Following regional tourism cooperation, the promotion of balanced sustainable development has begun to play a vital role in the tourism industry. Using the West Coast of the Strait urban agglomeration, China, as an example, this study uses a data envelopment analysis (DEA) to analyzes the nonlinear relationship between tourism economic contact intensity and tourism industry efficiency by constructing a mixed effect model. The results show the following: (1) In the early stage of regional tourism cooperation, the efficiency of the tourism industry will decrease with an increase in the intensity of tourism economic contact. As regional cooperation tends towards a stable stage, the efficiency of the tourism industry will continue to increase with the strengthening of the intensity of tourism economic contact. (2) The regional economic level harms the efficiency of the tourism industry. The urbanization level has a positive effect on the efficiency of the tourism industry. (3) The level of opening up and transportation development in the region will not only bring tourism resources or tourists, but also lead them to flow out. They have no significant impacts on the efficiency of the tourism industry.

Central Asia is extremely important for the security of Russia, China and the Eurasian region, both historically and at present. Unconventional security challenges, led by terrorism, extremism and separatism, which in the official Chinese rhetoric and official documents of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) are designated as the ‘three forces of evil,’ pose a serious challenge to the security of China, Russia, the countries of Central Asia and Eurasia in general. Over the 20 years of the SCO’s history, proceeding from their ‘Shanghai spirit,’ the participating countries have created unique legislative and organizational mechanisms for a joint strike against the ‘three forces of evil,’ as well as mechanisms for bilateral and multilateral antiterrorist exercises. The most important of these is the Peace Mission joint exercise, which has been regularly held since 2005. These mechanisms of cooperation within the SCO embody the spirit of solidarity, mutual trust and cooperation, reflect the ability of the members of the organization to jointly counter the ‘three forces of evil’ and respond to related problems, and also symbolize the SCO’s determination to protect stability in the region and peace in the world. The organization has made a significant contribution to ensuring security in the region. Nevertheless, in the face of existing problems and new challenges such as potential competition and disagreements within the organization, problems with new members after the expansion of the membership, and also the ineffective functioning of some of the SCO’s security instruments, all SCO members need to strengthen their cooperation and open new ways for organizing the SCO to fulfil well its unique role to ensure security in the territory of SCO states and in Eurasia as a whole. The new model of relations—‘Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction entering a new era’—that underlies the SCO gives the organization greater stability. The SCO is a unique organization on the territory of Eurasia and has both implemented an important innovation in the theory and practice of international relations and opened a new model of regional cooperation. Therefore, it can be stated with a high degree of confidence that multilateral cooperation in the field of security will gradually deepen.

Underground architecture, spiritually and historically connected with Christianity, is of undoubted interest for research. This trend in architecture forms a number of distinctive typological groups. objects associated with Christian shrines dating back to the first centuries of the new era are among them. Underground architecture includes individual cave temples, martyrias, large monastic complexes, objects that combine secular and liturgical orientation. Crypts and temple subfloors correspond to the subject under consideration. Despite the evidence of significant spiritual, construction and technological limitations, there is considerable freedom in the layout of liturgical spaces in the architecture of underground churches. Many objects belonging to the pre-iconoclastic period or to the synodal period of the Russian Church are compositional solutions and their ideological and symbolic justifications that are not found in aboveground churches. Combining the typological groups of the underground architecture of Christianity into a holistic study seems fruitful for understanding the origins and developing the principles of the development of a unique and little-known component of temple architecture. In this article, authors substantiate the relevance of a comprehensive analysis of the underground architecture of Christianity. Authors have determined the purpose of the study – the study of theoretical and theological foundations and the development of a methodology for the modern development of the tradition of underground architecture of Christianity. The purpose of our work is structured into logically related groups of local tasks. The research methodology is based on a theological approach that justifies architectural and compositional features based on historical, theological and practical liturgical positions.
