Implementing Eco-Innovation by Utilizing the Internet to Enhance Firm's Marketing Performance

The aim of this study is to explore a proposition of eco-innovation internet-based approach to bridge the gap between market orientation and marketing performance of the batik SMEs in Indonesia. Batik is an Indonesian art of waxed hand painting on the textile by utilizing of natural dyes. The 250 questionnaires were distributed among the SMEs actors; however, 189 out of 250 questionnaires were valid to be further processed. This research has provided some empirical evidence that the approach of e-eco-innovation has a significant impact on marketing performance. Furthermore, market orientation also has a significant impact on both marketing performance and e-eco-innovation. Therefore, the adoption of ICT (Internet & Communication Technology) and eco-innovation may contribute not only to the body of knowledge of green marketing but also for the practice of green marketing amongst SMEs in developing countries.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has undergone rapid change in the last decade and it is now readily accessible within many communities. This change has resulted in a revolution in the healthcare sector as technology has steadily empowered the health consumer. However, the problem of the digital divide remains and may be widening with the growth of technology. This chapter will examine how developing countries have overcome this problem by using varying communication techniques to share health information. The chapter also suggests how mobile phones can provide a more accessible conduit for sharing health information in developing countries as opposed to the Internet alone. These changes need to be embraced in order to provide a framework that will allow ICT to narrow, rather than widen the gap between the information poor and the information rich.

With the emergence of Web 2.0, new online trends and technologies will continually emerge and play an increasingly important role in the way businesses operate. As Web 2.0 has revolutionised the internet by shifting from a published web to a user centric, user-generated web, businesses needed to understand how to change and adapt in order to benefit from these changes. This paper analyses organisations across a variety of industries, in order to determine how Web 2.0 is influencing the way companies conduct business – how they benefit, and what the advantages and disadvantages are. The authors will try to determine whether the traditional business models are changing or simply evolving through the utilisation of Web 2.0 technologies. This research contributes to the body of knowledge regarding the use of social media in commercial organisations.

The concept of smart cities has become a buzzword in most developing countries. Most professionals within developing countries are quick to adopt this idea in their every day discuss on developing the state of their nation, without actually considering what this concept means to the average individual on the streets. Even lesser consideration is given to the readiness of these developing nations in terms of adopting the concept of smart cities. It is based on this notion that this study, through the review of existing studies, assessed the readiness of cities in Nigeria in adopting the concepts needed for achieving smart cities. The study gives an insight on the challenges impeding the attainment of city smartness in the country. It was observed that solving the problems caused by rapid urbanization within cities is the first step towards making these cities "smart ready". Therefore, if cities in Nigeria are to attain city smartness, first looking inward and solving the endemic problems within these countries is necessary before adopting concepts of smart cities that have been mastered in developed countries. Although the submissions of this paper form part of a much larger ongoing study, it contributes to the body of knowledge as it brings to light the challenges that must be solved if cities in Nigeria are to ever become smart.

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational justice (OJ) on job performance (JP) intention via the mediating influence of high-performance human resource practices (HPHRPs) in a developing context. Equity theory and expectancy theory are widely employed in many disciplines but seldom applied to JP among Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL)  employees. The respondents in this study were 377 employees working in PTCL. Partial least square (PLS), specifically ̣ structural equation modeling was used for the data analysis. The study found a significant direct and indirect influence of distributive justice (DJ) on JP through the partial mediating role of selective staffing (SS) and extensive training (ET). Procedural justice (PJ) also, directly and indirectly, influenced JP through the partial mediating role of the incentive reward (IR). While interactional Justice (IJ), result-oriented appraisal (ROA), employment security (ES) had an insignificant influence on JP. OJ has to be synergized with HPHRPs to enhance JP. The results of this study would also augment the body of knowledge of JP in developed and under-developing countries. OJ has to be synergized with HPHRPs to enhance JP. Various issues relating to Islamic contemporary education are presented interestingly to contribute to the body of knowledge and practices. Academia and practitioners in Islamic education studies may gain insight from reading these articles. IJCIED is dedicated by Postgraduate studies of Institut Agama Islam Negeri Palu for all academia across the globe. In next issue, we expect writers and researchers over the entire world within Islamic education studies area can contribute to IJCIED. The journal is a free access journal and we do not charge any publication fees. We expect this journal can contribute to the development of practical and theoretical knowledge within Islamic education studies. This research aims to construct a model of network synergy capacity in order to fill the research gap between trust-developing capability and marketing performance. This research model involves a number of other important supporting variables such as competitive position strengthening and excellent service commitment to improve marketing performance. At the beginning, 320 companies which distribute industrial products in Indonesia were contacted for the study using a purposive sampling technique. To achieve normality of data distribution, it was 263 respondent selected to be processed using AMOS. Our research indicated that the level of goodness of fit for the model meets all the necessary conditions and all the hypotheses proposed are supported. Even though network synergy capacity, in some pathways, has terminal role for increasing marketing performance but it is not as important as function of other variables, competitive position strengthening and excellent service commitment. Network synergy capacity as the novelty of this study contributed towards enhancing the body of knowledge of the network theory.Keywords: Network Synergy Capacity; Trust-developing Capability; Competitive Position Strengthening; ExcellentService Commitment; Marketing Performance.

<p>The need of dedicated educational curricula in the field of space technologies and their applications was identified as a gap in the official European offer already in 2013 when the Virtual GMES Academy concept was launched with the Salzburg protocol in the framework of EU4Regions project. Since then, the goal to fill this educational gap (no official academic courses are presently offered covering all the aspects of Space Technologies from the mission design up to the applications developments) has been included, as a pillar, in the European Copernicus-uptake strategy, After the start of the European network of Copernicus Academies, the EO4GEO project took the initiative to design the Body of Knowledge (BoK) to be at the base of new specific educational curricula and well identified skills in the field. <br>The present status of development of Bok, its relevance even for non-EU and particularly for developing countries, is here discussed and presented. </p>

The main purpose of this paper is to propose solutions for overcoming the obstacles that healthcare organizations might face when implementing lean. An in-depth review of existing barriers for lean implementation in healthcare supply chain is presented and validated by experts. Although there is a widespread use of lean concepts in developed countries, little attention has been paid to implementing a lean approach by healthcare providers in developing countries. The present study’s key novelty and contribution is related to this research gap. The study is thus focused in proposing solutions for healthcare organisations in developing countries, especially in Saudi Arabia. The efficacy of these solutions is assessed through experts’ opinion. The paper enhances the body of knowledge for the successful implementation of lean in a hospital setting.

The phenomenal growth of information and communication technology (ICT) especially the Internet has affected youths in developed and developing countries alike. Although progressing at a slower rate in developing countries than in any other parts of the world, Internet connectivity is also transforming the face of Africa. This paper presents a study that examines what Nigerian youths use Internet for and which of the Internet use has adverse effect on the youth's social life. It reveals that majority of youths use Internet for e-mail, making use of Yahoo followed by Hotmail, and the study also reveals that over 50% of youths interviewed visit pornographic sites.
