Due to the importance of role models in youth and media coverage of athletes, the aim of this research was to analyze the significance and characteristics of sports role models and the existence of gender patterns in elementary school students. Research sample consisted of 468 students aged 11-15. Sports role models were analyzed using a modified questionnaire of Adriansee & Crosswhite [2008]. Research results indicated that most respondents (80.8%) had role models. Role models belong to different domains with the highest proportion of famous athletes (31.5%) and family members (30.4%). Gender of the respondents was significantly correlated with selection of the role model, with sports role models being selected more often by males (49.2%) than by females (22.5%). Within the category of sports role models, famous athletes were highly predominant (88.1%), and most of them were males and foreign sports stars. Since adolescence is a period when future preferences for physical activities are developed, it is important to exploit all possible ways of supporting the youth to develop a healthy life style, where sports role models can have a significant influence.

This article aims to study the values contained in fasting education for elementary school students. The values of education are the value of religious education, the value of moral education, social education, and cultural education values. Fasting is a religious activity that people Islam as a form of obedience to His God in addition to other services. Ramadan fasting is a refrain from eating, drinking, and having sex and other things that make it clear that fasting will not rise from dawn until sunset during Ramadan. The current phenomenon is increasingly reduced worship activities, tepo seliro, gotong royong, mutual help, and attitudes other positive attitudes such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and tolerant living in life. Ramadan fasting not only emphasizes refraining from eating and drinking only, but training in improving faith, mental coaching, morality, and understanding the meaning of difference. In elementary school, these grades need to be instilled as a cornerstone of students in their development, especially in the aspects of personality such as: character, behavior, responsibility, discipline, and social spirit.

In the field of K-12 education, the demand for effective coding education is gradually expanding with various coding tools such as Scratch being popularly used as an effective learning environment. However, an answer to the question of what constitutes appropriate computing concepts for children (e.g. elementary school students) has not been fully answered. In this regard, this study worked to develop computational fairy tales (CFT) for coding beginners and applied it to the elementary school classroom environment in Korea. This CFT was developed by extracting the concepts of computer science through literature analysis, developing a plot/episode and creating a story. The final CFT developed is composed of 15 core computational concepts. 152 elementary students participated in the experiment where students read the CFT and solved related problems over two weeks period. We analyzed the effects of the CFT on the acquisition of basic computing concepts and coding attitudes. The results of the study showed that both the score of computing concept comprehension and attitude was enhanced significantly (p<.001). This study demonstrates the positive educational effects of CFTs in fostering understanding of basic computing concepts before students begin to code with algorithms directly.

In recent years we have applied mental skills training for child athletes, kindergarten and elementary school students, and children attempting to overcome serious illnesses. Key elements that have been associated with our most successful interventions include the use of simple, concrete strategies, an element of fun, positive individualized approaches, the use of role models, and involving parents. It is our belief that every child will experience growth, and some degree of success, if someone who cares devotes time to nurturing important mental skills related to personal development.

Knowledge about Garuda Pancasila as a symbol of the Republic of Indonesia is very necessary to be learned as early as possible. Various learning methods have been used in order to introduce the Garuda Pancasila to the community, especially elementary school students. But sometimes these methods make students feel bored quickly so they are not serious in carrying out the learning process. Therefore, we need media that can entertain and provide education to the students. By using 2D animation, it is expected that the learning process can be conveyed in a more fun and enjoyable way. For this reason, a 2D animation film was made as a learning medium to introduce the symbol of the country. The process of making this 2D animated film becomes more focused by using the Godfrey method. A method of testing in the form of a survey was conducted to elementary school students about messages conveyed in the 2D animated film. The results of the test proved that the film is an effective learning medium to convey the moral messages about the importance of knowing the symbol of the country and the values contained therein for children.
