The world health organization (WHO) announced that coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic. Considering the pandemic spread of Covid-19, many researchers have shown immense interest in various functional foods/nutraceuticals and dietary supplements to improve immune function and overall health status and thus lower the risk of COVID-19 infection. Studies have indicated that a balanced diet rich in various nutrients especially micronutrients plays a huge role in recovering and preventing COVID-19 related health issues. Improvement of obesity could reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection owing to the less angiotensin-conversion enzyme 2 receptors and increase the effect of vaccination. This review signifies the importance of various food bioactives along with dietary supplements (balanced diet) rich in various micronutrients against COVID-19 and its related anomalies. Moreover, this contribution helps non-specialists to understand the importance of various functional foods/nutraceuticals based on the dietary/supplementation recommendations indicated by various popular nutritional or dietary or health organizations. To sum up this contribution, healthy life style and balanced nutrition play important role on immune system. Reducing obesity becomes a critical point on the COVID-19 infection. The most important is to find the potential and effective food bioactives, which might act as supportive or complementary therapy (prophylactic) for mitigating the risk and comorbidity associated with COVID-19.

Introduction. Non-communicable diseases associated with diet are preventable and manageable with comprehensive pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment. However, in Tabasco, as in Mexico, and many countries, these diseases increase in prevalence, as well as the severity of their complications and increase the lability of patients to others such as covid-19, in a syndemic. This is why projects are needed to promote this comprehensive care. Methods. It is a descriptive, cross-sectional investigation for the elaboration of the strategic planning of a High Specialty Hospital oriented to non-communicable diseases. A diagnosis was made in a first stage from which a proposal was elaborated. Results. The diagnosis showed that medical graduates need to learn how to be leaders to accompany their patients to the achievement of treatment goals. A comprehensive care project was designed. It consists of services for the acceptance of the disease, education for a healthy lifestyle, learning for the selection of dishes and products for sustainability, supported by a collection of videos and podcasts prepared for this project, as well as follow-up to keep the patients and their families in the service. Indicators were developed according to results. Conclusions. The construction of a comprehensive management of patients to reduce progression, the number of patients and prevent secondary and tertiary organic damage, is a priority for the reconfiguration of services.   Keywords. Kutatásunk fókuszában a Balatont turisztikai céllal felkeresők állnak. Health and healthy life-style are gaining importance in today’s world, and eating habits, including local ingredients and products, are often in focus. Non-food and local (not mass-produced) products are also enjoying a ’renaissance’, with their low-volume items. All of these trends influence tourism around Lake Balaton: recent developments support the increased demand for local products – catering establishments, markets and festivals aim to meet the demands with authentic products, services and good quality souvenir items. Local products are an authentic representation of the destination, support sustainable production and consumption. At the same time, tourist experience includes ‘tangible’ factors. Our research focuses on the leisure travellers to Lake Balaton. The quantitative survey’s main objective is to map what kind of local products are bought and where do travellers buy them when visiting the lake and surroundings. Results show that three-quarters of the travellers buy 2-3 local products in various places (depending on the type of the product) during their trip to Lake Balaton. Mapping the places for buying local products (differentiating food and non-food items) may help in the selection of successful distribution channels in order to reach summer holiday tourists – who are still the dominant segment – during their vacation.
