With the emergence of COBIT in 1996, organizations were introduced to a framework that aimed to combine the best practices and provide essential guidelines for the successful business development along with the growth of competitiveness of the organization. Today, COBIT 5 has been adopted by numerous organizations as the primary business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT. This article explores the evolution of the framework since its genesis to the present. The authors perform a systematic literature review taking into account a total of 93 publications that relate to various aspects of COBIT. The research papers have been categorized on the basis of their scope and on their nature (empirical, conceptual or descriptive). The data collected from these publications are analyzed to identify various trends- commonalities, differences, themes, and the nature of the study. This article also provides an overview in terms of the need of COBIT, the strengths and weaknesses of each version of the framework and how each version addresses the shortcomings of its predecessors. The research article also comprehensively discusses the state of art version of the framework COBIT 5. Further, they present a detailed analysis of how this framework is currently leveraged by organizations to identify and mitigate IT and organizational risk through better governance. In conclusion, this article also discusses the issues faced by the enterprises in its implementation today and scope of future research.

Purpose This paper aims to review the healthcare supply chain (HSC) literature along various areas and to find out the gap in it. Design/methodology/approach In total, 143 research papers were reviewed during 1996-2017. A critical review was carried out in various dimensions such as research methodologies/data collection method (empirical, case study and literature review) and inquiry mode of research methodology (qualitative, quantitative and mixed), country-specific, targeted area, research aim and year of publication. Findings Supply chain (SC) operations, performance measurement, inventory management, lean and agile operation, and use of information technology were well studied and analyzed, however, employee and customer training, tracking and visibility of medicines, cold chain management, human resource practices, risk management and waste management are felt to be important areas but not much attention were made in this direction. Research limitations/implications Mainly drug and vaccine SC were considered in current study of HSC while SC along healthcare equipment and machine, hospitality and drug manufacturing related papers were excluded in this study. Practical implications This literature review has recognized and analyzed various issues relevant to HSC and shows the direction for future research to develop an efficient and effective HSC. Originality/value The insight of various aspects of HSC was explored in general for better and deeper understanding of it for designing of an efficient and competent HSC. The outcomes of the study may form a basis to decide direction of future research.

Governments at all levels have a mandate to provide services, protect society, and make the economy prosper. While this is a long-term goal, citizens are now expecting greater and faster delivery of services from government. This paper presents a systematic literature review of service digitization carried out by the governments of several countries, which was motivated by the lack of primary studies in the literature related to the identification of the processes and methodologies adopted by these governments and private companies to provide their services to the citizen. This work also contributes to the identification of best practices, technologies and tools used for the provision and evaluation of digitized services provided and how governments are evaluating the gains from digitization. These results of this systematic literature review serve as inputs to guide current and future research of the Brazilian Government in the construction of a digital platform for the provision of its services directed to the citizen, seeking to analyze their needs and improving the services currently provided.

This paper aims to explore the importance of COBIT 5 as a framework, in ensuring the effective “Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (GEIT)”, and to promote the understanding of the five COBIT 5 principles. A comprehensive literature review has also been performed taking into account a total of 56 research papers published in the last decade on COBIT. The data collected from these research papers was analyzed in order to identify various trends- commonalities, differences, themes, and the nature of study. The research papers have been categorized first on basis of their scope and secondly on their nature (empirical, conceptual or descriptive). Towards the end of the paper, we have provided an overview of our findings on the strengths and weaknesses of the research papers studied, and have made suggestions for future research.

Abstract Startup assistance organizations, and especially business accelerators have gained a lot of traction in the last years, captioning not only the attention of the public, but most importantly that of investors and other stakeholders. It has become a challenge for many all around the world to develop such programs, but many have failed or did not have their expected results, meaning medium to long-term sustainable and profitable alumni start-ups. As high amounts of resources, both human and financial, are being invested in the design and development of such programs, it is important to understand what sets apart the successful business acceleration programs from the ones that fail. The current paper is reviewing the up-to-date theoretical literature and studies on the matter at hand, in order to identify the most relevant factors influencing startup assistance organizations’ performance. The objective behind identifying these factors is to get a better understanding of best practices of such successful programs and set the basis for future research regarding the development of a set of metrics for more accurately measuring their performance.

This literature review examines the multiple barriers to non-visual access to print by people who are blind. An in-depth consideration of existing research on specific issues related to screen readers and refreshable braille displays is provided. These barriers include the complexities involved in the conversion of print to alternate media (tactual and auditory), assistive technology instruction and readiness of teachers of students with visual impairments, lack of research on best practices for instruction, and a variety of issues related to technological constraints in the areas of accessibility, usability, and user experience. Recommendations for practice and future research in the areas of screen readers and refreshable braille displays are included.

The major dilemma of marketing professionals is to justify the investment or expenditure on activities related to consumer engagement. Antecedents of consumer engagement are deeply rooted in the unique and specific differences that countries and/or regions present in terms of their social, legal, economic, political, and technological dimensions. Antecedents must be different for consumers from country a, region 1 than country b, region 2. There cannot be a commonality of antecedents for the 196 countries in the world. This research is among the first steps to make it possible. First, this research performed rigorous systematic literature review to consolidate all antecedents of consumer engagement acknowledged in previous quality research papers. Second, a systematic endeavour to generalize the antecedents of consumer engagement that fits all situation and context. The third contribution is the future research agenda of consumer engagement that is yet to be explored. For this purpose, strict inclusion and exclusion criteria implemented. Among hundreds of articles, a total 42 articles were selected, which fulfilled the criteria. Strict criteria were necessary to improve the quality of work. The study compiled all the antecedents in a table and concluded some highly ranked and high-frequency antecedents. A total of 22 antecedents were concluded among which, the study has discussed the topmost highly relevant yet most essential antecedents of consumer engagement. This study generalized the antecedents under broader terms. These top antecedents which are most essential are social, value, identity, interaction, involvement, experience, satisfaction, information, attachment, and participation. In the analysis part, all top antecedents discussed along with future research directions. Keywords: Consumer Engagement, Customer Engagement, Systematic Literature Review, SLR.

This paper presents a survey of the state of the art of microwave (MW) treatment of wood, informed by both past and recent research papers. It begins by introducing the main concepts regarding MW technology and its advantages, presenting a holistic perspective of this technology, and identifying 57 research papers published over the last 25 years. Next, an extensive literature review of the most significant experimental research papers is provided, divided into two MW heating treatment uses: wood drying and permeability improvement. For each study, the wood species, MW parameters, main objectives, and overall conclusions are provided. In this context, an explanation is given on how parameters such as MW power, frequency, intensity, and exposure time, as well as initial moisture content, influence the degree of wood modification. Next, a global overview of the most used wood species, genera, and dimensions is revealed. The paper concludes by indicating the potential fields of future research studies concerning the uses and applications of MW treatment technology.
