On the foundation of deeply studying UG re-development technology and synthetically utilizing its secondary development tools, including UG/Open MenuScript, UG/Open UIStyler, UG/Open API and Visual C++ 6.0, a dedicated 3D parts library of injection mold is established, parameterized design of injection mold is achieved and mold design efficiency improved.

With the use of Visual C++ 6.0 programming development tools as the secondary development of Unigraphics NX (UG), dynamic link library DLL plug-ins were created. This paper takes fixed pedestal which is a standard part with assembly level of mold as an example, describing the parametric assembly modeling technology and implementation method of automatic virtual assembly process. The method can improve the design efficiency greatly by changing the related parameters of the parts to regenerate model fast and complete the design as well as assemble of fixed pedestal. It is proved that this method can meet the mould design requirements, and can be expanded and used for parameterized modeling and assembling of other standard parts with assembly level of mold in the practice.

The gating system is usually made up of the sprue, the runner, the gate and the slag well. It is an important component of the mold. On the basis of relationship among runner’s geometry, the pressure fall of plastic melt flowing in runner, flow rate and material properties, we can use the UDF library features and Pro / Toolkit functions in PRO / E software to do the second development of PRO / E software. As a result, we can establish the CAD module of gating system for the injection mold. The module has the perfect function and good generality and can help the designer for cost reduction. It may be used whenever you want to use. The PRO / E software has a powerful function to design mold. Taking these as a base, it is very convenient for the module to design the gating system of injection mold.

A design thought based on ergonomics constraint is introduced to machine tool operating components design in this paper, and a design method of machine tool operating components is researched and provided which is realized by applying database technology and Secondary development technology based a '3D entity parameterized modeling software system platform. This method tests and verifies instrumentalizing the knowledge about industrial design and ergonomics.

Taking the conjugate cams beating-up mechanism as an example to carry out three-dimensional parameterized design with Pro/Engineer secondary development accords to the equations of conjugate cams curves derived by the analytical method. Using the finite element software ANSYS the dynamic characteristic of beating rocker has been analyzed. And through the calculation the modal distribution and modal shapes of beating rocker are provided. It could provide references for design of future high-performance beating-up mechanism.

Through the development of the web parts library system, this paper intensively studies the secondary development technology of Pro/E in asynchronous mode on the .NET platform, using C # programming language, dynamically browsing three-dimensional parts technology on line and on-line parameterized driving technology, and with ADO.NET network programming technology, achieves on-line connecting database. With all the key technologies researched above, it demonstrates the feasibility of achieving each function and process of web parts library system.

The system structure of missile parameterized design is put forward to solve the repeat problems in the process of designing and manufacturing missiles. It is illustrated that in Pro/E environment the combination of missile design parameters with constraint relation is adopted to develop missile parameterized system with VC++6.0 and Pro/Toolkit used as secondary development tools for the secondary development and through the dynamic linkage, and the missile parameterized design system is integrated with Pro/E tightly. The missiles designers can obtain series of projectiles or new types of projectiles by modifying main design parameters, which making it possible to meet with a certain standard tactically and technically and shorten the cycle of designing new products.

With the development of mechanical industry, more and more standard parts have been used in all kinds of large assembly process. The same kinds but different types of standard parts are used, making it boring and difficult to build standard parts. Therefore, this article describes a rapid modeling method of standard parts Based on UG Part Families and Excel database. According to the concrete examples, the procedures for establishing the standard parts library were presented. The method is simple and practical, no secondary development is needed and the design efficiency is increased.

Every component of the circumferential MEFP warhead was analyzed and the key parameters that affect the performance of warhead were summarized. The parameterized design of circumferential MEFP warhead was realized by applying the CAA/C++ technology of CATIA for second development and the parameterized modeling process was obtained. The 3D model used for subsequent finite element analysis can be quickly built by programming-driven method to make warhead study convenient and improve the design efficiency.
