The Turbo coding ingeniously combine two simple component coders, use pseudo random interleaver parallelly to construct long code which obtains random characteristic , and take advantage of iterations between the two input/output (SISO)[1,2] decoder to realize pseudorandom decoding. This paper introduces encoding and decoding principle, design and simulation performance of Turbo codes. The simulation results prove that the design scheme is correct. From the spectral character we are acknowledged: not only can Turbo code effectively against the Gauss noise, but also has strong resistance to fading and interference properties. Based on our resuls, the Turbo code in modern communication has more advantages and will play more important role.

AbstractTurbo coding is a very powerful error correction technique that has made a tremendous impact on channel coding in the past two decades. It outperforms most known coding schemes by achieving near Shannon limit error correction using simple component codes and large interleavers. This paper investigates the turbo coder in detail. It presents a design and a working model of the error correction technique using Simulink, a companion softwareto MATLAB. Finally, graphical and tabular results are presented to show that the designed turbo coder works as expected.

AbstractBiped robots are inherently unstable because of their complex kinematics as well as dynamics. Despite many research efforts in developing biped locomotion, the performance of biped locomotion is still far from the expectations. This paper proposes a model-based framework to generate stable biped locomotion. The core of this framework is an abstract dynamics model which is composed of three masses to consider the dynamics of stance leg, torso, and swing leg for minimizing the tracking problems. According to this dynamics model, we propose a modular walking reference trajectories planner which takes into account obstacles to plan all the references. Moreover, this dynamics model is used to formulate the controller as a Model Predictive Control (MPC) scheme which can consider some constraints in the states of the system, inputs, outputs, and also mixed input-output. The performance and the robustness of the proposed framework are validated by performing several numerical simulations using MATLAB. Moreover, the framework is deployed on a simulated torque-controlled humanoid to verify its performance and robustness. The simulation results show that the proposed framework is capable of generating biped locomotion robustly.

For the precise simulation performance, the accuracy of fuel cell modeling is important. Therefore, this paper presents a developed optimization method called Chaos Game Optimization Algorithm (CGO). The developed method provides the ability to accurately model the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). The accuracy of the model is tested by comparing the simulation results with the practical measurements of several standard PEMFCs such as Ballard Mark V, AVISTA SR-12.5 kW, and 6 kW of the Nedstack PS6 stacks. The complexity of the studied problem stems from the nonlinearity of the PEMFC polarization curve that leads to a nonlinear optimization problem, which must be solved to determine the seven PEMFC design variables. The objective function is formulated mathematically as the total error squared between the laboratory measured terminal voltage of PEMFC and the estimated terminal voltage yields from the simulation results using the developed model. The CGO is used to find the best way to fulfill the preset requirements of the objective function. The results of the simulation are tested under different temperature and pressure conditions. Moreover, the results of the proposed CGO simulations are compared with alternative optimization methods showing higher accuracy.

Abstract This article has indicated optical coherent differential polarization (DP) 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transceiver systems with free-space optical (FSO) channel in the presence of differential coding scheme. The optical coherent DP 16-QAM receiver executes the reverse process conversion of the optical signal into an electrical one that is detected to the users. The proposed optical coherent DP-16 QAM transceiver systems based FSO channel model with differential coding has been presented and compared with the previous model. However, the simulation results have confidence realization about the superiority of the proposed simulation model. Hence the proposed optical coherent DP-16 QAM transceiver systems simulation model with differential coding is verified and validated the enhancement performance based on simulation performance parameters.

This paper addresses the problem of state and parameter estimation for a class of uncertain DC-DC such converters as DC–DC boost, buck and buck-boost converters. Using the advantages of Immersion and Invariance technique with input-output filtered transformation, a proper immersion and auxiliary dynamic filter is constructed in the proposed estimator. Uniform global asymptotic convergence of the estimator is proven for the system with parametric uncertainties. In the presence of both output and state dynamics perturbations, the performance of the proposed estimator has been theoretically analyzed and verified by means of simulation results. In addition, the effectiveness of this scheme is validated via experimental test for DC-DC boost converter.

This paper examines turbo codes that are currently introduced in many international standards, including the UMTS standard for third generation personal communications and the ETSI DVB-T standard for Terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting. The convergence properties of the iterative decoding process associated with a given turbo-coding scheme are estimated using the analysis technique based on so-called extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) chart. This approach provides a possibility to anticipate the bit error rate (BER) of a turbo code system using only the EXIT chart. It is shown that EXIT charts are powerful tools to analyze and optimize the convergence behavior of iterative systems utilizing the turbo principle. The idea is to consider the associated SISO stages as information processors that map input a priori LLR’s onto output extrinsic LLR’s, the information content being obviously assumed to increase from input to output, and introduce them to the design of turbo systems without the reliance on extensive simulation. Compared with the other methods for generating EXIT functions, the suggested approach provides insight into the iterative behavior of linear turbo systems with substantial reduction in numerical complexity.

When the frame shield support was applied in the fully mechanized driving process of the seam gateway, there would be some incongruous problems. Aimed at the problems, mainly was discordance between the fully mechanized driving and the gateway support, we put forward the requirements of the multi-function platform and made the design scheme clear. By applying the finite element software, the simulation of the dynamics response was conducted on the multi-function platform. On this basis, an analysis was conducted on the stress of each loading part, the simulation results and mechanics calculations have shown the design of the multifunction platform could fully meet each technical index. The on-site applications have revealed that the platforms match with the fully mechanized driving machinery rationally; provide a safety standing basis for the construction of the frame shield support. Further, the platform has improved the mechanization of the frame shield support and increased the support operation efficiency.

Dielectric elastomer is a kind of electroactive polymer material with optimal performance. As actuator material, dielectric elastomer has shown a good prospect. Based on studying the principle of electroactive polymer, a new type of cylindrical actuator was designed. Its 3-D figure and 2-D dimension drawing was finished by UG software. The animation simulation of the actuator was studied. The simulation results verified the feasibility of design scheme. Electroactive polymer will have broad application prospects in the field of actuator.

A new biaxial decoupled resonant micro-accelerometer is researched. The new biaxial resonant micro-accelerometer consists of four same tuning forking resonators, four pair of decoupled beams, four lever mechanisms and a proof mass. The decoupling between two orthogonal axes is realized by the decoupling beams, which will benefit to isolate two axes acceleration detection. The simulation is implemented to verify the basic principle by the Ansys. The simulation results prove that the effective frequencies of two acceleration sensitive modes are 3.699 kHz and 3.718 kHz separately. Two pair of resonator modes which are 23.893 kHz, 23.946 kHz, 26.974 kHz and 26.999 kHz separately have about 3kHz difference in frequency in order to prevent the mutual interference. And the interference modes are isolated with effective mode apparently. The input-output characteristic simulation results indicate the y-axis scale factor is 57.1Hz/g and the coupling output in the x-axis is 0.0148Hz/g, while the x-axis scale factor is 56.1Hz/g and the coupling output in the y-axis is 0.0073Hz/g, which proves that the new biaxial resonant micro-accelerometer is practicable and has an excellent decoupled performance.
