This paper presents some aspects of the ‘communication’ processes within a Systemic Disaster Management System (SDMS) model. Information and communication technology (ICT) plays a key part in managing natural disasters. However, it has been contended that ICT should not be used in ‘isolation’ but it should be seen as ‘part’ of the ‘whole’ system for managing disaster risk. Further research is needed in order to illustrate the full application of the ICT within the context of the developed model.

Disasters pose a real threat to the lives and property of citizens; therefore, it is necessary to reduce their impact to the minimum possible. In order to achieve this goal, a framework for enhancing the current disaster management system was proposed, called the smart disaster management system. The smart aspect of this system is due to the application of the principles of information and communication technology, especially the Internet of Things. All participants and activities of the proposed system were clarified by preparing a conceptual design by using The Unified Modeling Language diagrams. This effort was made to overcome the lack of citizens’ readiness towards the use of information and communication technology as well as increase their readiness towards disasters. This study aims to develop conceptual design that can facilitate in development of smart management system for flooding disaster. This will assist in the design process of the Internet of Things systems in this regard.

Ecotourism is the combination of ecosystem and tourism. Ecosystem tourism includes travel to destinations where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. Present study wants to establish the link between knowledge sharing, information and communication technology (ICT) and ecotourism performance with mediation of tourist attraction and digital management system among employees of ecotourism provider companies in Ranong province of Thailand. Data is collected through questionnaire survey method and via dropdown technique. Partial Least Square (PLS) is used in this study for data analysis. Results indicate that knowledge sharing related to ecotourism and ICT has positive significant impact on ecotourism performance and on tourist attraction and digital management system respectively. Tourist attraction has positive significant impact on ecotourism performance but not mediate the relation. Digital management system mediates the relation and also has the positive significant impact on ecotourism performance. Practitioners should focus on knowledge sharing variable, ICT and digital management system for increasing the ecotourism performance among ecotourism provider companies in Ranong province of Thailand.

Market performance is important to the company's development. This study examines the determinant factors of market performance through information and communication technology (ICT). The probability and simple random sampling methods were used to determine the sample. Furthermore, the research instrument was the questionnaire distributed personally to the respondents. The results show that the market performance of used car showroom MSMEs in the Malang was determined both directly and indirectly by information quality, eReadiness, use of ICTs, and market orientation, which is more dominant. The use of ICTs and market orientation fully and partially mediates the information quality and eReadiness on market performance, respectively.

This overview approaches information and communication technology (ICT) for competitive intelligence from the perspective of strategy formulation. It provides an ICT architecture for supporting the knowledge processes producing relevant knowledge for strategy formulation. To determine what this architecture looks like, we first examine the process of strategy formulation and determine the knowledge required in the process of strategy formulation. To this purpose, we use Beer’s viable system model (VSM). Second, we model the knowledge processes in which the intelligence relevant for the process of strategy formulation is produced and processed. Given these two elements, we describe an ICT architecture supporting the knowledge processes producing the knowledge needed for the strategic process.

Digital libraries have become a modern day phenomenon. Their roles in information generation, organization, dissemination and storage cannot be overemphasized. This chapter articulates the importance of digital libraries and the need to preserve them from disasters. It highlights the causes and effects of disasters in digital libraries. Prevention and management of disasters were also discussed. Issues and challenges around information and communication technology (ICT), that has direct bearings on digital libraries and disaster management in developing countries were raised. In addition, recommendations were made on how to improve on disaster prevention and control.

There are some of students feel afraid to participate in learning, because there are some discussion or theme of learning is a problem that occurs in students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang Now this with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) learning process can be done through electronic media called e-learning. One way to use the right learning media so that students are more active to play a role in the learning process. As a medium that will be used by students and teachers then built Learning Management System with uses Analytic Network Process (ANP) method. Keywords: E-learning, ANP method

This study looks at students' readiness for teaching and learning (T&L) of new norms in the Department of Information and Communication Technology (JTMK), Polytechnic Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (PSMZA). The purpose of this study is to identify the level of readiness of students' acceptance of the T & L of this new norm and the existing facilities that influence the implementation of T&L’s new norm. This study uses a quantitative method involving a sample of study consisting of 81 students from semester 3 and 4 JTMK, PSMZA, and uses a questionnaire as a research instrument. All data collected were analysed with Statistical Package Social Science 20 (SPSS 20) software. The data obtained are analysed and presented in the form of percentages and mean scores which will then be interpreted in tabular form. Overall, the results of the study show that the level of readiness of students' acceptance of the T&L of the new norm is at a moderate level. However, the availability of existing facilities that influence the implementation of learning in the new norm shows a high level.

Information and Communication Technology is now becoming an essential part of everyday life of most people in the world. This paper analysed the main functionalities and tools available in the Moodle platform and their use through lecturer’s perspectives at English Department of IAIN Palangka Raya. This study belongs to descriptive qualitative research. In the present study, teachers are expected to implement the Moodle platform of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in EFL classes, and make the Moodle platform of ICT becoming a complement to conventional teaching in EFL classrooms, especially when developing listening, reading and writing skills in English. The results showed that the Moodle platform contains some of the main tools of the standard Moodle platform like assignments, chats, forums, news and quiz/survey. The most the students purposes of the use of the Moodle platform were ‘download materials’, ‘news’ and ‘deliver assignments’, and the most used information materials are ‘texts’ and ‘slides’.
