Methodology/Technique - A model was developed and tested using a sample of 66 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange between 2012 and 2014. Findings - The data was collected and analysed using a least square regression and moderated regression analysis. The analysis shows that institutional ownership and firm size affect firm value. The results also indicate that tax avoidance moderates the effect of institutional ownership and that of a firm's size on its value. Type of Paper - Empirical Keywords: Institutional Ownership, Firm Size, Tax Avoidance, Firm Value. JEL Classification: G30, G32, G39.

The performance of innovation could be counted by the number of patent. Patent information enables a firm to estimate R&D efficiency and stock market value. Nonetheless, patents is not universal because more than 50% companies in COMPUSTAT do not patent their new products. Since patents have some drawbacks, Cooper, Knott, and Yang (2015) use Research Quotient (RQ) as an indicator of firm innovation because RQ measures the productivity of the R&D department, which produces a new innovative product and transforms it into revenues. In this paper, we examine the impact of option trading on the relation between RQ and stock market return (or firm value). We find that RQ has the positive impact on firm value, proxy by market-to-book (MTB) value. The option dummy, which is the firm with option trading, has significantly positive impact on the relation between RQ and firm value and insignificantly positive impact on the relation between RQ and future stock return. Nonetheless, interaction term of RQ and option volume has positive and significant impacts on MTB and future stock return.

This study investigates the relationship between BOPO and NPL with financial performance (ROA) and the impact on firm value using signaling theory analysis. In addition, what is also to be achieved is to investigate the role of firm size as a moderating variable and a mediating variable. The research sample was 16 banks that met the criteria (purposive sampling) with 80 observations. BOPO and NPL can be suppressed so as to encourage ROA. Furthermore, ROA can drive TQ. SIZE can strengthen ROA so that TQ becomes high in the market. In addition, ROA is able to push SIZE. And SIZE is able to contribute to TQ. SIZE has a positive and significant role in mediating between ROA and TQ.

Firms can be distinguished from one another on the basis of different financial and non-financial factors including firm size, firm value, leverage, earnings per share, cash flow and firm structure. These factors are unique to individual firms and influence the perception of investors towards the future performance of the firms. The aim of the study is to examine the impact of, Firm value, Earnings per share and Firm size on stock return for non-financial listed firms in Kenya. This study used census and covered all non-financial listed firms at the NSE between the years 2008 to 2016. The choice of this period was informed by various reforms undertaken at the NSE. These includes a rise in initial public offers (IPOs), additional offers (AOs), right issues, bonus issues and stock splits. These reforms have had great influence on stock returns. There are 44 non-financial listed firms in the Nairobi Securities Exchange. A number of studies in the empirical literature have documented that firm earnings scaled by market value of equity are related to average return. This study is meant to assess the sensitivity of empirical results of firm value, earnings per share and firm size on stock return for non-financial listed firms in Kenya. The study contributed to the body of knowledge in that non-financial listed firms have gained practical insights into the impact of firm factors under consideration on stock return thereby enriching their knowledge on how to increase overall positive results. The study was based on the problem that whereas there were various firm factors attributed to each firm, it was not clear how, firm value, earnings per share and firm size affect stock return for non-financial listed firms on stock markets particularly those with factors like in Nairobi Securities exchange. This was particularly because existing Empirical literature was scarce in this case. Panel regression model was applied to test the significance of the independent variables on dependent variable and unit root test, Co integration and granger causality test was applied for empirical testing of the data. Descriptive statistics was used to describe basic features of the data in the study.

This study aims to investigate the moderating role of profitability in the relationship between capital structure and firm value in Jordan, as an example of an emerging economy. For this purpose, two functional models were formulated to capture the direct relationship as well as the interaction impact of capital structure on firm value. The robust empirical findings of panel data analysis provide strong evidence of an adverse relationship between capital structure and firm value. The findings confirm that the impact of capital structure appears to be complicated in nature and difficult to examine without controlling for the interaction of profitability as one of the major determinants. Therefore, studying the interaction effect provides ample evidence and enhances the understanding of the link between firm value and capital structure. The empirical results of the study may provide important insights and policy implications to decision-makers.

This study aims to explain the impact of financial and non-financial factors, namely firm size, profitability, leverage, liquidity, activity ratio, CSR disclosures and environmental performance on firm value. This research is quantitative study with causality research design. Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) participating companies whose shares are listed on the IDX during 2015-2019 were the population of this study. The purposive sampling technique was chosen to obtain the sample of 35 companies with 140 units of analysis. This research applied a multiple linear regression test on panel data collected from secondary data. The results show the firm value can be explained by firm size, profitability, and activity ratio in a positive direction. Meanwhile, the negative influence is shown by leverage and liquidity and CSR disclosure & environmental performance cannot influence the firm value significantly. Managers are expected can optimize their asset management, because firm size, profitability, and activity ratio have a positive and significant effect on firm value and be careful of using debt, because liquidity and leverage are proven to have negative effect on firm value.

PurposeThe relationship between interlocking directorates and firm performance has been increasingly debated, with a focus on whether firm's centrality in interlock networks is associated with performance. The purpose of this study is to examine not only how a firm's position in this network is associated with performance but also how the performance of network partners can impact a firm's performance. This study examines how firms effectively utilise the interlock network to achieve the goal of higher market capitalisation – termed market capitalisation rank (MCR).Design/methodology/approachThe premise of the study is the UK FTSE 350 firms from 2014 to 2018. The paper makes use of a temporal network autocorrelation model to examine how firm characteristics, the structural position in the interlock network and the performance of network partners affect MCR over time.FindingsThe analysis indicates that firms with ties (via the interlock network) to firms with high market capitalisation are more likely to enhance their own MCR, highlighting network partners have the opportunity to play a critical role in a firm's dominance strategy to optimise firm value.Originality/valueThe value of this research is that it does not only look at the impact of a firm's position in the network on performance, but the impact of the performance of network partners on a firm's market performance as well.
