An electroactive polymer-ceramic hybrid actuation system (HYBAS) was recently developed. The HYBAS demonstrates significantly-enhanced electromechanical performance by utilizing advantages of cooperative contributions of the electromechanical responses of an electrostrictive copolymer and an electroactive single crystal. The hybrid actuation system provides not only a new type of device but also a concept to utilize different electroactive materials in a cooperative and efficient method for optimized electromechanical performance. In order to develop an effective procedure to optimize the performance of a hybrid actuation system (HYBAS), a theoretical model has been developed, based on the elastic and electromechanical properties of the materials utilized in the system and on the configuration of the device. The model also evaluates performance optimization as a function of geometric parameters, including the length of the HYBAS and the thickness ratios of the constituent components. The comparison between the model and the experimental results shows a good agreement and validates the model as an effective method for the further development of high performance actuating devices or systems for various applications.

ABSTRACTMokumé Gane layered metal is a 300-year old decorative metal laminate technique peculiar to the isolated culture of the Japanese Shogunate. Like many complex craft practices handed down through individual experience, the manufacture and development of Mokumé Gane has changed minimally over time. The application of contemporary metallurgical knowledge and solid state bonding techniques such as Hot Press Diffusion Bonding and Hot Roll Bonding provide for further development of Mokumé Gane: bonding success rates are improved, and manufacturing times are reduced. In addition, the range of possible metal combinations is substantially increased; 42 different combinations to date have been successfully bonded, including a new type of Mokumé Gane employing aluminium alloys. This research has allowed a very large increase in the variety of colours, patterns, and visual effects, available to contemporary metalsmiths and jewellers.

The formation, functioning and development of organisations in the conditions of modern realities focuses on the search for the most constructive and effective directions of their development, contributing to the strengthening of competitive advantages. In this direction, as a rule, measures are implemented aimed at adapting to the external and internal conditions of further development. Often, the activities implemented at the micro environment level are focused on cost optimisation, and at the macro environment level, the main attention is paid to strengthening the stability of inter-corporate relations. One of the modern approaches in this direction, which is quite common in economic practice, is the integration process aimed at obtaining a synergetic effect as an additional resource that contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of corporate structures in market conditions. In turn, integration processes determine the need to develop a systematic approach to management not only in the format of a specific corporate structure, but in general, in the format of an economic system consisting of several economic entities interconnected with each other. The purpose of this study is to systematise the management processes of corporate structures that are interconnected by the conditions of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The purpose of the study is to prove the innovative approaches of F. Schubert in vocal works on the example of his later opuses – the vocal cycle „Winterreiseˮ, op. 90 („Winter Roadˮ) and the song collection „Der Schwanengesangˮ („Swan Songˮ). The methods of this proposed scientific article are based on the research approaches (historical, compare, analytical), which allow to us to follow the path of dramatization of the song in the late works of F. Schubert, as well as to determine the conformity of the vocal intonation to the poetic text. The material of scientific intelligence there are ten separate songs, namely, five songs from the vocal cycle „Winter Pathˮ and five songs on the lyrics by G. Heine from the collection „Swan Songˮ. In our opinion, they are not only indicative, but also similar in form, methods and content. The scientificnovelty of this research is to in the treatment to the issues of determining the correspondence of vocal intonation to a poetic text. Conclusions. Lyrics by Wilhelm Muller and Heinrich Heine are the peak of Schubertʼs vocal lyrics, the starting point for the further development of the song (romance) genre. Simplicity and the associated „sociability” of song intonation, on the one hand, naturally continue the traditions of the Austro-German song Lied. However, while the melody of Schubert reveals time fundamentally new qualities caused by the composerʼs innovative attitude to its formation. The reason for this is a great attention to the verbal text. The close interaction of poetic words and music, especially in the late works of the composer romantic, gives rise to a fundamentally new type of vocal intonation, a new level of voice and accompaniment and, as a final result, the emergence of a new quality of the chamber-vocal work – „poems with music”, thereby pushing on the further path of development of chamber vocal genres.

The article is devoted to further development of historical-and-cultural approach and methods of earthenware vessels study. A.A. Bobrinsky laid the principles of the approach and respective methods in several articles (Bobrinsky, 1986, 1988a, b, 1991). Three main stages of vessel shapes study are expounded in the article: preparatory, analytical and interpretation stages. The main attention is paid to the analytical stage. It is assumed that content of the interpretation stage will be expounded in a special article based on specific ethnographic and archeological materials. Within framework of analytical stage of vessel shapes study 5 levels of analysis are considered successively: I – analysis of general proportionality (GP) of vessel forms; II – analysis of vessel shapes’ natural structure; III – analysis of extent of functional parts’ maturity; IV – analysis of vessel shapes’ elementary structure; V – analysis of vessel shapes’ curved line (“covers”). Various aspects of potters’ cultural traditions in the sphere of certain vessel shapes creation are analyzed at all levels. At the same time the deeper is the level of shapes analysis, the more detailed cultural peculiarities of population and potters are discovered and fixed. Every level of analysis can be applied to any of 7 functional parts that form the natural structure of specific vessels. It should be emphasized that in this article an extent of functional parts’ maturity is analyzed in considerably greater detail than it was done earlier. Some rules of vessel shapes comparative analysis are expounded in the concluding section. Such analysis is performed pursuant to research tasks in two directions: in direction of certain potters’ individual skills and in direction of cultural traditions of human collectives. In the latter case an extent of cultural homogeneity of collective traditions is fixed. Infraction of the pottery traditions may be related to cultural infiltration (which brings about the beginning of mixture process), to different stages of cultural integration (which means development of mixture process) and to cultural assimilation (the mixture process completion).

The event market has been developing in Ukraine for less than 15 years. It is a market with high competition, yet, according to experts, a low culture that requires research, study, and improvement. The article reveals the concepts: event industry, event technology, events, event management, event marketing, as well as describes the relationship between them. The event industry sector is studied based on the development of the creative economy in Ukraine. The conceptual model of event organization is built and the interrelation of its elements is investigated. The approaches to the practical application are described. The example of the State Enterprise “Arena Lviv” outlines the problems of development of the event industry in Ukraine in modern conditions, operating during the quarantine period associated with the prevention of the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 in Ukraine. The article determines that in the quarantine period, the number of event measures decreased significantly, in particular, many planned activities were canceled or postponed. To hold events in compliance with all quarantine norms, the State Enterprise “Arena Lviv” proposed a new type and method of events - a project - a car cinema, where spectators stay in their cars and do not lose touch with art. Prospects and ways of further development of the event industry in Ukraine are described. The paper generalizes that for further development of the event industry in Ukraine, it is necessary to create conditions for the interpenetration of spheres that form the basis of the industry. It is determined that the government approaches to the development of the event industry should take into account the fact that the industry makes extensive use of human relations, so it is most vulnerable to emergencies and unusual social situations.
