The construction industry in China has undergone continuous development over the past decades. In relation to this, the quality of the outdoor environment in China has received increased research attention. This paper takes the Tahiti Villas located in Kunming District as a case study, using post-occupancy evaluation to identify and evaluate the main factors affecting the activities of the residents. The results indicate that humanistic design is mainly reflected in the concern for the user exhibited by the design. Thus, giving users primary importance can satisfy the design goals of rational expression.

The analysis of the dynamics of the number of moose, bear, and wolf in the territory of the Kemerovo region (Kuzbass) over the past 70 years is presented. The maximum number of moose reached in 1976-1979 (7000 individuals), the minimum - in 1994 (1850 individuals). Currently, the number of moose in the Kemerovo Region has exceeded 5.0 thousand individuals with an upward trend. The number of bears in the Kemerovo region throughout the study period is continuously increasing from 300-400 individuals in the early 1960s up to 3.0-3.1 thousand in 2017-2019. The wolf on the territory of Kuzbass is under severe anthropogenic pressure. The maximum number of wolves of 400-450 animals was observed in 1994-1996. At present, this predator is almost exterminated. Only 2-7 animals from neighboring regions are periodically noticed in winter. The main factors affecting the moose abundance are analyzed: hunting, predation of a wolf and a bear, and the quality of work of State Hunting Surveillance bodies. The number of moose, wolf and bear in Kemerovo Region depends mainly on hunting activities. A reliable negative correlation of the moose with the number of bears and wolves is detected only in some intervals when it is imposed on a negative anthropogenic impact.

In this article we are investigating the computers development process in the past decades in order to identify the factors that influence it the most. We describe such factors and use them to predict the direction of further development. To solve these problems, we use the concept of the Computer Capacity, which allows us to estimate the performance of computers theoretically, relying only on the description of its architecture.

Quality management is considered one of the most important obstacles facing the construction industry in Sudan. The application of a quality assessment system contributes to the development of quality in projects as it is possible to measure the quality in projects. This paper aims to introduce one of the quality assessment systems, which is the system followed and applied in the Singapore (CONQUAS). This system assesses quality based on structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical work. The paper also aims to study the factors affecting the application of the quality assessment system in Sudan. The study is carried out in the region of Khartoum. The study is focusing on the construction projects. The study is carried out by questionnaires and other literature review. The respondents are consultants and contractors. The data has been distributed and analyzed by using the Average Index. From the study it was found that CONQUAS standard is assessed the building based on workmanship standards by the assessors from the BCA on site using standard score sheets. The assessment is done throughout the construction process for structural, mechanical and electrical works, and from questionnaire results the main factors affect construction industry in Sudan is lack of standardization in Sudan. The author recommended that more study shall be conducted to identify factors affecting quality in Sudanese construction industry and how to improve the quality.

The low performance of The Trends of Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) results were investigated in depth through interviews with math and science supervisors from the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. A qualitative approach was employed to consider the factors that may affect TIMSS results in the past and understand the reasons of TIMSS results. The outcome of this study was limited to the perspectives of science and math supervisors who participated or worked in the TIMSS study. Their participation in TIMSS was positive even if the results of the study were not because it helped initiate reform in curriculum, assessment, and quality of teaching. However, the participants expressed concerns and variables that need to be aware of in order to perform better not only in TIMSS but also in science and math education in general.

As noted by a number of experts in the field of the quality of construction of capital construction objects, at present there are no industry-specific methods for assessing the quality of construction and installation works in construction. The quality assessment and acceptance of capital construction objects is carried out according to the criterion of compliance with the requirements established in the project documentation, the working documentation prepared on its basis and the requirements established in the regulatory documents. It should be noted that the more complex the object, the larger the construction volume, the longer the construction period of the object and the harder it is to achieve full compliance of the object with the established requirements due to the lack of a methodology for choosing organizational decisions, as well as changing regulatory requirements, technological variability, errors. The current situation necessitated the development of an assessment model and the adoption of organizational decisions to ensure the quality of construction. This article highlights and discusses the main factors affecting the quality of organizational decisions. A system for assessing the level of quality assurance of construction is proposed, taking into account the quality of organizational decisions and the main factors cited.

Ropeways usually provide access to locations inaccessible to other means of transport. Due to this fact, the construction of ropeways is extraordinarily taxing in terms of both, technology and logistics. The site location is often in terrain difficult to access, which often precludes deployment of common construction mechanisms in ropeway construction. In such case, it is advisable to deploy a transport mechanism independent of the terrain – a helicopter. Functioning as “flying cranes“, the helicopters have been used in construction industry in Slovakia for six decades now. Having amassed positive experience, even the “conventional“ construction industry of the time, especially its ropeway transport segment, started to use the benefits of helicopters, with helicopter deployment subsequently gaining ground and becoming the mainstream technological procedure. Ropeway construction can hardly be feasible without them even nowadays. Throughout the history of helicopter deployment in construction industry, a constant search of improving the efficiency of their work has been under way, necessitated by the helicopter’s sensitivitiy to weather conditions and work procedures alike. The paper presents an analysis of the factors affecting helicopter operation together with a proposed methodology of modeling their work in simulation models and the benefits of such approach.

Aims: This article aims to analyze the main factors that influence the performance of the governance of Producers' Organizations in the context of the Uniform Act of OHADA devoted to the Law on cooperative societies. Study Design: The case study is based on Village Cotton Producers Cooperatives (CVPCs). Governance performance of CVPCs referred to and has been measured through respectively quality of internal governance (administrative) and quality of services provided to members. Place and Duration of Study: The study has been carried out in the Department of Alibori, northern Benin Republic. Data collection period run from July to October 2019. Methodology: We included 242 CVPCs selected in the six municipalities in the Department of Alibori. Primary data relating to socio-economic characteristics (the size of the CVPC, the age, the proportion of women in group, profile of leaders), and governance parameters related to internal governance and the quality of services provided to members. Results: The results revealed that internal governance is generally poor and the quality of services provided to members is good. The proportion of women and the profile of leaders determine (bad) internal governance compared to good governance. The low profile of the leaders, the small size and the low proportion of women determine the quality of the services provided to members. The more the profile of leaders improves, the more likely it is to have good governance. On the other hand, the more the proportion of women in CVPCs increases, the more there is a chance of having bad internal governance rather than good governance. Conclusion: These results suggest that the lower or medium the profile of leaders, the poorer or average internal governance and services provided to members will be. A better combination of all these determinants will improve both the quality of internal governance and the services provided to members in a CVPC.
