In the 6σ-based product quality management system, influencing factors of 5M1E (man, machine, material, method, measure and environment) are the key points to ensure the quality of products reach 6σ level. However, because the traditional quality control methods only focus on the factors of machine, material, method and measure but ignore the factors of man and environment and their relationship on product quality, the 6σ level objective of product quality cannot be implemented well. As such, this study proposes an improving approach for 6σ-based multi-process machining environment whose objective is to build the connection relationship and model among operating environment, workers and product quality. Through adjusting the values of operating environmental parameters, the behaviors of workers on machines can be controlled and the product quality can be improved. This study provides a new solution for 6σ-based product quality control and management.

Risk assessment is an integral part of an enterprise's quality management system. The risk of low quality products is the most significant risk, as it is directly related to the concept of enterprise competitiveness. The paper analyzes the scientific papers related to the assessment of the quality of products, processes and services, their disadvantages, possible limits of application. It is proposed to use mathematical dependences to obtain estimates of product quality indicators on a dimensionless scale. Knowing the density function of random variables of product quality indicators and knowing the mathematical dependence of their estimates on a dimensionless scale, it is proposed to obtain the density function of estimates. Knowing the function of the density of estimates of quality indicators, it is proposed to find the probabilities of risks of the assessment of quality indicators in any given interval on a dimensionless scale. A method for assessing the risks of low quality products has been developed

Assessment of a process capability is an important area of the quality management. Quality of produced outputs depends on the quality of the process, in which product characteristics are formed. In considering the capability of the process, the ability of the process should be determined to provide the required quality of products. The required product quality has to meet customer requirements and expectations. For determination of process capability are used methods, which are based on comparing variability of selected product quality characteristics. The smaller the variability of the input factor is, the better is the process capability and therefore a better quality of product is produced. Improvement of process capability and reducing the variability of the product quality characteristics can be achieved by means of applying of statistical methods. Standards for the quality management system require the need of statistical methods application as well as other tools and techniques for improvement in business practice. It is necessary to use statistical methods in measuring, monitoring and process improvement. So can be determined the process variability, identified common and special causes of variability and in consequence to propose corrective actions. The paper describes first theoretical characteristics of capability assessment methods and tools in continuous improvement in industry praxis. With application of chosen statistical methods has been improved capability of the riveting process of clutch disk.

The present research features the Russian flour-milling industry. Flour manufacturers are a key component of the bread- baking complex of Russia, which ensures the food security of the country in the conditions of import substitution. However, large flour mills have recently experienced a decrease in profitability indicators, and production of low-quality flour by illegal producers has increased. Hence, the quality management system of flour milling enterprises requires new methodological approaches to assess the effectiveness of quality control procedures and innovative ways to improve product quality management that would ensure the competitive advantage. Quality management should be based on representative information obtained by using differential or complex methods, with numerical values established by measuring various indicators of product quality, i.e. objective and subjective. The quality assessment system should be used to determine the quality level at each stage of the innovation process, which will allow for effective management decisions. The considered quality assessment methods were adapted to the sectoral specifics of the milling industry, since the efficiency of grain processing largely depends on the stability of regimes at all its stages. The paper introduces an economic and mathematical model that includes the calculation of three groups of assessment indicators: the quality of preparation of raw materials for grinding, the quality of the technological process, and the technical level of production. The performance indicators of their activities proved to be significantly affected by the quality characteristics of the processed raw materials, the efficiency of process control, and the use of the potential of the technical level of production. The analytical studies conducted by the authors revealed trends in the product quality management at sectoral enterprises and proved the need to use system-oriented innovative solutions at all stages of flour production.

Improving the quality of industrial products quality still is a challenge. Despite using quality control, there is a constant need to support this process to achieve an effective, precise, and complex analysis of product quality. The purpose was to develop a universal model that supports improving the quality of products via the consistent and repetitive determination of the causes of product incompatibilities and actions leading to their elimination; the model can be integrated with any quality control of the product. The model verification was carried out for the incompatibility of the mechanical seal in alloy 410, in which the porosity cluster was identified by the fluorescence method (FPI). The purpose of the analysis was created by the SMART(-ER) method. Then, a team of experts was selected from which the brainstorming (BM) was realized. After the BM method, the source of incompatibility and initial causes were identified. Then, the Ishikawa diagram (according to rule 5M + E) was developed to group the initial causes. Next, during the BM method, the main causes were selected. In the last stage, the 5Why method was used to determine improvement actions, i.e., adjust clotting parameters, introduce the obligation to undergo periodic training, and set aside a separate place for storing the electrodes. Originality is the combination of selected quality management tools in a coherent model, the main aim of which is to identify the main causes of incompatibility and improvement actions. Additionally, this model is universal and has applications with analyzing any product and the causes of its incompatibility, and it can be integrated with any product quality control. Therefore, the model can be useful for improving the quality of products in any enterprise.
