To solve more complex manufacturing problems and perform larger scale collaborative manufacturing, a new service-oriented networked manufacturing model—Cloud Manufacturing is presented. The paper presents a resource virtualization model to support resource sharing in cloud manufacturing environment. It can be decomposed into four layers: manufacturing resources layer, concrete web service layer, logical service layer and application layer. The relationships of every layer are discussed in detail. At last, we make a conclusion and put forward the future work.

Cloud manufacturing is emerging as a new intelligent and collaborative manufacturing model. With the development of virtualization technology, the manufacturing resources can be encapsulated as manufacturing cloud services (MCSs). The accuracy of service quality evaluation is the key to selecting a MCS from many available ones with similar functions but different QoS, but existing QoS evaluation models only focuses on common service attributes, which cannot meet user needs. Hence, this paper presents an execution framework for domain-oriented QoS evaluation for MCSs. Four function modules for domain-oriented QoS evaluation of MCSs were analyzed, and the involving key technologies were discussed as well.

Abstract Cloud manufacturing is a state-of-art networked manufacturing model with the idea and technologies of cloud computing to transform traditional production-oriented manufacturing into service-oriented manufacturing. This emerging model can make manufacturing resources, in a manner similar to traditional utilities such as water, gas and electricity, available (offered) over the internet as convenient, scalable, on-demand services to enterprises. The aim is to improve the sharing efficiency of manufacturing resources and reduce manufacturing costs in industries. In this paper, the current research of cloud manufacturing is summarized, including relevant theories, technologies and applications. A cloud solution for workshop management is proposed from a service perspective, along with its architecture and business process. The methodologies, including manufacturing resource virtualization and workshop sensor network configuration are developed to support heterogeneous data integration and effective collaboration among services in cloud. A case study is demonstrated and discussed to validate the proposed cloud service system.

Social manufacturing is characterized by its capability of utilizing socialized manufacturing resources to achieve value adding. Recently, a new type of social manufacturing pattern emerges and shows potential for core factories to improve their limited manufacturing capabilities by utilizing the resources from outside socialized manufacturing resource communities. However, the core factories need to analyze the resource characteristics of the socialized resource communities before making operation plans, and this is challenging due to the unaffiliated and self-driven characteristics of the resource providers in socialized resource communities. In this paper, a deep learning and complex network based approach is established to address this challenge by using socialized designer community for demonstration. Firstly, convolutional neural network models are trained to identify the design resource characteristics of each socialized designer in designer community according to the interaction texts posted by the socialized designer on internet platforms. During the process, an iterative dataset labelling method is established to reduce the time cost for training set labelling. Secondly, complex networks are used to model the design resource characteristics of the community according to the resource characteristics of all the socialized designers in the community. Two real communities from RepRap 3D printer project are used as case study.

Aiming at the management issue of mass sensory data from the manufacturing resources in cloud manufacturing, a management method for mass sensory data based on Hadoop is proposed. Firstly, characteristics of sensory data in cloud manufacturing are analyzed, meanings and advantages of Internet of Things and cloud computing are elaborated. Then the structure of the cloud manufacturing service platform is proposed based on Hadoop, the information model of manufacturing resources in cloud manufacturing is defined, and the data cloud in the cloud manufacturing service platform is designed. The distributed storage of mass sensory data is implemented and a universal distributed computing model of mass sensory data is established based on the characteristics of Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS).

Centralized management and sharing of manufacturing resources is one of the important functions of cloud manufacturing platform. There are many kinds of manufacturing resources, centralized management, optimized scheduling, quick searching for various manufacturing resources become important issues in a cloud manufacturing platform. This paper presents a resource management model based on metadata to realize the access and unified management of the hardware resources, software resources and knowledge resources. Two management approaches respectively for static and dynamic resource data are introduced to realize resource state monitoring and real-time information collecting. On this basis, the relationship between static and dynamic data is determined and service-oriented of resources is realized.

Recycling economy, as a new type of development model and economic growth mode, will form a social resultant force in government promotion, enterprise entities and public participation. Thus, it is quite necessary to discuss on the economic behavior, development restriction and profit motive of the Government, enterprises and the public as the micro-economic entities. Especially in the process of current recycling economic development of China, the sticking point for further development and achievement of Chinese recycling economy lies so much on how to enhance the intrinsic dynamics of the enterprises for developing the recycling economy.

Abstract Heavy metal contamination of water resources is a critical issue which adversely affects humans. Ferrate(VI) (FeVIO42−, Fe(VI)), as a new type of green multifunctional water treatment agent, has shown promising potential for environmental decontamination. A complete understanding of the interactions between ferrate(VI) and toxic metals can be conducive to the further development of ferrate(VI) technology for application to wastewater treatment. This review first introduces the purification of ferrate(VI) technology for toxic metals including free heavy metals and metal complexes briefly. The effective parameters are then analyzed and discussed in detail. Subsequently, the reactivity and mechanisms of ferrate(VI) with toxic metals are emphatically described. Finally, possible research challenges and directions for ferrate(VI) technology applied to wastewater treatment in the future are summarized.
