Background: Individuals with aphasia experience speech, listening and writing disorders although they do not affect intelligence due to brain damage which contains language, usually on the left side of the left cerebral hemisphere. Aphasia cases can be handled by semantic divergent methods. Objective: This study aims to determine the treatment of adult aphasia patients who have impaired word discovery, compose sentences that sometimes express them not using the correct sentence structure, using the semantic divergent method. There were also some patients who experienced disturbances in the relationship between thought processes and language; the inability to turn thoughts into sentences. This study was conducted on a female patient with Global Aphasia Post Stroke aged 84 years at the Cibabat Regional General Hospital, Cimahi. Methods: The research method used is experimental case study research which aims to determine the condition of the subject before and after intervention or therapy. Data collection was carried out through the WOTS stage, namely interviews with the client's parents, direct observation of clients, conducting tests on clients, and study of patient medical record documents. Conclusion: The results showed that after 20 sessions of therapy, the ability to designate the patient's noun level increased where the initial test scored 0 points and the final test scored 8 points with a success percentage of 80% of the maximum 10 points get tested. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of total communication methods in global aphasia patients is successful.

In solving math problems, cognitive conflict can take many forms, for example: when students' expectations are proven wrong when solving a problem; and arise as a result of educators or other students expressing opposing opinions. The research aims to: 1) Describe student errors when solving math problems, and 2) To describe students' cognitive conflicts in solving mathematical problems. This research is a qualitative research with a case study research strategy. The subjects of this study were fourth semester students of mathematics tadris IAIN Tulungagung. The research instrument consisted of test questions and interview guidelines. Subjects were asked to work on problems individually and based on their work, then an interview was conducted to determine their thought processes and cognitive conflicts. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Student errors when solving math problems, especially integrals, include: students do not understand the use of the symmetry theorem, and the use of types of functions, 2) Cognitive conflicts that occur in mathematics tadris students of IAIN Tulungagung in solving math problems include; a) conflict between conception and conception. When the subject sees that the final result is not the same, the cognitive conflict situation experienced will encourage their cognitive ability to seek justification, confirmation or verification of their opinion. b) conflict between conception and outcome. The subject uses his conception by producing an area value that is not in accordance with his expectations, including area values that are negative and zero.

This article considers ways in which solidarity across social locations might play a role in fostering resistance to vulnerability. My case study consists of the interplay between writer George Ryga’s 1967 play The Ecstasy of Rita Joe, and Okanagan Syilx writer and scholar Jeannette Armstrong’s 1985 novel Slash. While these important and compelling texts have received considerable critical attention, the relationship between them is less known. I am interested in the ways in which these works both hail and offer critique to one another. In the contemporary moment, in which questions of appropriation of voice have gained renewed urgency within Indigenous literary circles in Canada and beyond, the relationship between these texts speaks to a historical instance of appropriation, but also of complicated processes of alliance-building. These texts demonstrate how agency resides across multiple locations. I read Ryga’s Ecstasy in the context of Jeannette Armstrong’s engagement with the play within her novel Slash in order to witness the ways in which Ryga’s text, in the first instance, appropriates Indigenous voices into an anti-capitalist critique. In the second instance, I read these works in order to witness how they might simultaneously provide a compelling analysis of the vulnerability of the people who are the subject of both works. I compare the interplay between Armstrong and Ryga’s texts to contemporary debates around appropriation in order to argue for the historical and ongoing importance of these two works as precursors to the crucial interventions made by contemporary Indigenous critics and writers.

The subject of this article is the problem of the antinomy of longevity and temporality in architecture. Excluding the so-called temporary structures, man designs and creates buildings with the assumption of their longevity. This presupposition is not undermined by architectural concepts, exposing functional and spatial solutions, opened to potential flexibility – variability. Also, ultra-modern designs of "self-adapting" architecture to the changing conditions of the context assume, indeed, the extension of its "vitality" – longevity. The aim of the research synthesis presented in the article is to specify the criteria which in shaping architecture make it possible to overcome the tension inherent in the antinomy of longevity and temporality. These analyzes, summarized with conclusions, were carried out in two complementary approaches: theoretical: based on the characteristics of the relationship between architecture and time, with particular emphasis on their exposure in the Christian sacred architecture; practical: based on the case study of the sequence of transformations of the church of St. Joseph Worker in Bytom over a period of approximately 100 years.

Few qualitative studies have explored the relationship between substance use and self-harm. We employed a multiple-case study research design to analyze data from 80 patients who were admitted to a hospital in South Africa following self-harm. Our analysis revealed, from the perspective of patients, a number of distinct ways in which substance use is implicated in self-harm. Some patients reported that substance intoxication resulted in poor decision making and impulsivity, which led to self-harm. Others said substance use facilitated their self-harm. Some participants detailed how in the past their chronic substance use had served an adaptive function helping them to cope with distress, but more recently, this coping mechanism had failed which precipitated their self-harm. Some participants reported that substance use by someone else triggered their self-harm. Findings suggest that there are multiple pathways and a host of variables which mediate the relationship between substance use and self-harm.

Research on the role of the APIP review of the Ministry/agency Work Plan and Budget document to determine the impact on the efficiency of ministry/agency spending (case study at the Ministry of Religion). The method used in this study uses simple linear regression with dummy. The use of linear regression is used to examine the relationship between independent variables (certain types of expenditure) and dependent variables (total expenditure). Whereas, dummy is used to find out before and after the APIP review is done. Throughout the author's search, this research has never been done. Based on the results of linear regression obtained, the APIP review significantly had a positive effect on official travel expenditure and honorarium but did not significantly affect building spending and equipment. Abstrak   Penelitian atas peran reviu APIP atas dokumen Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Kementerian Negara/Lembaga untuk mengetahui dampaknya terhadap efisiensi belanja kementerian/lembaga (studi kasus pada Kementerian Agama). Self-compassion, an adaptive self-attitude, is a resource that women athletes use during emotionally difficult times and as a way to reach their potential. The relationship between self-compassion and sport performance, however, is complex. The role and experience of self-compassion within perceived important competitive events are important to explore, as athletes face unique pressures and stressors in these meaningful sport experiences. This collective case study describes women athletes’ self-compassion, sport performance perceptions, and well-being around a self-identified important competitive event. Competitive women athletes (N = 9) participated in two one-on-one interviews, before and after their important competitive event. Results from the holistic, functional, and thematic analyses are represented by holistic case descriptions and an overarching theme, Continuing to Excel in Sport, and subthemes, Reframing Criticism and A Determined Approach. In important competitive events, women athletes utilize self-compassion to promote performance perceptions and well-being when preparing, competing, and reflecting to excel in sport.

This article draws on interviews and case study research on gender-IT relations to examine the relationship between gender identity and IT development activities. It explores the intertwining of gender and technological identity for women in office work contexts, a location where a boundary between the design and use of IT systems has long been recognised. It is important to explore identity construction within this framework of design and use as separate activities since women’s identity is constrained on both sides of this perceived boundary. The article first explores issues for women as IT professionals, then as users of IT-based work systems and lastly, it discusses the feasibility of constructing gender identities that encompass and recognise the technical work that both developers and users do.
