In recent years, with the accelerating global resources depletion and increasing environment deterioration, sustainable development has become common understanding of best strategy in long-term development of human being. Green building has been the hottest keyword in building industry. This paper expounds the updated research of green building situation and trend, and investigate the green building development of DongYing City. The results indicated that green building development in China was still in the primary stage, the evaluation of green building would become national popular, the number of certified green building would increase year by year, and the development of green building in China was in the stage from light green to dark green.

Building material is the base of civil engineering construction, in the history of thousands of years of development, building materials also gradually change and change, and is closely related to the progress of human civilization and the development of science and technology.Green building materials has the vital significance to the construction of a conservation-oriented society and sustainable development, in accordance with China's social development. This paper introduces the importance of the development of green building materials, analyzes some factors influencing the development of green building materials in China, and discusses the development tendency of green building materials in China.

The main objective of the study is to evaluate the practice and progress of the activities of green banking in the way of sustainable development of Bangladesh. Green banking is regarded as sustainable banking, which has a role to safeguard the planet from environmental degradation, with an aim of ensuring sustainable development. It comprises the choices that take sustainability into account. Sustainable development is an expansion that comes across the requirements of the present situation without overlooking the capacity of future situations to meet the necessities. Bangladesh is in need of proper adaptation and utilization of green banking for its sustainable development. The present study is conceptual and analytical in nature based on the secondary data with an extensive literature survey along with scanning the annual and quarterly reports of Bangladesh Bank on green banking during the 2011-2019 fiscal years. The secondary sources of data are internet and commercial banks websites, Bangladesh Bank (BB) websites and literature reviews, etc. The collected data are analyzed and interpreted in the light of the practice and progress of activities of green banking in Bangladesh from a global perspective. The study shows that banking in Bangladesh is in the diversification phase passing through the intensification and foundation phases. It is progressing steadily. They have a lot more scope to contribute to the diversification of green finance in the way of sustainable development of Bangladesh. Rigorous, effective, and coherent efforts from banks in this regard are the demands of the day.

After analysis of yichang traditional dwellings protection present situation and the value of the development of cultural tourism,The author of this paper intends to use the protection of the traditional dwellings in Yichang and its sustainable utilization as a starting point to establish the new image of Yichang cultural tourism, which can not only promote the development of the tourism industry in Yichang, as well as play a big role in the protection of traditional houses. Due to the deficiency of Yichang, which was shown in Part of the development of traditional folk tourism . So I put forward that we should make full use of the local traditional culture and fully explore the cultural connotation of local-style dwelling houses, so as to improve the residents living facilities. Also appeal for a rational look at developmental relationship between traditional dwelling and cultural tourism, seeking the best way to protect traditional residence and its tourism sustainable development.

Building materials and construction technology are strongly interrelated with the pillars for sustainable development (e.g. environment, society economy, culture and politics). Earth Building, an 11,000-year-old practice of building using sustainable and earth materials, is practiced worldwide. Earth has been used to construct walls, floors, roofs, and even furniture. Today it is estimated that between 33-50%of the world's population is housed in earth homes. This chapter reviews the two-year process of earth buildings and earth architecture carried out by the Department of Architecture Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering at National University of Malaysia (UKM). The current research emphasis is on the types, construction methods, and architectural aspects of earth buildings and earth architecture. The current manuscript compares type of earth buildings and their properties and applications based on building materials and architectural aspects in construction.

Historic districts have become a significant aspect of urban diversity and sustainable development, due to their dual attributes of cultural heritage and living community. This study aims to assess the influence of conservation efforts on the sustainable development of historic districts. Based on a literature review, this study designed a sustainability evaluation model that included twelve indicators and twenty-seven sub-indicators, in reference to heritage conservation, stakeholder participation, economic development, and planning and governance. The case study of the Xijie Historic District in Dujiangyan City, China, was selected to apply the model. Using data collected via questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews, and using qualitative and quantitative combined methods and weighted averages, the model produced the sustainability index of the Xijie Historic District. Further examinations were performed and findings were explored, regarding the conservation efforts for the Xijie Historic District. Despite the research limitation of a lack of multi-sample verification, the results of the assessment are consistent with what is found in practice, demonstrating the validity of the model. The sustainability evaluation model can be applied to various historic districts and regions, by reassigning indicator weights to the different cases; the indicators system also provides references for research and practical applications for the conservation and sustainable development of other heritage types.

Bamboo is an ancient building material, but it is rarely applied in the modern buildings nowadays. The German-Chinese House in EXPO 2010 Shanghai China is mainly made up of bamboo members; it fully demonstrates the ideas of sustainable development and environmental protection. The 8m high pavilion is a two-storey building which is 25m long and 10m wide, and its first floor is 250 m2 and second floor is 80 m2. The exterior structure of the pavilion is made up of 96 JULONG bamboo canes whose diameter is approximately 200mm, and the inner two storey structure is made up of glubam beams and columns which have a section of 300mmX400mm. Obviously the designer had applied both the good compression capability of the pure bamboo canes and the excellent bending capability of the glubam members in this structure. As there is no bearing capacity data of the glubam, several tests for the glubam members had been carried and thus a lot of useful data had been got, therefore some structure analysis had been done. It indicates that glubam is a good structural material, and as a friendly environmentally building material, it can be widely applied in building engineering.[

Xian Sanxuejie district is a typical historic district of the city. Presently this type of traditional districts is surrounded by many modern buildings due to the rapid urban expansion. The historic districts are facing problems of poor courtyard micro-climate conditions and low living level, which has become the bottleneck of historic districts sustainable development. This paper studies thermal environment, luminous environment, solar environment and wind environment from a new perspective using Ecotect building environment analyzing software. The author explores micro-climate improving method suitable for traditional courtyard in order to promote micro-climate quality of historic district and to improve the comfort of local residences. The purpose is to achieve sustainable development of historic districts.
