The discussion on gender in education is not new in Bhutan. The policies, program and political will for years aimed to achieve gender equality. Despite numerous program, strategies and policies in various forms, there is less studies done to examine its effectiveness. The main aim of this study was to find out how teachers are aware and adopt gender responsive pedagogy in their day to day teaching learning process. This study was carried out in one higher secondary school under Thimphu Thromde with mixed method by adopting non-probability convenient sampling techniques. Data was collected through test, observation and face to face interview with teachers. SPSS version 22 was used to analyze test score via mean, standard deviation and one sample t-test. The findings revealed that teachers do not know much on gender and gender responsive pedagogy. There was also less attention paid to language use, class room set up, classroom interactions and use of text books. This study recommended the Royal University of Bhutan, Ministry of Education, Royal Education Council and school to conduct professional development, training and sensitize all education stakeholders on gender responsive school and pedagogy. The Ministry of Education and schools should carry out capacity development for teachers and education officials to enable them to adopt gender responsive skills in their day to day teaching learning process and to promote positive mind set on gender equity with a bottom up approach.

Man has always tried  to determine  and tamper the image of woman and especially her identity is manipulated and orchestrated. Whenever a woman is spoken of, it is always in the relation to man; she is presented as a wife , mother, daughter and even as a lover but never as a woman  a human being- a separate entity. Her entire life is idealized and her fundamental rights and especially her behaviour is engineered by the adherents of patriarchal society. Commenting  on the Man-woman relationship in a marital bond Simone de Beauvoir wrote in her epoch-making book entitled The Second Sex(1949): "It has been said that marriage diminishes man,  which is often true , but almost always it annihilates women". Feminist movement advocates the equal rights and equal opportunities for women. The true spirit of feminism is into look at women and men as human beings. There should not be gender bias or discrimination in familial and social life. To secure gender justice and gender equity is the key aspects of feminist movement. In India, women writers have come forward to voice their feminist approach to life and the patriarchal family set up. They believe that the very notion of gender is not only biotic and biologic episode but it has a social construction.

Once Dr. Bob Kizlik had said that learning, regardless of how it is defined, is ultimately the responsibility of the learner, not the teacher. Today problem based learning with appropriate use of ICTs has emerged to achieve the objectives of learning in a more effective manner since teaching-learning process has also become learner-centered now. We are moving towards the new techniques of quality teaching by using digital pedagogy, a new way of engaging students with the curriculum. One such instructional strategy of teaching is a flipped class room- a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom. Present paper focuses on the significance of using digital pedagogy & flipped classroom in teaching-learning process, which changes homework activities into the classroom thereby, promotes sustainable learning since this is relevant and responsive to students’ needs. The problem of this research was the students had low understanding on Matematics. This problem was led by some factors. The factors were the low students involvement in a teaching-learning process, the unrelevant material to their daily life, and the less involvement to concept building during the learning process. The aims of this research were to explain: (1) the different Math understanding betwen the studentstaught by using CTL approach and conventional technique, in teaching Math for 4thgrade students of Elementary School in Padang, (2) the different Math understanding between male and female students of 4th grade of elementary school in Padang, and (3) the different interaction between teaching approach and gender in influencing Math understanding of 4th grade students of Elementary School in Padang. This research was Quasi Experimental Design research by using factorial design. The population of this research was all of 4th grade students of Elementary School in North Padang municipality. The sample gotten through random sampling were SDN 11Lolong as the control class and SDN 13 Lolong as the experimental class, CTL was implemented; meanwhile, in the control class, conventional technique was implemented. Futhermore, the data of this research was collected through students’ achievement sheet. Then the hypothesis was tested by using two ways anava. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that (1) there was no different on Math understanding between students’ taught by using CTL approach and those who were taught by using conventional technique, (2) there was no different on Math understanding between male and female students, and (3) there was no significant interaction between teaching approach and gender in influencing Math understanding.

The teaching learning process in every domain keeps changing abreast to academic and industrial practises. Other than knowledge, the acquisition of skill sets is demanded nowadays. The present generation may be a computer wizard, a scientific mastermind or a technocrat, but they are expected to possess a good skill set. To be successful, subject expertise alone is not enough. In this context, the Higher Education Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has published a Student's Hand Book Skill Genie (SHBSG -2016). A very laudable attempt and this move certainly helps students to refine their communicative competency and soft skills which absolutely increases their employability quotient. This chapter reviewed the appropriateness and usefulness of the book through a select lesson and the authors of this research paper wanted to share the class room experiments and anew experience which they tried in an academic setting with III ECE “A” (2017 -2021 batch), Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. In addition to that, this chapter appraises Skill Genie (SG) as well.
