An appendectomy is a surgical procedure performed to cut the inflamed appendix tissue. Appendectomy can cause tissue continuity and pain in the peripheral nervous system. Non-pharmacological pain management can use classical music therapy and finger grips. A preliminary study conducted in RSUD Kab. Karanganyar found the incidence of appendectomy in July-September 2019 as many as 48 patients. To find out the comparison of classical music therapy and finger grips on the reduction of postoperative appendectomy pain, a Quasi experimental research method was used with two group comparisons pretest-posttest design, with the sampling technique is accidental sampling. From the results based on the Wilcoxon test in the classical music therapy group and finger grasping, the p value was 0.038, because the p value was <0.05, there was a difference in pain intensity before and after being given classical music therapy and finger grips. The Mann-Whitney test in the pre-test group obtained each p value of 0.650, because the p value> 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in decreasing pain scale in postoperative appendectomy patients who are given finger grips and classical music. each of them has effectiveness in reducing post appendectomy pain. Classical music therapy and finger grips were equally effective in reducing postoperative pain in the appendectomy

Menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea is known as cramping pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation experienced by some women. Abdominal stretching exercises and acupressure can reduce dysmenorrhea. This research aims to determine the difference in the intensity of primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) between abdominal stretching therapy and acupressure for adolescent girls in a Senior High School in Denpasar. The method applied in this research is a Quasi-Experimental two-groups pretest-posttest design. The research sample was grouped into two, namely 70 high school students in the abdominal stretching therapy and 70 students in acupressure therapy. The data were collected using the Numerical Rating Scales or NRS. The data were then analysed using the Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. The result of the research showed that there was a significant difference in dysmenorrhea before and after abdominal stretching therapy (p=0.000). Also, there was a significant difference in dysmenorrhea before and after acupressure therapy (p=0.000). There was no difference in dysmenorrhea before applying abdominal stretching therapy and acupressure with a p-value=0.335. Also, there was no difference in dysmenorrhea after both therapies were undergone in two groups (p=0,111). The difference test on the difference between the pre-test and post-test obtained p-value = 0.012. Hence, there was a significant difference in decreasing dysmenorrhea between abdominal stretching therapy and acupressure (p=0.012). Conclusion: there is a significant difference in reducing dysmenorrhea between abdominal stretching therapy and acupressure. Objective: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of counseling and digital booklet on the level of treatment adherence through reduced pain scale, Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) scores, and pill count scores in patients with cancer pain using opioid analgesics. Methods: The author conducted this study at Dharmais Cancer Hospital with a quasi-experimental design. The study sample consisted of 134 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, underwent a counseling intervention, and received a digital booklet. The author divided the sample into two groups, the counseling group (n=67) and the digital booklet group (n=67). Adherence level was measured using MMAS-8 and pill count. The pain scale was measured using the Numerical Rating Scale. Those measurements were conducted before the intervention (pre-test) and after 2 weeks of provisioning counseling and receipt of the digital booklet (post-test). Results: The results showed that each counseling and digital booklet improve adherence (p<0.05) and decrease pain scale (p<0.05). There was a significant difference in changes in the level of adherence (p=0.027) between the two groups. However, there was no significant difference in changes in the pain scale (p=0.132) between the two groups. Conclusions: The analysis showed a significant difference (p<0.05) between adherence level and pain scale before and after intervention by both counseling and digital booklet. Nevertheless, adherent increasing and pain scale reduction by counseling is better than a digital booklet.

The period of menarche in Indonesia has reached 60-70% who experience dysmenorrhea and cause women to be unable to carry out activities and reduce women's quality of life. This study aims to describe the effect of acupressure therapy on the intensity of menstrual pain. This type of quantitative research is a quasi-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach with sampling using a purposive sampling technique using 100 respondents from April 20 to June 21 2020. The data was obtained from a questionnaire and processed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed the overall data of the variable dysmenorrhea pre test - post test in the intervention group Asymp value. The significance is 0.000 <0.05, while the control group has Asymp value. The significance is 1,000 > 0.05, so it can be concluded that the results of the analysis of changes in the pain scale pre-test - post-test in the intervention group showed a significant change between the pre-test and post-test pain scales. It can be seen from the measurement results of the Mean Rank pain scale before therapy is 0.00 and Mean Rank after therapy is 25.50 which means there is a decrease in the intensity of menstrual pain. Based on the results of the research above, adolescents need to add information and understanding through various mass media to equip themselves in dealing with complementary menstrual pain
