This paper is to examine the role academic libraries can play to organize and make indigenous knowledge accessible for national development. The target audience for the paper are academic librarians in Ghana, researchers of African studies in Ghana and other stakeholders. This is a qualitative study with data from interviews with the librarians and a desk-top literature review. Academic librarians in Ghana recognize the importance of indigenous knowledge organization, but little has been done by way of research. Most academic libraries in Ghana have the basic resources to manage indigenous knowledge. Academic librarians need to be proactive in their collaborative efforts to manage indigenous knowledge. Academic librarians in Ghana should be proactive towards effective management of indigenous knowledge, for easy accessibility. Again, academic libraries need to be well resourced to manage indigenous knowledge. Finally, academic libraries need to create awareness about the importance of indigenous knowledge using different media platforms to all stakeholders.

The article is a review of the main theoretical discussions of the international scientific conference on history didactics, which was organized at the University of Graz (Austria) at the end of 2020. The results of the conference indicate the presence of transformational processes taking place in history didactics. This is true both in relation to its basic concepts (historical consciousness, historical thinking, historical culture) and the methods of teaching history. The main trends of this transformation can be called the central role of issues of intercultural dialogue and cognition in history lessons, the comprehensive use of the digital environment in teaching history, the migration focus of history education and the widespread dissemination of ethical issues, the history of everyday life in history lessons. It was noted that this aspects are correlated with the development trends of modern memory studies, which gives hope for further correlation and mutual enrichment of the two discourses.

The Young Scholars Conference at the Institute of Slavic Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, has been held since 2014. In 2020, the organisers had to change the previous timing of the event –it had previously been timed to correspond with the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture (May 24th), but for the first time it was not held in May but in October. The format of the Conference was also changed: the participants made their presentations remotely on the ZOOM platform. As usual, there were three broad topic areas: “History”, “Linguistics”, and “Literary Studies. The History of Culture”. The wide geographical coverage of the participants should be mentioned. This year, young scholars from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Rostov-on-don, Chisinau (Moldova), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Macerata (Italy), and Minsk (Belarus) presented their research. Historians discussed many issues, including the problems of governance and modernisation in multinational states, memory policy in Slavic countries, and the role of parties and public organisations in overcoming crises. The section “Literary Studies. The History of Culture” focused on the reception and translation of works in Slavic languages and the problems of poetics in literature and cinema. Linguists paid attention to issues surrounding the grammar of modern Slavic languages, dialectology, and paleoslavistics. Moderators’ comments made the Conference, as usual, a kind of “school” for the young researchers. The conference proceedings have been published.

In the context of Dmitry Alexandrovich Prigov’s audacious “lifelong” project, an encyclopedic perspective can be traced quite clearly through various approaches, languages and methodologies throughout the artist’s creative career. Prigov’s Bestiaries not only deviate from the traditional path of encyclopedic genealogy; they are the prototype of later, more pronounced taxonomic projects, and even act as a reference to what he called his “lifelong project”. Our task is to show how the Bestiaries series is not only a study of the Russian cultural space, but is also the very concept of Prigov’s anthropology from the beginning of the history of culture to the present day in a post-Soviet and even post-human perspective, thus asserting itself as a proto-encyclopedia of his New Anthropology. In the process of researching, methods such as theoretical, general philosophical analyses (systemic method, analysis, analogy, synthesis) were used, including the analysis of texts, interviews and artistic production of Prigov. The sociological methods are also taken as the basis for drawing conclusions and the main approach moves from a semiotic and poststructuralist point of view, especially the theory of culture of Yuri Lotman, the philosophy of Giorgio Agamben and George Bataille. Thus, we have outlined the importance of the Bestaries in presenting the theory of cultural evolution of Dmitry Prigov and his “new anthropology”, referring to this series on the role of the visual conclusion of his new anthropological system

<b><i>Introduction:</i></b> The prevalence of frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) is increasing worldwide, though the pathogenesis remains unknown. Anecdotal reports describe alopecia occurring in an FFA pattern following facial surgical procedures, but this potential link remains unexplored. <b><i>Objective:</i></b> The objective of this study is to determine if a significant association exists between the diagnosis of FFA and a history of facial and scalp surgical procedures. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> This retrospective study comparing data from frontal alopecia patients to controls was conducted at a tertiary medical center. Additionally, a literature review was conducted on scarring alopecias occurring from scalp procedures. <b><i>Results:</i></b> Fifty percent of frontal alopecia patients (<i>n</i> = 54) reported a history of facial surgical procedures compared to 9.8% of controls (<i>n</i> = 51) (OR: 7.8 [95% CI: 2.77–25.98, <i>p</i> &#x3c; 0.001]). Although no significant differences were observed in current daily facial sunscreen use, sunscreen use prior to alopecia onset was significantly higher in frontal alopecia (<i>p</i> = 0.295; <i>p</i> = 0.021). Sunscreen use was not a significant modifier in the association between frontal alopecia and facial surgical procedures (<i>p</i> = 0.89). <b><i>Conclusions:</i></b> A significant association exists between frontal alopecia clinically consistent with FFA and a history of facial surgery, the nature of which is unclear. The role of sunscreen use and frontal alopecia development in this setting needs to be better elucidated.

One of the features of modern socio-philosophical knowledge is its involvement in the solution of ethi-cal problems in new conditions, determined by the consequences of the “information explosion”, digi-talization, the massive introduction of digital tech-nologies in the humanitarian spheres. One of the key problems is understanding the role of the so-called “machine ethics”, ie. a set of theoretical ap-proaches to hypothetical problems of the moral be-havior of machines in the framework of artificial in-telligence. The paper expounds the point of view according to which ethics, over the centuries of the formation of various philosophical systems, has developed many mechanisms of its own algorithmi-cization, which opens up wide opportunities for the formation of “computational morality”, up to the appearance of artificial moral agents (AMA). The paper briefly examines the history of the formaliza-tion of ethical problems and solutions. The key at-tempts of algorithmicization of ethical issues in the history of philosophy are identified, the socio-philosophical component of such a phenomenon as the “ethical calculator” is characterized.
