In recent years, the developed countries of the world are building their policies to ensure more sustainable development. The main goal of sustainable development, which is a model of economic development, is to ensure that available resources are used for human needs while protecting the environment. Thus, when using these resources, not only the current situation, but also the potential needs of future generations must be considered. Given the demand for energy and energy resources in modern times, we can see how important a sustainable energy policy is. Keywords: green economy, sustainable development, green policy.

Since the Second World War, what has been called the development economics, which made the developed countries seek to achieve this development and at all levels economically, politically, socially and humanly, these countries sought to achieve all this and already reached what they wanted without taking into account this nature or the environment and what will happen? And what will happen to future generations? The concept of sustainable development emerged at the end of the last decade of the twentieth century. This concept was similar to the previous developmental concepts. It is concerned with satisfying the needs of the present and achieving social welfare, but not at the expense of future generations. Through the conservation of all natural resources, taking into account the environment that must be maintained and integrated into the policies of economic and social development from here emerged the importance of sustainable development, which takes into account the economy and Leah and the community.

The article is devoted to the issues of measuring environmentally oriented economic development. The current stage of economic development requires the integration of environmental development, taking into account: environmental boundaries, biosphere processes, social problems, human needs and environmental processes. A green economy can become the main point of growth for the modern global economy. The article presents a complex of measures for the transition to a green economy, as well as tools for their implementation.

Introduction Nosocomial infections (NIs) are a serious health problem in hospitals worldwide and are followed by a series of consequences, medical, judicial, ethical and economic. Objective The main aim of this study was to assess the magnitude of NIs at the Clinical Centre in Kragujevac. Methods A prevalence study of nosocomial infections was conducted from 16th till 20th May, 2005, within Second National Prevalence Study of Nis in the Republic of Serbia. Results The study included 866 patients. 40 patients had a NI, thus the prevalence of patients with NIs and prevalence of NIs was the same, 4.6%. Among NIs, the most frequent were urinary infections (45.0%) followed by surgical-site infections (17.5%), skin and soft tissue infections (15%) and pneumonia (12.5%). The rate of NIs was highest at departments of orthopaedics and traumatological surgery (12.0%), followed by intensive care units (8.0%). Overall, 67.5% (27/40) NIs were culture-proved; the leading pathogens were Escherichia coli (40.0%), followed by gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas species, Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacteriaceae with equal frequency of 8.0%). Nosocomial infections were significantly more frequent in patients aged ?65 years (p<0.05), with longer hospitalization ?8 days (p<0.00), in intensive care patients (p<0.05), patients with an intravenous catheter (p<0.00), urinary catheter (p<0.00), and those under antibiotic therapy (p<0.00). Conclusion This study showed that the prevalence of nosocomial infections in our hospital is similar to the prevalence in the developed countries. The study of prevalence provides a prompt insight into basic epidemiological and ethiological characteristics of nosocomial infections, hence identification of hospital priorities and the need to undertake appropriate prevention measures. .

Sustainable development and sustainable housing indicators are a response to the trend of adopting sustainable development objectives, adopted by most countries, especially developed and less developed countries. It is difficult to implement indicators developed for a developing country context in other contexts with different social, economic and environmental conditions. Social sustainability is the most important priority regarding evaluating the housing development projects in the developed and less developed countries. Economic conditions is linked in many aspects to the social sustainability indicators. Environmental indicators are important, but the less developed countries in general has a very low environmental foot prints, this is because the industry sector is usually week comparing to the developed countries. This paper reviews the sustainable housing indicators, with a focus on United Nations reports and indicators developed for contexts similar to study area, without ignoring the most reputable indicators developed for developing countries context. The research came with a set of indicators reflects the social priorities of the new housing development in Sudan. A questionnaire participants decided the relative important of each indicator and also the importance of the parameters of each indicator. Developing a set of social priorities for Sudan will give extra efficiency in promoting and assessing sustainability in the study area. Description of the questionnaire results which reflects the national social sustainable housing development priorities are discussed. The researches came with a set of recommendations to enhance the social aspects for new housing development projects in Sudan. Using this set of priorities and recommendations will give extra efficiency in promoting and assessing sustainability in the study area.

Information for the sustainable development in Macedonia is insufficient. It is important to meet human needs and the needs of its environment for the sustainable development but raising awareness is the necessary assumption. The sustainable development has multidisciplinary nature, a concept that includes the economy, ecology, ethics, sociology, law and policy and links the well-being of present and future generations with the capacity and limitations of biosphere in a way to make the life more sustainable. The aim of this paper is to examine all these aspects and impact on raising awareness of the need for the sustainable development. Through various forms of the surveys in public sector, the primary and secondary school, the faculty, in health care and factories, offer people the ability to move in wide initiatives for the sustainable development. Based on the results of the survey, which was conducted in the municipality of Gostivar in the Republic of Macedonia, using statistical analysis, appropriate conclusions and proposals were performed. Faculty research is focused on the present state of organic agricultural production in the Republic of Serbia, with emphasis on existing legislation and activities planned in the next period, as well on the parallel between organic agriculture and basic principles of green economy, which represents great perspective of Serbia considering its natural potential. Having in mind that the green economy is recognized by leading world organizations for environmental protection as one of factors that could support realization of sustainable development concept through “greening” economy and opening of new “green” workplaces, the goal of this chapter is to indicate the potential and importance of the larger participation of farmers in organic production as one of the most realistic “green” chances of Serbia.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a significant field of studies to stress the importance of the new role of organizations towards the society for sustainable development. Nowadays, an enormous number of authors have been participating in this field to highlight the responsibility of organizations towards the community, society and the natural environment where they are operating. Despite the growing number of researches related to CSR in the developed countries little empirical studies have been devoted to examine CSR concept and practice in the African countries, the MENA region (Middle-East and North Africa), as well as in the Golf countries. This chapter seeks to study CSR concept and practice in the emerging market economies (EMEs). It will mainly focus on the implementations of CSR by the public banking sector. We will investigate the role of the public banking sector existing in an Arab country in comparison to an Asian country to explain and analyze the similarities and differences of CSR activities in both experiences. In this comparative study we will primarily examine Banque Misr, as one of the oldest and largest public bank in Egypt and the Malayan Banking Berhad (trading as Maybank) as the largest public bank in Malaysia. After a meticulous review of literature, we propose a systemic framework to study CSR practices and policy implementations. We illustrated the CSR as a constant process where all variables are interrelated and are affecting each other in a mutual approach. In this systemic framework we advocated to study all significant variables related to CSR practice as: the history/philosophy development, core-values, CSR adopted definition, motives, key players, approaches, stakeholders focus, sectors of intervention and mechanisms of policy implementations. The chapter concludes that common CSR policies exist between the Malaysian and the Egyptian experience. Nevertheless the Malaysian model has formulated an elaborated and further sophisticated CSR public banking program. Meanwhile, the Egyptian model needs to adopt more global oriented CSR public banking policies, in particular to assure the sustainable development requirements.

Nowadays, sustainable growth and development are main economic policies for the countries all over the world. Decreasing natural resources, deepening environmental pollution and global warming problems are red alert of our planet. Every single country on the earth has the responsibility to protect our planet. So, increasing environmental awareness caused new tendencies in consumer behaviors. Countries aim not to pollute or harm the environment while improving their economic performance and life quality by green economy. Besides, by sustainable consumption, it is aimed to support personal sustainable development. In this context, sustainable consumption trends and the reflections of green economy applications in the world will be discussed in this chapter. In addition, developed countries and developing countries will be compared with each other through results of global ecological footprint.

<p>Since conventional energy resources are major source of CO<sub>2</sub> emission, over reliance on fossil fuels has raised questions on environmental sustainability. On way to address these multi-faceted issues of conventional energy sources, the sustainability of energy and environment is through the green economy approach. As such, this paper aims to discuss the concept of green economy in relation with renewable energy. The interdependence of green economy and environmental quality as well as the compatibility of green economy approach with the notion of sustainable development are demonstrated in the paper. Green economy approach fulfils the methodological gaps that exist in the growth models. It is believed that the best economic tool to attain sustainable development goals is by integrating social, economic and environmental elements. Furthermore, energy is believed to be a significant player in determining the greenness of the economy and sustainability as it has economic and environmental value. In addition, this study illustrates the significance of biomass energy resource and CO<sub>2</sub> emissions from fossil fuel combustion. The illustration framework justifies that biomass is the determinant renewable energy source to be a proxy for renewable energy resources. Similarly, it justifies that CO<sub>2</sub> emission of energy sector is considerably significant to represent the CO<sub>2</sub> emissions of the atmosphere.</p>

RESUMEN: La educación del siglo XXI se configura en el intento de formar las actitudes, valores y conocimientos de los ciudadanos de un mundo cada vez más cosmopolita. Se perfila como una actividad compleja, implicada en múltiples escenarios antes poco conocidos, cargada de preguntas con respuestas diversas, inciertas, ocupada en la construcción de un modelo humano y social inmerso en el fenómeno de la globalización, escasamente anclado en la necesidad de tomar conciencia de nuestras propias limitaciones.Establecer el debate en torno a esta idea, desde los argumentos que nos ofrecen las nuevas teorías de las necesidades humanas fundamentales, desde la perspectiva de las herramientas que, hoy, nos señalan cuáles son esos límites del crecimiento humano, y desde el señalamiento de algunos de esos nuevos escenarios educativos, es el objeto de este artículo.Son diversas las coordenadas desde las que podemos representarnos ese futuro, y cuatro de entre ellas merecen nuestra especial atención: los esfuerzos por educar para la toma de conciencia de los límites de la vida en el planeta; las reflexiones sobre los nuevos espacios sociales -reales y virtuales- de la educación; los escenarios educativos diversos que suponen los países desarrollados y los países en vías de desarrollo, centro y periferia del sistema; los enfoques renovados de la educación para la ciudadanía, y el debate actualmente establecido en torno al lugar de la educación entendida como servicio público o como bien de consumo.ABSTRACT: The education of the 21st century is formed in the attempt of forming the attitudes, values and knowledge of the citizens of a world increasingly cosmopolitan. It is outlined as a complex activity involved in multiple scenes before little known, loaded with questions and several uncertain answers and busy with the construction of a human and social model. This model is immersed in the phenomenon of the globalization, scantily anchored in the need to be aware of our own limitations.The aim of this article is to establish the debate concerning this idea with the arguments that offer us the new theories of the essential human needs, from the perspective of the tools which indicate us the limits of the human growth today, and from some of these new educational scenes.There are several coordinates to represent that future, and four of them deserve our special attention: the efforts to educate in order to become aware of the limits of the life in the planet; the reflections on the new social spaces -real and virtualof the education; the educational scenes of the developed countries and the developing countries, centre and periphery of the system; the renewed approaches of the education for the citizenship, and the debate established at present concerning the education, about whether it is a public service or a consumer good.SOMMAIRE: L'éducation du XXI siècle se déroule dans la tentative de former les attitudes, valeurs et connaissances des citoyens d'un monde de plus en plus cosmopolite. Elle se dessine comme une activité complexe, impliquée dans de multiples scénarios peu connus auparavant, chargée de questions avec des réponses diverses, incertaines, occupée dans la construction d'un modèle humain et social immergé dans le phénomène de la mondialisation, faiblement ancré dans le besoin de prendre conscience de nos propres limitations.L'objet de cet article est celui d'établir le débat autour de cette idée, à partir des arguments que nous offrent les nouvelles théories des besoins humains fondamentaux, à partir de la perspective des outils qui, aujourd'hui, nous indiquent quelles sont les limites de la croissance humaine, et à partir de la signalisation de certains de ces nouveaux scénarios éducatifs.Plusieurs sont les coordonnées à partir desquelles nous pouvons nous représenter ce futur, et quatre parmi elles méritent de notre part une attention spéciale: les efforts pour instruire pour la prise de conscience des limites de la vie dans la planète; les réflexions sur les nouveaux espaces sociaux -réels et virtuels- de l'éducation; les divers scénarios éducatifs que composent les pays développés et les pays en voie de développement, centre et périphérie du système; les nouvelles approches de l'éducation pour la citoyenneté, et le débat actuellement établi autour de l'éducation comprise comme service public ou comme bien de consommation.
