Advanced CDIO engineering education philosophy, emphasizing the design of integrated curriculum plans. Traditional mechanical engineering plan is hard to be increased the curriculum content and hours. A "nexus" method is proposed in this paper, through the redistribution of the available time and resources to achieve integration curriculum plans. Theory mechanics as an important course of mechanical engineering discipline is described in detail to implement the “nexus” teaching method. The professional learning interests of students is improved effectively, the bad habit of "learn a new course, forget an old one" for the college students is changed to a certain extent.

A novel teaching method is proposed to design the contents of the interdisciplinary courses for the specialized mechanical engineering education. The paper discusses the necessity of assigning the proper interdisciplinary courses on the analysis of currently increasing mixed-talent requirement in our modern society. The characteristics of interdisciplinary research are elucidated in order to obtain the hints for guiding the reform of teaching method to suit for the new status that occur in the interdisciplinary course. The relationships and intersections among the different majors are regards as the most important factor for teaching the interdisciplinary courses well. Refining the associated knowledge from these intersections is the core task for teachers since these contents are very easy to avoid the intense inner anxiety and conflict for the student due to the difference between the own and other majors. For the teacher, the contents of lessons should be designed on the basic of the specialized skill of student’s major and not exceed their knowledge structures on a large degree. Based on this behavior, the detailed knowledge of specialized mechanical engineering is gradually assigned in the classes and terminally the whole specialized industry is learned by the student, which is the desired goal. Finally, the example of electrical machinery is addressed for verifying the effectiveness of the approach of refining the intersections to design the contents and classes. The practical results show that the method proposed in this paper has the high effectiveness on teaching the interdisciplinary specialized mechanical engineering education. In addition, we believe that this schema is also able to be applied for the related interdisciplinary courses.

Professional Engineers are generally accountable for the construction of a physical artifact. Therefore, an important outcome of an engineering education is to appreciate this accountability within the context of engineering design classes. To this end, the second year mechanical engineering design class at the University of Saskatchewan was modified to emphasize accountability through physical prototyping. Significant changes to the structure and facilities used in the course were required to implement this new teaching method. These included schedule changes, faculty advisor orientation, and the establishment of a five-workstation fabrication/prototyping lab. Anecdotal and survey evidence over the first three years suggests the change was a success.

The team-individual approach is proposed to act as the teaching method for the curriculum design course in the mechanical engineering education. Firstly, the paper describes the contradictions of the cultivation and requirements for the students between universities and enterprises. Namely, the individual education in the universities is very different with the team spirit with widely recommendations of most modern enterprises. We elucidate the similar feature between team spirit and individual education that is extreme stimulation of the maximum personal intrinsic potential for helping success in their career. Therefore, team-individual teaching method emphasizes on the integration of team-spirit and individual education, by which teacher not only provide the platform for students to arouse their initiative for independent learning and thought but also range their behaviors to enclose the objective of their associated team. In addition, teachers should assess the students based on their work by the oral examination in the limited time and offer the score on the spot and expose it to all the students, which play a vital role on the stimulation for the students. The experimental results in our university show the validation and effectiveness by the team-individual teaching method for the curriculum design course in the mechanical engineering education. Furthermore, team-individual teaching method is also supposed to have the high effective function for the other engineering educations.

The new engineering department represents the latest development direction of industry and business, referring to the new engineering discipline that is being formed or is about to be formed. The talent cultivation of colleges and universities is the most important core task for the new engineering construction to meet the current and future development needs of the industry. It is necessary to cultivate and bring up a group of cross-composite engineering and technology talents with innovative and entrepreneurial abilities and cross-border integration capabilities in high quality. In order to satisfy the training objects of Emerging Engineering Education, a new teaching pattern is needed. As a heuristic teaching method, project-oriented education is to organize students to participate in the whole process of project design, implementation and management, and complete the teaching tasks in the project implementation process. By this way, the students may acquire not only the solid theoretical knowledge but also the experience in the application of this knowledge in the professional field. Therefore, the project-oriented teaching method is the effect and competitive teaching mode for Emerging Engineering Education. For the course of computer simulation of automotive, the project-oriented teaching method is adopted. Corresponding implementation program is proposed and analyzed.

Abstract: Educational game tools have important benefits in a child's cognitive development, motor skills, and children's fitness. The design and manufacturing done at the Mechanical Engineering Education Laboratory of Palangka Raya University needs to be analyzed to find out how far the tool is useful. The first thing to do is to study the literature and then identify research variables aimed at getting a picture of what the user needs. From the results of the initial questionnaire, three variables were obtained, namely design, easy game and safety. Further research data that have been obtained with an index value of the products obtained are 94.83%.
