the literal translation which translates the source language literally. Then the linguistic adaptation which adapts the grammar of source language to target language. The data received had been researched to be analyzed in the translation technique.

Abstract: The legal systems, even if they may belong to the same branche of law, as is the case in France and Spain, are specific in each country and, therefore, different from the rest of the legal systems of other countries. This results in translation to a cultural anisomorphism. The translator must be aware of this in order not to fall into translation errors that will make it impossible for the reader to understand the text in the target language. It is important to know that, in legal translation, one cultural reality is not translated by another, but that the cultural reality of the source language must be expressed in the target language. This is presented as a challenge for the translator, who must have extensive cultural knowledge of both countries and an adequate documentation capacity. Therefore, this study aims to highlight the importance of cultural knowledge in translation and, more specifically, in legal translation through the analysis of a series of terms that come from the legal-criminal branch. In this analysis, we will find the explanation of the concept of the source language, the context, the proposal (or translation proposals), the translation technique we have used, as well as comments in which we explain their translation problems and their cultural anisomorphism. Keywords: cultural anisomorphism, cultural realities, translation techniques, legal translation, criminal terminology.
