Ubiquitous computing is an advanced technology in the age of wireless networks that supports infiltration, activation and interconnectability of all the electronic and sensor-based objects related to everyday issues, and in this manner endeavours to empower a ubiquitous stream of information and data by coordinating learning and training. Ubiquitous computing is the method of enhancing computer-based computations by making use of many computers available throughout the physical environment, but making them effectively invisible to the user. The advanced technology of science and networks is instinctively welcoming the introduction of this revolutionary computing concept that guarantees to profoundly affect the way the authors associate with computing machineries, electronic gadgets, mobile devices, cyber spaces, and related peripherals. This new emerging technology of ubiquitous computing imagines a world where inserted processors, PCs, sensors, and advanced correspondences are reasonable products that are accessible at any time. Ubiquitous computing will encompass clients with an agreeable and helpful data condition that unites physical and computational foundations into incorporated natural surroundings. This living space will include an expansion of hundreds or thousands of computing gadgets and sensors that will give new usefulness, offer specific administrations, and lift efficiency and cooperation. The current research article projects technical and operational utility of ubiquitous devices with challenging issues in emerging ubiquitous computing.

Future mobile and embedded systems will be smarter and more user-friendly. They will perceive the physical environment, understand human context, and interact with end-users in a human-like fashion. Daily objects will be capable of leveraging sensor data to perform complex estimation and recognition tasks, such as recognizing visual inputs, understanding voice commands, tracking objects, and interpreting human actions. This raises important research questions on how to endow low-end embedded and mobile devices with the appearance of intelligence despite their resource limitations.

The evolution of mobile devices and the development of high speed wireless networks have supported a widespread use of these devices with increasingly more complex applications. This reality has fostered the research in the field of information visualization in mobile devices. However, the limited screen space, resource constraints and interaction restrictions impose difficulties to developers and users of these applications. An approach to address these problems is to adapt the visualization to the user context. However, these proposals are normally designed in an ad-hoc fashion and are difficult to generalize. In addition, existing solutions are focused only in some subset of possible characteristics of the user context or only address a very specific domain and related adaptations. The objective of this paper is to present the design of a framework for adaptive mobile visualization (AMV) applications, denominated Chameleon, and the development and evaluation of prototypes that use this conceptual-based framework.

This review examined whether the physical environment can change the cognitive function of the elderly and categorized the specific environmental types. Four databases, CINAHL, Embase, PubMed, and PsycINFO, were searched for relevant literature published as of December 2020. The framework used was proposed by Arksey and O’Malley, which includes a 5-stage review process. A total of 12 studies were examined. The physical environments with similar characteristics, among all the environmental elements, were grouped together into 4 categories: residential density and road connectivity, limited living space, urban/rural, and care facilities. Residential density and road connectivity, limited living space, and care facilities were found to have a significant effect on the cognitive function of the elderly. However, there was no significant effect on the cognitive function of the elderly when comparing the urban and rural environments. Although studies on environments that affect the cognitive function of the elderly are still ongoing, the ones analyzing specific environments in detail are insufficient. With the increasing importance of the role played by the environment in the cognitive impairment of the elderly, detailed studies on specific environments among the various environmental factors surrounding the elderly, such as this study, should be conducted more actively.

A decisive economical factor in the business transformation project (BTP) of a traditional business environment (BE) into an automated business environment, is the profile of the business transformation manager (BTM), who should be supported by a framework (Trad, & Kalpić, 2001; ). The BTM's profile and its relation to enterprise business architecture skills, have an ultimate impact on the concrete implementation phase of business transformation and related enterprise architecture projects. The basic profile and managerial aspects of BTM profiles and its support, have not been sufficiently researched, to hammer an optimal profile and a corresponding supporting framework that is why this research article proposes the related BTP's managerial recommendations and conclusions. This research paper and the related research publications series deals with the BTP's support for the BTM's selection, architecture support, decision making and training requirements; where the BTM, has to manage the complex technical implementation phase of the BTPs; knowing that this phase of a BTP is the major cause of very high failure rates.

In recent decades, vendors developed technology infrastructure solutions to integrate with enterprises and consumers' mobile devices. Hybrid development platforms are solution architecture designed to enhance developers' capabilities and provide organizations as well as customers the level of services to support mobile devices capabilities. Hybrid development platform solutions are easy to deploy at various enterprises. These capabilities can be distributed to/or integrated with mobile devices as agile applications and system interfaces. Hybrid mobile devices are designed to further provide users with enhanced technology solutions: cloud computing, big data, the Internet, physical and/or virtual network systems. The development of hybrid mobile platforms provides developers with advanced technology capabilities, necessary for supporting mobile devices once deployed to the marketplace. Technical and security features affecting the development and security of mobile devices are also discussed in this chapter.

Widespread availability and affordability of devices and easy accessibility of internet has accelerated the pace of ubiquitous computing. Connectivity to the internet has resulted in an exponential growth in terms of content and traffic available on the internet. When the barriers such as type of devices, location, time, and format have become meaningless in the era of ubiquitous computing; the issue of energy consumption and resultant carbon emission is a matter of concern. Energy consumption is an issue in ubiquitous computing, as the majority of the devices involved will be mobile devices that depend on the limited power offered by the battery inside the device. Carbon emission is a concern due to the combined impact made by the devices hooked over to the internet. This chapter discusses the issues related to energy consumption for various activities when the services offered by the internet are availed. The chapter also discusses the challenges to be overcome to achieve conservation of energy consumed by the internet and devices.
